and feast upon that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted: "And let your soul delight in fatness."
2 Nephi 10:17
"Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them which shall not regard silver and gold, nor they shall not delight in it.
And thus they did boast and did delight in blood and the shedding of the blood of their brethren, And this because of the wickedness of their king and priests.
And Moroni was a strong and a mighty man- He was a man of a perfect understanding, Yea, a man that did not delight in bloodshed, A man whose soul did joy in the liberty and the freedom of his country and his brethren from bondage and slavery,
Now they were sorry to take up arms against the Lamanites because they did not delight in the shedding of blood; Yea, and this was not all- They were sorry to be the means of sending so many of their brethren out of this world into an eternal world unprepared to meet their God;
But behold, this was not the desire of Moroni; He did not delight in murder or bloodshed, But he delighted in the saving of his people from destruction; And for this cause he might not bring upon him injustice, he would not fall upon the Lamanites and destroy them in their drunkenness.
3 Nephi 11:4
And these are the words which He did tell unto them, saying: "Thus said the Father unto Malachi: 'Behold, I will send My messenger, And he shall prepare the way before Me, And the Lord, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant whom ye delight in- Behold, He shall come,' saith the Lord of Hosts.
Know ye that ye must lay down your weapons of war and delight no more in the shedding of blood and take them not again, save it be that God shall command you.
"O my beloved son, how can a people like this that are without civilization- And only a few years have passed away and they were a civil and a delightsome people- But O my son, how can a people like this, whose delight is in so much abomination- How can we expect that God will stay His hand in judgment against us?
And they are alike brutal, sparing none, neither old nor young; And they delight in everything, save that which is good; And the sufferings of our women and our children upon all the face of this land doth exceed everything- Yea, tongue cannot tell, neither can it be written.
