DC 68:2g but by virtue of the decree concerning their right of the priesthood descending from father to son, they may claim their anointing, if at any time they can prove their lineage, or do
ascertain it by revelation from the Lord under the hands of the above-named presidency.
DC 99:7 Whenever a high council of the church of Christ is regularly organized, according to the foregoing pattern, it shall be the duty of the twelve councilors to cast lots by numbers, and thereby
ascertain who, of the twelve, shall speak first, commencing with number 1; and so in succession to number 12.
