1 Nephi 3:37
For it came to pass that after I had desired to know the things that my father had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto me,
1 Nephi 4:13
"Do ye not remember the thing which the Lord hath said: 'If ye will not harden your hearts and ask Me in faith, believing that ye shall receive-with diligence in keeping My commandments-surely these things shall be made known unto you'?
For He had said unto me: "Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive, in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it."
"And now, if God who hath created you, on whom you are dependent for your lives and for all that ye have and are, doth grant unto you whatsoever ye ask that is right, in faith believing that ye shall receive, O then, how had ye ought to impart of the substance that ye have one to another!
Yet they were a strong people as to the strength of men. They were a wild and ferocious and a bloodthirsty people, believing in the tradition of their fathers, which is this:
Believing that they were driven out of the Land of Jerusalem because of the iniquities of their fathers, And that they were wronged in the wilderness by their brethren; And they were also wronged while crossing the sea;
But Aaron saith unto him: "If thou desirest this thing, if thou will bow down before God, Yea, if thou repent of all thy sins and will bow down before God and call on His name in faith, believing that ye shall receive, Then shalt thou receive the hope which thou desirest."
But notwithstanding the law of Moses, they did look forward to the coming of Christ, considering that the law of Moses was a type of His coming, And believing that they must keep those outward performances until the time that He should be revealed unto them.
And it came to pass that there were many who died, firmly believing that their souls were redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ; Thus they went out of the world rejoicing.
Nevertheless, the people began to harden their hearts- all, save it were the most believing part of them, both of the Nephites, and also of the Lamanites- And began to depend upon their own strength and upon their own wisdom, saying:
3 Nephi 8:51
For Satan desireth to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; Therefore, ye must always pray unto the Father in My name; And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive- And behold, it shall be given unto you;
Doubt not, but be believing, And begin as in times of old, And come unto the Lord with all your heart, And work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before Him.
And assuredly as Christ liveth, He spake these words unto our fathers, saying: "Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in My name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, Behold, it shall be done unto you."
