The Book of Mormon and the Law of Moses

The Bible and the Law of Moses

Use the New Testament and the Law of Moses handout to get perspective on the issues of the day prior to Jesus Ministry.  Most Jews misunderstood that the Law pointed towards Jesus.

The Law and Nomos

Once the magnitude of the obsolescence of  the Mosaic Law is understood, one can then see how broad the message to first century Christians who were confused whether to keep practicing the Mosaic Law after Christ.

Most of these scriptures are misapplied by Christians today who think we are no longer under laws, or will not be judged by how we respond to Christ's commandments.

The King James Bible and Works

Just what does the King James Bible say about works?  The answers aren't what some may be preaching..

Did Paul Really Practice the Law of Moses after his conversion?

Summary and synopsis of Acts 21 with correct understanding.  This chapter is often mis-applied by those wishing to prove Paul was still 'Mosaic' in his heart.

Class Summary

The final word on Grace and Works for this class.  Grace is/was the choice of God to die for the sin of the world, unto all those who repent.  Works are of two kinds in the New Testament, those which were obsolete under the Mosaic Law, and those required by covenant with Jesus Christ.  It is according to the works of Jesus that Paul, James and Jesus said we will be judged.
