1 Nephi 3:6 Wherefore, all mankind was in a lost and in a fallen state and ever would be, save they should rely on this Redeemer.
1 Nephi 3:179 Neither will the Lord God suffer that the Gentiles shall forever remain in that state of awful woundedness, which thou beholdest that they are in because of the plain and most precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb which hath been kept back by that abominable church, whose formation thou hast seen;

Alma 19:42 Now concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection -
Alma 19:44 And then shall it come to pass that the spirits of those which are righteous are received into a state of happiness which is called paradise - a state of rest, a state of peace - Where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care and sorrow, etc.
Alma 19:47 Now this is the state of the souls of the wicked, yea, in darkness, And a state of awful, fearful, looking for, of the fiery indignation of the wrath of God upon them; Thus they remain in this state, as well as the righteous in paradise, until the time of their resurrection.
Alma 19:48 Now there are some that have understood that this state of happiness and this state of misery of the soul before the resurrection was a first resurrection;

But this much I say - that there is a space between death and the resurrection of the body, and a state of the soul in happiness or in misery, Until the time which is appointed of God that the dead shall come forth and be reunited, both soul and body, And be brought to stand before God and be judged according to their works.
Alma 19:75 And now, my son, all men that are in a state of nature - or I would say in a carnal state - are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; They are without God in the world, And they have gone contrary to the nature of God, Therefore, they are in a state contrary to the nature of happiness.
Alma 19:76 And now behold, is the meaning of the word "restoration" to take a thing of a natural state and place it in an unnatural state, or to place it in a state opposite to its nature?
Alma 19:81 And now, my son, I perceive there is somewhat more which doth worry your mind which ye cannot understand, Which is concerning the justice of God in the punishment of the sinner, For ye do try to suppose that it is injustice that the sinner should be consigned to a state of misery.

Alma 19:93 And now, there was no means to reclaim men from this fallen state which man had brought upon himself because of his own disobedience;

Alma 27:19 Yea, great has been your neglect toward us. "And now behold, we desire to know the cause of this exceeding great neglect; Yea, we desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state.
Alma 27:20 "Can you think to sit upon your thrones in a state of thoughtless stupor, while your enemies are spreading the work of death around you?
Helaman 2:60 Therefore, the Lord did cease to preserve them by His miraculous and matchless power, For they had fallen into a state of unbelief and awful wickedness. And they saw that the Lamanites were more exceeding numerous than they, And except they should repent unto the Lord, their God, They must unavoidably perish.

Helaman 4:73 Yea, which shall be consigned to a state of endless misery, fulfilling the words which saith: "They that have done good shall have everlasting life; And they that have done evil shall have everlasting damnation." And thus it is. Amen.
3 Nephi 1:57 And thus ended the fifteenth year. And thus were the people in a state of many afflictions; And the sword of destruction did hang over them, insomuch that they were about to be smitten down by it, And this because of their iniquity.
3 Nephi 3:19 And thus in the commencement of the thirtieth year - the people having been delivered up for the space of a long time, to be carried about by the temptations of the devil whithersoever he desired to carry them, and to do whatsoever iniquity he desired they should - And thus in the commencement of this, the thirtieth year, they were in a state of awful wickedness;
3 Nephi 13:27 And whether they were in the body or out of the body, they could not tell; For it did seem unto them like a transfiguration of them, That they were changed from this body of flesh into an immortal state that they could behold the things of God.

Mormon 3:23 "O that ye had repented before that this great destruction had come upon you! But behold, ye are gone; And the Father, yea, the Eternal Father of heaven knoweth your state, And He doeth with you according to His justice and mercy."
Mormon 3:29 And He hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, Whereby he that is found guiltless before Him at the judgment day hath it given unto them to dwell in the presence of God in His kingdom, To sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above unto the Father and unto the Son and unto the Holy Ghost, which is one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end.
Ether 1:111 "Behold, when ye shall rend that veil of unbelief which doth cause you to remain in your awful state of wickedness and hardness of heart and blindness of mind, Then shall the great and marvelous things which have been hid up from the foundation of the world from you -
Moroni 7:43 Wherefore, if these things have ceased, then has faith ceased also and awful is the state of man, For they are as though there had been no redemption made.
