The ultimate and last prophecy of this world is fulfilled when God dwells on earth.

Now it came to pass that when I had heard these words, I began to feel a desire for the welfare of my brethren the Nephites; Wherefore, I did pour out my whole soul unto God for them.
And now behold, this was the desire which I desired of Him: That if it should so be that my people the Nephites, should fall into transgression and by any means be destroyed, and the Lamanites should not be destroyed, That the Lord God would preserve a record of my people the Nephites,
"Behold I say unto you, that because I said unto you that I had spent my days in your service, I do not desire to boast, for I have only been in the service of God;
"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God,
"And now, I desire to know the cause whereby ye were so bold as to come near the walls of the city when I, myself, was with my guards without the gate.
Yea, and how blind and impenetrable are the understandings of the children of men! For they will not seek wisdom, Neither do they desire that she should rule over them;
'For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
"And now O king, if thou hast not found me to be an unprofitable servant, or if thou hast hitherto listened to my words in any degree and they have been of service to thee, Even so, I desire that thou wouldst listen to my words at this time, And I will be thy servant and deliver this people out of bondage."
Yea, even out of the hands of King Noah and his people, and also from the bonds of iniquity, Even so, I desire that ye should stand fast in this liberty wherewith ye have been made free and that ye trust no man to be a king over you,
And these were the words that were written, saying: "Behold, O ye my people, or my brethren, for I esteem you as such, For I desire that ye should consider the cause which ye are called to consider, for ye are desirous to have a king;
"Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right, But it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right;
"And now I desire that this inequality should be no more in this land, especially among this my people;
But I desire that this land be a land of liberty, And every man may enjoy his rights and privileges alike, so long as the Lord seeth fit that we may live and inherit the land,
And behold, I have come having great hopes and much desire that I should find that ye had humbled yourselves before God, And that ye had continued in the supplicating of His grace, that I should find that ye were blameless before Him,
Nevertheless, I do not desire that my joy over you should come by the cause of so much afflictions and sorrow which I have had for the brethren at Zarahemla;
For as I said unto you from the beginning that I had much desire that ye were not in the state of dilemma like your brethren, Even so I have found that my desires have been gratified.
And it was only thy desire that I should deny the true and living God, that thou mightest have cause to destroy me.
And Ammon said unto him: "Yea, I desire to dwell among this people for a time, yea, and perhaps until the day I die."
Now I surely know that this is the Great Spirit; And I would desire him that he come in unto me, but I durst not."
Now Ammon being wise, yet harmless, he saith unto Lamoni: "Wilt thou hearken unto my words if I tell thee by what power I do these things? And this is the thing that I desire of thee."
Yea, he knew that this had overcome his natural frame and he was carried away in God; Therefore, what the queen desired of him was his only desire.
And they did all declare unto the people the selfsame thing-that their hearts had been changed, that they had no more desire to do evil;
Now when Ammon saw that he had wrought upon the old king according to his desire, he saith unto him: "If thou wilt grant that my brethren may be cast out of prison, and also that Lamoni may retain his kingdom, And that ye be not displeased with him, but grant that he may do according to his own desires in whatsoever thing he thinketh, And then will I spare thee; Otherwise, I will smite thee to the earth."
"And I will also grant unto thee that thy brethren may be cast out of prison and thou and thy brethren may come unto me in my kingdom, for I shall greatly desire to see thee."
For I have been somewhat troubled in mind because of the generosity and the greatness of the words of thy brother Ammon, And I desire to know the cause why he has not come up out of Middoni with thee."
And he saith: "Yea, I believe that the Great Spirit created all things, And I desire that ye should tell me concerning all these things, And I will believe thy words."
Now seeing that I know these things, why should I desire more than to perform the work to which I have been called?
Why should I desire that I was an angel, that I could speak unto all the ends of the earth?
In whom did ye desire that Alma should show forth His sign? Would ye that He should afflict others to show unto thee a sign?
"And now my beloved brethren, as ye have desired to know of me what ye shall do because ye are afflicted and cast out- Now I do not desire that ye should suppose that I mean to judge you only according to that which is true,
"But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, Yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, Even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
"And now my brethren, I desire that ye should plant this word in your hearts, And as it beginneth to swell, even so nourish it by your faith;
"And now my beloved brethren, I desire that ye should remember these things, And that ye should work out your salvation with fear before God, And that ye should no more deny the coming of Christ, That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, But that ye receive it and take upon you the name of Christ, That ye humble yourselves even to the dust and worship God in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth,
For behold, there is a curse upon all this land that destruction shall come upon all those workers of darkness-according to the power of God- when they are fully ripe. Therefore, I desire that this people might not be destroyed;
And now my son, I desire that ye should let these things trouble you no more, And only let your sins trouble you with that trouble which shall bring you down unto repentance.
O my son, I desire that ye should deny the justice of God no more;
And he also knowing that it was the only desire of the Nephites to preserve their lands and their liberty and their church, Therefore, he thought it no sin that he should defend them by stratagem, Therefore, he found, by his spies, which course the Lamanites were to take.
And thus having placed his army according to his desire, he was prepared to meet them.
And Moroni said unto Zerahemnah: "Behold, Zerahemnah, that we do not desire to be men of blood;
Ye know that ye are in our hands, yet we do not desire to slay you.
"Behold, we have not come out to battle against you, that we might shed your blood for power, Neither do we desire to bring anyone to the yoke of bondage;
Now behold, this was the desire of Amalickiah; For he being a very subtle man to do evil, Therefore, he laid the plan in his heart to dethrone the king of the Lamanites.
And it came to pass that he was exceeding angry with his people because he had not obtained his desire over the Nephites- He had not subjected them to the yoke of bondage;
But behold, this was not the desire of Moroni; He did not delight in murder or bloodshed, But he delighted in the saving of his people from destruction; And for this cause he might not bring upon him injustice, he would not fall upon the Lamanites and destroy them in their drunkenness.
But he had obtained his desire, for he had armed those prisoners of the Nephites which were within the walls of the city, And had given them power to gain possession of those parts which were within the walls;
Therefore, their chief captains demanded their weapons of war, And they brought them forth and cast them at the feet of the Nephites, pleading for mercy. Now behold, this was the desire of Moroni;
We supposed that we could overpower them. "But behold, we were disappointed in this our desire-
"And it came to pass that it was our desire to wage a battle with the army which was placed to protect the City Cumeni.
"And now behold, I will show unto you that we soon accomplished our desire; Yea, with our strong force, or with a part of our strong force, we did surround by night the City Cumeni a little before they were to receive a supply of provisions.
Behold, we do not know but what ye are unsuccessful, And ye have drawn away the forces into that quarter of the land; If so, we do not desire to murmur;
Yea, great has been your neglect toward us. "And now behold, we desire to know the cause of this exceeding great neglect; Yea, we desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state.
"Yea, had it not been for the desire of power and authority which those Kingmen had over us- "Had they been true to the cause of our freedom and united with us and gone forth against our enemies instead of taking up their swords against us, which was the cause of so much bloodshed among ourselves-
And I will come unto you; And if there be any among you that hath a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, Behold, I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who hath desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct.
And it came to pass that Moroni took a small number of men according to the desire of Pahoron, And gave Lehi and Teancum command over the remainder of his army, And took his march toward the Land of Gideon;
But behold, the Lamanites were not frightened according to his desire; But they had come into the center of the land and had taken the capital city, which was the City of Zarahemla, And were marching through the most capital parts of the land, Slaying the people with a great slaughter- both men, women and children- Taking possession of many cities and of many strongholds.
And it came to pass that he met Kishcumen and he gave unto him a sign; Therefore, Kishcumen made known unto him the object of his desire, Desiring that he would conduct him to the judgment seat, that he might murder Helaman.
And these are the words which he spake: "Behold, my sons, I desire that ye should remember to keep the commandments of God; And I would that ye should declare unto the people these words.
"And now my sons, behold, I have somewhat more to desire of you, Which desire is that ye may not do these things that ye may boast, But that ye may do these things to lay up for yourselves a treasure in heaven, Yea, which is eternal and which fadeth not away; Yea, that ye may have that precious gift of eternal life, which ye have reason to suppose hath been given to our fathers.
And it came to pass that the Lamanites did also go whithersoever they would, Whether it were among the Lamanites or among the Nephites; And thus they did have free intercourse one with another for to buy and to sell and to get gain, according to their desire.
Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God who hath created them should rule and reign over them; Notwithstanding His great goodness and His mercy toward them, they do set at naught His counsels, And they will not that He should be their guide.

And thus it became the desire of the people of Zemnarihah to withdraw from their design because of the great destruction which came upon them by night and by day.

And the brother of Jared began to be old and saw that he must soon go down to the grave, Wherefore, he saith unto Jared: "Let us gather together our people, that we may number them, That we may know of them what they will desire of us before we go down to our graves."
And it came to pass that they did number their people; And after that they had numbered them, they did desire of them the things which they would that they should do before they went down to their graves.
"And now therefore, let my father send for Akish, the son of Kimnor; And behold, I am fair, And I will dance before him, And I will please him that he will desire me to wife; Wherefore, if he shall desire of thee that ye shall give unto him me to wife, Then shall ye say, 'I will give her if ye will bring unto me the head of my father the king.'"
And it came to pass that Akish gathered in unto the house of Jared all his kinsfolk and saith unto them: "Will ye swear unto me that ye will be faithful unto me in the thing which I shall desire of you?"
"And now my son, I desire that ye should labor exceedingly that this gross error should be removed from among you; For, for this intent I have written this epistle.
