Jacob 1:8 Wherefore, we would to God that we could persuade all men not to rebel against God, to provoke him to anger, but that all men would believe in Christ, and view his death, and suffer his cross, and bear the shame of the world; wherefore, I, Jacob, take it upon me to fulfill the commandment of my brother Nephi.
Jacob 1:14 But I, Jacob, shall not hereafter distinguish them by these names, but I shall call them Lamanites, that seek to destroy the people of Nephi; and those who are friendly to Nephi, I shall call Nephites, or the people of Nephi, according to the reigns of the kings.
Jacob 1:15 And now it came to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign of the second king, began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old, desiring many wives and concubines, and also Solomon, his son:
Jacob 2:66 And now I, Jacob, spake many more things unto the people of Nephi, warning them against fornication, and lasciviousness, and of every kind of sin, telling them the awful consequences of them;
Jacob 3:30 Behold, my brethren, do ye not remember to have read the words of the prophet Zenos, which spake unto the house of Israel, saying: Hearken, O ye house of Israel, and hear the words of me, a prophet of the Lord:
Jacob 3:31 For behold, thus saith the Lord, I will liken thee, O house of Israel, like unto a tame olive tree, which a man took and nourished in his vineyard: and it grew, and waxed old, and began to decay.

Mosiah 1:35 For the multitude being so great, that King Benjamin could not teach them all within the walls of the temple; therefore he caused a tower to be erected; that thereby his people might hear the words which he should speak unto them.
Mosiah 2:6 Having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the words which King Benjamin had spoken unto them.
Mosiah 4:4 And also had appointed priests to teach the people, that thereby they might hear and know the commandments of God, and to stir them up in remembrance of the oath which they had made, he dismissed the multitude, and they returned, every one according to their families, to their own houses.
Mosiah 4:5 And Mosiah began to reign in his father's stead.
Mosiah 6:10 And he also commanded that his people should depart out of that land, and I and my people went into the land, that we might possess it.
Mosiah 6:11 And we began to build buildings, and to repair the walls of the city, yea, even the walls of the city of Lehi-Nephi, and the city of Shilom.
Mosiah 6:13 Now, it was the cunning and the craftiness of King Laman, to bring my people into bondage, that he yielded up the land, that we might possess it.
Mosiah 6:15 Now, they were a lazy, and an idolatrous people; therefore, they were desirous to bring us into bondage, that they might glut themselves with the labors of our hands; yea, that they might feast themselves upon the flocks of our fields.
Mosiah 6:16 Therefore, it came to pass that King Laman began to stir up his people, that they should contend with my people; therefore, there began to be wars and contentions in the land.
Mosiah 6:25 And behold, to our great sorrow and lamentation, two hundred and seventy-nine of our brethren were slain.
Mosiah 6:33 And thus we did prosper in the land; thus we did have continual peace in the land, for the space of twenty and two years.
Mosiah 6:34 And it came to pass that King Laman died, and his son began to rein in his stead.
Mosiah 6:56 And it came to pass that we did drive them again out of our land; and we slew them with a great slaughter, even so many that we did not number them.

Mosiah 7:23 And King Noah sent guards round about the land to keep them off; but he did not send a sufficient number, and the Lamanites came upon them and killed them, and drove many of their flocks out of the land;
Mosiah 7:27 And thus they did boast, and did delight in blood, and the shedding of the blood of their brethren, and this because of the wickedness of their king and priests.
Mosiah 7:44 And King Noah hardened his heart against the word of the Lord; and he did not repent of his evil doings.
Mosiah 7:72 And the king commanded that he should be brought before them.
Mosiah 8:10 I say unto you, Nay, they did not all understand the law; and this because of the hardness of their hearts: for they understood not that there could not any man be saved, except it were through the redemption of God.
Mosiah 8:61 But behold, and fear, and tremble before God; for ye ought to tremble: for the Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him, and die in their sins;
Mosiah 9:3 And he was a young man, and he believed the words which Abinadi had spoken, for he knew concerning the iniquity which Abinadi had testified against them:
Mosiah 9:17 And now King Noah was about to release him, for he feared his word; for he feared that the judgments of God would come upon him.
Mosiah 9:20 And it came to pass that they took him, and bound him, and scourged his skin with fagots, yea, even unto death.
Mosiah 9:27 And now when Abinadi had said these words, he fell, having suffered death by fire; yea, having been put to death because he would not deny the commandments of God: having sealed the truth of his words by his death.
Mosiah 9:74 And it came to pass that the army of the king returned, having searched in vain for the people of the Lord.
Mosiah 9:75 And now behold, the forces of the king were small, having been reduced, and there began to be a division among the remainder of the people.
Mosiah 9:82 And the king commanded the people that they should flee before the Lamanites, and he himself did go before them, and they did flee into the wilderness with their women and their children.
Mosiah 9:103 And also Limhi, being the son of the king, having the kingdom conferred upon him by the people, made oath unto the king of the Lamanites, that his people should pay tribute unto him; even one half of all they possessed.
Mosiah 9:115 And now Limhi had discovered them from the tower; even all their preparations for war did he discover; therefore he gathered his people together, and laid wait for them in the fields, and in the forests.
Mosiah 9:117 And it came to pass that the battle became exceeding sore, for they fought like lions for their prey.
Mosiah 9:139 And when the Lamanites saw the people of Limhi, that they were without arms, they had compassion on them, and were pacified towards them, and returned with their king in peace to their own land.
Mosiah 9:140 And it came to pass that Limhi and his people returned to the city of Nephi, and began to dwell in the land again in peace.
Mosiah 9:141 And it came to pass that after many days, the Lamanites began again to be stirred up in anger against the Nephites; and they began to come into the borders of the land round about.
Mosiah 9:143 And now the afflictions of the Nephites were great; and there was no way that they could deliver themselves out of their hands, for the Lamanites had surrounded them on every side.
Mosiah 9:155 And now the Lord was slow to hear their cry, because of their iniquities;
Mosiah 9:156 Nevertheless the Lord did hear their cries, and began to soften the hearts of the Lamanites, that they began to ease their burdens; yet the Lord did not see fit to deliver them out of bondage.
Mosiah 9:181 And now all the study of Ammon and his people, and King Limhi and his people, was to deliver themselves out of the hands of the Lamanites and from bondage.
Mosiah 11:4 And they came to a land, yea, even a very beautiful and pleasant land; a land of pure water.
Mosiah 11:20 Therefore they did watch over their people, and did nourish them with things pertaining to righteousness.
Mosiah 11:30 But Alma went forth and stood among them, and exhorted them that they should not be frightened, but that they should remember the Lord their God, and he would deliver them;
Mosiah 11:48 And he was king over a numerous people; and he appointed teachers of the brethren of Amulon, in every land which was possessed by his people;
Mosiah 11:51 Nor did they teach them the words of Abinadi; but they taught them that they should keep their record, and that they might write one to another.
Mosiah 11:53 Yea, a very cunning people; delighting in all manner of wickedness and plunder except it were among their own brethren.
Mosiah 11:56 Yet he exercised authority over them, and put tasks upon them, and put task-masters over them.
Mosiah 11:146 And it came to pass that Alma did regulate all the affairs of the church;
Mosiah 11:149 And they did admonish their brethren; and they were also admonished, every one, by the word of God, according to his sins, or to the sins which he had committed; being commanded of God to pray without ceasing, and to give thanks in all things.
Mosiah 11:155 Yea, and all their priests and teachers should labor with their own hands for their support, in all cases save it were in sickness, or in much want: and doing these things they did abound in the grace of God.
Mosiah 11:182 And he caused that a multitude should be gathered together, that they might witness what the Lord had done for his son, and also for those that were with him.
Mosiah 11:184 And also that his limbs might receive their strength, that the eyes of the people might be opened to see and know of the goodness and glory of God.
Mosiah 11:199 And they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink beneath the glance of his all-searching eye.
Alma 1:7 For the Lord had created all men, and had also redeemed all men; and in the end, all men should have eternal life.
Alma 1:8 And it came to pass that he did teach these things so much, that many did believe on his words, even so many that they began to support him and give him money;
Alma 1:10 And it came to pass as he was going to preach to those who believed on his word, he met a man who belonged to the church of God, yea, even one of their teachers;
Alma 1:12 Now the name of the man was Gideon; and it was he who was an instrument in the hands of God, in delivering the people of Limhi out of bondage.
Alma 1:27 And they durst not steal, for fear of the law; for such were punished; neither durst they rob, nor murder: for he that murdered was punished unto death.
Alma 1:31 Now there was a strict law among the people of the church, that there should not any man, belonging to the church, arise and persecute those that did not belong to the church, and that there should be no persecution among themselves.
Alma 1:41 And they did not wear costly apparel, yet they were neat and comely;
Alma 1:42 And thus they did establish the affairs of the church; and thus they began to have continual peace again, notwithstanding all their persecutions.
Alma 1:52 Therefore there was much peace among the people of Nephi, until the fifth year of the reign of the Judges.
Alma 1:53 And it came to pass in the commencement of the fifth year of their reign, there began to be a contention among the people, for a certain man, being called Amlici; he being a very cunning man, yea, a wise man, as to the wisdom of the world; he being after the order of the man that slew Gideon by the sword, who was executed according to the law.
Alma 1:69 And it came to pass that Amlici did arm his men with all manner of weapons of war, of every kind; and he also appointed rulers and leaders over his people, to lead them to war against their brethren.
Alma 1:70 And it came to pass that the Amlicites came upon the hill of Amnihu, which was east of the river Sidon, which ran by the land of Zarahemla, and there they began to make war with the Nephites.
Alma 1:72 And the Amlicites did contend with the Nephites with great strength, insomuch that many of the Nephites did fall before the Amlicites;
Alma 1:92 And thus he cleared the ground, or rather the bank, which was on the west of the river Sidon, throwing the bodies of the Lamanites who had been slain, into the waters of Sidon, that thereby his people might have room to cross and contend with the Lamanites and the Amlicites on the west side of the river Sidon.
Alma 1:116 And again I say, He that departeth from thee, shall no more be called thy seed; and I will bless thee, etc., and whomsoever shall be called thy seed, henceforth and for ever: and these were the promises of the Lord unto Nephi, and to his seed.
Alma 1:124 And they went up and slew many of the Lamanites, and drove the remainder of them out of the borders of their land;
Alma 2:3 And so great were their afflictions, that every soul had cause to mourn; and they believed that it was the judgments of God sent upon them, because of their wickedness and their abominations; therefore they were awakened to a remembrance of their duty.
Alma 2:7 And thus ended the seventh year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi; and there was continual peace in all that time.
Alma 2:9 And because of their many flocks and herds, and their gold, and their silver, and all manner of precious things, which they had obtained by their industry;
Alma 2:12 Yea, many of them were sorely grieved for the wickedness which they saw had begun to be among their people.
Alma 2:13 For they saw and beheld with great sorrow, that the people of the church began to be lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and to set their hearts upon riches and upon the vain things of the world;
Alma 2:14 That they began to be scornful, one towards another, and they began to persecute those that did not believe according to their own will and pleasure.
Alma 2:16 Yea, there were envyings, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and pride, even to exceed the pride of those who did not belong to the church of God.
Alma 2:17 And thus ended the eighth year of the reign of the Judges; and the wickedness of the church was a great stumbling block to those who did not belong to the church; and thus the church began to fail in its progress.
Alma 2:21 Being filled with great joy, because of the resurrection of the dead, according to the will, and power, and deliverance of Jesus Christ from the bands of death.
Alma 3:Intro The words which Alma, the High Priest, according to the holy order of God, delivered to the people in their cities and villages throughout the land.
Alma 3:2 And these are the words which he spake to the people in the church which was established in the city of Zarahemla, according to his own record, saying:
Alma 3:6 And behold, after that, they were brought into bondage by the hands of the Lamanites, in the wilderness; yea, I say unto you, They were in captivity, and again the Lord did deliver them out of bondage by the power of his word;
Alma 4:3 And it also came to pass that whosoever did belong to the church, that did not repent of their wickedness, and humble themselves before God;
Alma 4:8 And went over upon the east of the river Sidon, into the valley of Gideon, there having been a city built which was called the city of Gideon, which was in the valley that was called Gideon, being called after the man who was slain by the hand of Nehor with the sword.
Alma 5:41 And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works;
Alma 6:4 And it came to pass in the commencement of the tenth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, that Alma departed from thence, and took his journey over into the land of Melek, on the west of the river Sidon, on the west by the borders of the wilderness;
Alma 6:8 Now it was the custom of the people of Nephi, to call their lands, and their cities, and their villages, yea, even all their small villages, after the name of him who first possessed them; and thus it was with the land of Ammonihah.
Alma 6:34 And now Amulek, because thou hast fed me, and took me in, thou art blessed; for I was an hungered, for I had fasted many days.
Alma 6:41 Now this was done that the Lord might shew forth his power in them.
Alma 7:Intro The words of Alma, and also the words of Amulek which were declared unto the people who were in the land of Ammonihah. And also they are cast into prison, and delivered by the miraculous power of God which was in them, according to the record of Alma.
Alma 7:49 But it came to pass that the Lord did not suffer them that they should take me at that time and cast me into prison.
Alma 8:17 Yea, even all my kindred hath he blessed, and the blessing of the Lord hath rested upon us according to the words which he spake.
Alma 8:22 Now these lawyers were learned in all the arts and cunning of the people; and this was to enable them that they might be skillful in their profession.
Alma 8:24 Now they knew not that Amulek could know of their designs.
Alma 8:66 That they might get money according to the suits which were brought before them; therefore they did stir up the people against Alma and Amulek.
Alma 8:107 Thus the whole becoming spiritual and immortal, that they can no more see corruption.
Alma 8:109 And thus ended the words of Amulek, or this is all that I have written.
Alma 9:9 That he might bring you into subjection unto him, that he might encircle you about with his chains, that he might chain you down to everlasting destruction, according to the power of his captivity.
Alma 9:12 For power was given unto them that they might know of these things, according to the spirit of prophecy.
Alma 9:14 And he said unto Alma, What does this mean which Amulek hath spoken concerning the resurrection of the dead, that all shall rise from the dead, both the just and the unjust, and are brought to stand before God, to be judged according to their works?
Alma 9:32 Then I say unto you, They shall be as though there had been no redemption made; for they can not be redeemed according to God's justice; and they can not die, seeing there is no more corruption.
Alma 9:48 Therefore he sent angels to converse with them, who caused men to behold of his glory.
Alma 10:31 And Alma spake many more words unto the people which are not written in this book.
Alma 10:40 And it came to pass that Zeezrom was astonished at the words which had been spoken; and he also knew concerning the blindness of the minds which he had caused among the people, by his lying words;
Alma 10:41 And his soul began to be harrowed up, under a consciousness of his own guilt; yea, he began to be encircled about by the pains of hell.
Alma 10:42 And it came to pass that he began to cry unto the people, saying: Behold I am guilty, and these men are spotless before God.
Alma 10:76 And when the last had spoken unto them, the power of God was upon Alma and Amulek, and they arose and stood upon their feet; and Alma cried, saying, How long shall we suffer these great afflictions, O Lord?
Alma 10:89 And also Zeezrom lay sick at Sidom, with a burning fever, which was caused by the great tribulations of his mind, on account of his wickedness, for he supposed that Alma and Amulek were no more; and he supposed that they had been slain, by the cause of his iniquity.
Alma 10:90 And this great sin, and his many other sins, did harrow up his mind, until it did become exceeding sore, having no deliverance; therefore he began to be scorched with a burning heat.
Alma 10:99 And then Alma cried unto the Lord, saying, O Lord our God, have mercy on this man, and heal him according to his faith which is in Christ.
Alma 10:101 And this was done to the great astonishment of all the people; and the knowledge of this went forth throughout all the land of Sidom.
Alma 10:107 And it came to pass that Alma and Amulek, Amulek having forsaken all his gold, and silver, and his precious things, which were in the land of Ammonihah, for the word of God, he being rejected by those who were once his friends, and also by his father and his kindred;
Alma 10:108 Therefore, after Alma having established the church at Sidom, seeing a great check, yea, seeing that the people were checked as to the pride of their hearts, and began to humble themselves before God,
Alma 11:1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, on the fifth day of the second month, there having been much peace in the land of Zarahemla; there having been no wars nor contentions for a certain number of years; even until the fifth day of the second month, in the eleventh year, there was a cry of war heard throughout the land;
Alma 12:39 Therefore as Ammon and the servants of the king were driving forth their flocks to this place of water, behold a certain number of the Lamanites who had been with their flocks to water, stood and scattered the flocks of Ammon, and the servants of the king, and they scattered them insomuch that they fled many ways.
Alma 12:40 Now the servants of the king began to murmur, saying, Now the king will slay us, as he has our brethren, because their flocks were scattered by the wickedness of these men.
Alma 12:51 Therefore, they delighted in the destruction of their brethren; and for this cause they stood to scatter the flocks of the king.
Alma 12:52 But Ammon stood forth and began to cast stones at them with his sling; yea, with mighty power he did sling stones amongst them;
Alma 12:56 But behold, every man that lifted his club to smite Ammon, he smote off their arms with his sword;
Alma 12:71 Notwithstanding they believed in a Great Spirit, they supposed that whatsoever they did, was right;
Alma 12:100 And the king answered him and said, Yea, I will believe all thy words; and thus he was caught with guile.
Alma 12:113 And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth me knowledge, and also power, according to my faith and desires which are in God.
Alma 12:121 And it came to pass that after he had said all these things, and expounded them to the king, that the king believed all his words.
Alma 12:145 Now Ammon seeing the Spirit of the Lord poured out according to his prayers upon the Lamanites, his brethren; who had been the cause of so much mourning among the Nephites, or among all the people of God, because of their iniquities and their traditions,
Alma 12:147 And he was also overpowered with joy; and thus they all three had sunk to the earth.
Alma 12:152 And supposing that this opportunity, by making known unto the people what had happened among them, that by beholding this scene, it would cause them to believe in the power of God,
Alma 12:155 And they also saw Ammon, and behold he was a Nephite.
Alma 12:162 And it came to pass that when the multitude beheld that the man had fallen dead, who lifted the sword to slay Ammon, fear came upon them all, and they durst not put forth their hands to touch him, or any of those who had fallen,
Alma 12:166 And there were some who said that Ammon was sent by the Great Spirit to afflict them, because of their iniquities; and that it was the Great Spirit that had always attended the Nephites; who had ever delivered them out of their hands;
Alma 12:172 And when she had done this, she took the king, Lamoni, by the hand, and behold he arose and stood upon his feet;
Alma 12:205 But Ammon withstood his blows, and also smote his arm that he could not use it.
Alma 12:209 Now when Ammon saw that he had wrought upon the old king according to his desire, he said unto him, If thou wilt grant that my brethren may be cast out of prison, and also that Lamoni may retain his kingdom, and that ye be not displeased with him, but grant that he may do according to his own desires, in whatsoever thing he thinketh, then will I spare thee; otherwise I will smite thee to the earth.
Alma 13:3 Now the Lamanites, of themselves, were sufficiently hardened, but the Amalekites, and the Amulonites, were still harder; therefore they did cause the Lamanites that they should harden their hearts, that they should wax strong in wickedness, and their abominations.
Alma 13:4 And it came to pass that Aaron came to the city of Jerusalem, and firstly began to preach to the Amalekites.
Alma 13:5 And he began to preach to them in their synagogues, for they had built synagogues after the order of the Nehors; for many of the Amalekites and the Amulonites were after the order of the Nehors.
Alma 13:12 We do not believe that thou knowest of things to come, neither do we believe that thy fathers, and also that our fathers did know concerning the things which they spake, of that which is to come.
Alma 13:13 Now Aaron began to open the scriptures unto them, concerning the coming of Christ, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and that there could be no redemption for mankind, save it were through the death and sufferings of Christ, and the atonement of his blood.
Alma 13:21 And they went forth whithersoever they were led by the Spirit of the Lord, preaching the word of God in every synagogue of the Amalekites, or in every assembly of the Lamanites where they could be admitted.
Alma 13:39 And the king said, I know that the Amalekites say that there is a God, and I have granted unto them that they should build sanctuaries, that they may assemble themselves together, to worship him. And if now thou sayest there is a God, behold, I will believe.

Alma 13:62 Therefore he put forth his hand and raised the king from the earth, and said unto him, Stand: and he stood upon his feet, receiving his strength.
Alma 13:63 Now this was done in the presence of the queen, and many of the servants. And when they saw it, they greatly marveled, and began to fear.
Alma 13:64 And the king stood forth and began to minister unto them. And he did minister unto them insomuch that his whole household were converted unto the Lord.

Alma 14:19 And it came to pass that they called their name Anti-Nephi-Lehis; and they were called by this name, and were no more called Lamanites.
Alma 14:21 And it came to pass that the Amalekites, and the Amulonites, and the Lamanites who were in the land of Amulon, and also in the land of Helam, and who were in the land of Jerusalem, and in fine, in all the land round about, who had not been converted, and had not taken upon them the name of Anti-Nephi-Lehi, were stirred up by the Amalekites, and by the Amulonites, to anger against their brethren;
Alma 14:23 Now the king conferred the kingdom upon his son and he called his name Anti-Nephi-Lehi.
Alma 14:48 And it came to pass that their brethren the Lamanites made preparations for war, and came up to the land of Nephi for the purpose of destroying the king, and to place another in his stead, and also of destroying the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi out of the land.
Alma 14:49 Now when the people saw that they were coming against them, they went out to meet them, and prostrated themselves before them to the earth, and began to call on the name of the Lord;
Alma 14:63 And the remainder having fled into the east wilderness, and having usurped the power and authority over the Lamanites, caused that many of the Lamanites should perish by fire, because of their belief:
Alma 14:64 For many of them, after having suffered much loss and so many afflictions, began to be stirred up in remembrance of the words which Aaron and his brethren had preached to them in their land:
Alma 14:66 And it came to pass that those rulers who were the remnant of the children of Amulon, caused that they should be put to death, yea, all those that believed in these things.
Alma 14:73 And it came to pass that when the Lamanites saw that they could not overpower the Nephites, they returned again to their own land; and many of them came over to dwell in the land of Ishmael and the land of Nephi, and did join themselves to the people of God, who were the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi;
Alma 14:122 But behold, how many of these have laid down their lives, and we know that they have gone to their God, because of their love, and of their hatred to sin.
Alma 15:2 And it came to pass that the Amalekites, because of their loss were exceeding angry.
Alma 16:2 Now their dead were not numbered, because of the greatness of their numbers, neither were the dead of the Nephites numbered;
Alma 16:6 And it came to pass in the seventeenth year of the reign of the Judges, there was continual peace.
Alma 16:12 Nevertheless, there was no law against a man's belief; therefore, a man was punished only for the crimes which he had done; therefore all men were on equal grounds.
Alma 16:22 And it came to pass that he caused that he should be carried out of the land.
Alma 16:77 And thus we see the end of him who perverteth the ways of the Lord; and thus we see that the devil will not support his children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell.
Alma 16:120 Now this was according to the prayer of Alma; and this because he prayed in faith.
Alma 16:121 And it came to pass that they did go forth, and began to preach the word of God unto the people, entering into their synagogues, and into their houses; yea, and even they did preach the word in their streets.
Alma 16:200 And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son. And even all this can ye do, if ye will. Amen.
Alma 16:250 And they did nourish them, and did clothe them, and did give unto them lands for their inheritance; and they did administer unto them according to their wants.
Alma 16:251 Now this did stir up the Zoramites to anger against the people of Ammon, and they began to mix with the Lamanites, and to stir them up also to anger against them;
Alma 16:258 Now Alma, being grieved for the iniquity of his people, yea for the wars, and the bloodsheds, and the contentions which were among them; and having been to declare the word, or sent to declare the word, among all the people in every city;
Alma 17:53 Yea, all their murders, and robbings, and their plunderings, and all their wickedness, and abominations, may be made manifest unto this people; yea, and that ye preserve these directors.
Alma 20:37 And it came to pass that the Lamanites came up on the north of the north where a part of the army of Moroni was concealed.
Alma 20:38 And as the Lamanites had passed the hill Riplah, and come into the valley, and began to cross the river Sidon, the army which was concealed on the south of the hill, which was led by a man whose name was Lehi; and he led his army forth and encircled the Lamanites about, on the east in their rear.
Alma 20:41 They being shielded from the more vital parts of the body, or the more vital parts of the body being shielded from the strokes of the Lamanites, by their breastplates, and their arm-shields, and their head-plates; and thus the Nephites did carry on the work of death among the Lamanites.
Alma 20:44 And Lehi retained his armies upon the bank of the river Sidon, that they should not cross.
Alma 20:55 And it came to pass that they turned upon the Lamanites, and they cried with one voice unto the Lord their God, for their liberty, and their freedom from bondage.
Alma 20:89 And now Moroni was angry, because of the stubbornness of the Lamanites; therefore he commanded his people that they should fall upon them and slay them.
Alma 20:91 But behold, their naked skins, and their bare heads, were exposed to the sharp swords of the Nephites; yea, behold, they were pierced and smitten;
Alma 21:71 And it came to pass also, that he caused the title of liberty to be hoisted upon every tower which was in all the land, which was possessed by the Nephites; and thus Moroni planted the standard of liberty among the Nephites.
Alma 21:122 Drinking in with the traditions of the Lamanites, giving way to indolence, and all manner of lasciviousness; yea, entirely forgetting the Lord their God.
Alma 21:172 Thus they were prepared; yea, a body of their most strong men, with their swords and their slings, to smite down all who should attempt to come into their place of security, by the place of entrance; and thus were they prepared to defend themselves against the Lamanites.
Alma 21:174 But behold, they were driven back from time to time, insomuch that they were slain, with an immense slaughter.
Alma 22:13 Thus Moroni, with his armies, which did increase daily, because of the assurance of protection which his works did bring forth unto them; therefore they did seek to cut off the strength and the power of the Lamanites, from off the lands of their possessions, that they should have no power upon the lands of their possessions.
Alma 22:14 And it came to pass that the Nephites began the foundation of a city; and they called the name of the city Moroni; and it was by the east sea; and it was on the south by the line of the possessions of the Lamanites.
Alma 22:15 And they also began a foundation for a city between the city of Moroni and the city of Aaron, joining the borders of Aaron and Moroni; and they called the name of the city, or the land, Nephihah.
Alma 22:26 And it came to pass that in the commencement of the twenty and fourth year of the reign of the Judges, there would also have been peace among the people of Nephi, had it not been for a contention which took place among them concerning the land of Lehi, and the land of Morianton, which joined upon the borders of Lehi; both of which were on the borders by the sea-shore.
Alma 23:1 And now it came to pass in the commencement of the twenty and fifth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, they having established peace between the people of Lehi and the people of Morianton concerning their lands, and having commenced the twenty and fifth year in peace;
Alma 24:29 And it came to pass that the armies of the Lamanites did march forth against Teancum, supposing by their numbers to overpower Teancum, because of the smallness of his numbers.
Alma 24:30 And as Teancum saw the armies of the Lamanites coming out against him, he began to retreat down by the sea-shore northward.
Alma 25:54 And it came to pass that they did, notwithstanding all the intrigues of the Lamanites, keep and protect all the prisoners whom they had taken, and also maintain all the ground and the advantage which they had retaken.
Alma 26:32 And thus we were prepared with ten thousand men, and provisions for them, and also for their wives, and their children.
Alma 26:33 And the Lamanites, thus seeing our forces increase daily, and provisions arrive for our support, they began to be fearful, and began to sally forth, if it were possible, to put an end to our receiving provisions and strength.
Alma 26:60 The army of Antipus being weary, because of their long march in so short a space of time, were about to fall into the hands of the Lamanites; and had I not returned with my two thousand, they would have obtained their purpose;
Alma 26:61 For Antipus had fallen by the sword, and many of his leaders, because of their weariness, which was occasioned by the speed of their march; therefore the men of Antipus being confused, because of the fall of their leaders, began to give way before the Lamanites.
Alma 26:71 But I sent an epistle unto the king, that we were sure our forces were sufficient to take the city of Antiparah by our force; and by delivering up the prisoners for that city, we should suppose ourselves unwise, and that we would only deliver up our prisoners on exchange.
Alma 26:83 Therefore it became expedient that we should take those provisions and send them to Judea and our prisoners to the land of Zarahemla.
Alma 26:136 And it came to pass that when they saw that we were not strong, according to our numbers, and fearing that we should cut them off from their support, except they should come out to battle against us, and kill us,
Alma 26:148 And it came to pass that we took our course, after having traveled much in the wilderness, towards the land of Zarahemla.
Alma 27:3 And it came to pass that he immediately sent an epistle to Pahoran, desiring that he should cause men to be gathered together, to strengthen Helaman, or the armies of Helaman, insomuch that he might with ease maintain that part of the land which he had been so miraculously prospered in retaining.
Alma 27:10 Therefore he retained all his force to maintain those places which he had recovered.
Alma 29:57 And their judges, and their chief judges were chosen.
Alma 29:58 And the people of Nephi began to prosper again in the land, and began to multiply and to wax exceeding strong again in the land.
Helaman 1:Intro An account of the Nephites. Their wars and contentions, and their dissensions. And also the prophecies of many holy prophets, before the coming of Christ, according to the record of Helaman, who was the son of Helaman, and also according to the records of his sons, even down to the coming of Christ. And also many of the Lamanites are converted. An account of their conversion. An account of the righteousness of the Lamanites, and the wickedness and abominations of the Nephites, according to the record of Helaman and his sons, even down to the coming of Christ, which is called the book of Helaman, etc.
Helaman 1:1 And now behold, it came to pass in the commencement of the fortieth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, there began to be a serious difficulty among the people of the Nephites.
Helaman 1:30 But when Moronihah had discovered this, he immediately sent forth Lehi with an army round about to head them, before they should come to the land Bountiful.
Helaman 1:36 And thus ended the forty and first year of the reign of the Judges.
Helaman 2:7 And there being but little timber upon the face of the land, nevertheless the people who went forth became exceeding expert in the working of cement: therefore they did build houses of cement, in the which they did dwell.
Helaman 2:18 Nevertheless, Helaman did fill the judgment seat with justice and equity; yea, he did observe to keep the statutes, and the judgments, and the commandments of God; and he did do that which was right in the sight of God continually; and he did walk after the ways of his father, insomuch that he did prosper in the land.
Helaman 2:19 And it came to pass that he had two sons. He gave unto the eldest the name of Nephi, and unto the youngest the name of Lehi. And they began to grow up unto the Lord.
Helaman 2:28 And it came to pass that there were peace and exceeding great joy in the remainder of the forty and ninth year; yea, and also there were continual peace and great joy in the fiftieth year of the reign of the Judges.
Helaman 2:32 And it came to pass that the fifty and second year ended in peace also, save it were the exceeding great pride which had gotten into the hearts of the people; and it was because of their exceeding great riches, and their prosperity in the land; and it did grow upon them from day to day.
Helaman 2:54 And it came to pass because of the greatness of the number of the Lamanites, the Nephites were in great fear, lest they should be overpowered, and trodden down, and slain, and destroyed;
Helaman 2:57 And thus seeing that their laws had become corrupted, and that they had become a wicked people, insomuch that they were wicked even like unto the Lamanites.
Helaman 2:88 For they saw that the Lamanites durst not lay their hands upon them; neither durst they come near unto them, but stood as if they were struck dumb with amazement.
Helaman 2:137 And it came to pass that in the same year that his son, who had been appointed by the people in his stead, was also murdered. And thus ended the sixty and sixth year.
Helaman 2:138 And in the commencement of the sixty and seventh year, the people began to grow exceeding wicked again.
Helaman 2:139 For behold, the Lord had blessed them so long with the riches of the world, that they had not been stirred up to anger, to wars, nor to bloodsheds; therefore they began to set their hearts upon their riches;
Helaman 2:160 And they did grow in their iniquities, in the sixty and eighth year also, to the great sorrow and lamentation of the righteous.
Helaman 2:161 And thus we see that the Nephites did begin to dwindle in unbelief, and grow in wickedness and abominations, while the Lamanites began to grow exceedingly in the knowledge of their God; yea, they did begin to keep his statutes and commandments, and to walk in truth and uprightness before him.
Helaman 2:162 And thus we see that the Spirit of the Lord began to withdraw from the Nephites, because of the wickedness and the hardness of their hearts.
Helaman 3:42 And it came to pass that those people who sought to destroy Nephi, were compelled because of their fear, that they did not lay their hands on him.
Helaman 3:88 Nevertheless, they did rebuke the judges in the words which they had spoken against Nephi, and did contend with them one by one, insomuch that they did confound them.
Helaman 3:124 And now behold, I command you that ye shall go and declare unto this people that, Thus saith the Lord God, who is Almighty, except ye repent, ye shall be smitten, even unto destruction.
Helaman 3:130 And it came to pass that thus he did go forth in the Spirit, from multitude to multitude, declaring the word of God, even until he had declared it unto them all, or sent it forth among all the people.
Helaman 4:8 For the earth was smitten, that it was dry, and did not yield forth grain in the season of grain; and the whole earth was smitten, even among the Lamanites as well as among the Nephites, so that they were smitten that they did perish by thousands, in the more wicked parts of the land.
Helaman 4:9 And it came to pass that the people saw that they were about to perish by famine, and they began to remember the Lord their God; and they began to remember the words of Nephi.
Helaman 4:23 And behold, Lehi, his brother, was not a whit behind him as to things pertaining to righteousness.
Helaman 4:25 And it came to pass that the seventy and sixth year did end in peace.
Helaman 4:27 And also they had peace in the seventy and eighth year, save it were a few contentions concerning the points of doctrine which had been laid down by the prophets.
Helaman 4:43 And thus ended the eighty and first year of the reign of the Judges.
Helaman 4:44 And in the eighty and second year, they began again to forget the Lord their God.
Helaman 5:1 And now it came to pass in the eighty and sixth year, the Nephites did still remain in wickedness, yea, in great wickedness, while the Lamanites did observe strictly to keep the commandments of God, according to the Law of Moses.
Helaman 5:118 And because of the power of the devil which is in him, we can not hit him with our stones and our arrows; therefore take him and bind him, and away with him.
Helaman 5:123 And these were the conditions, also, in the eighty and eighth year of the reign of the Judges.
Helaman 5:124 And there was but little alteration in the affairs of the people, save it were the people began to be more hardened in iniquity, and do more and more of that which was contrary to the commandments of God, in the eighty and ninth year of the reign of the Judges.
Helaman 5:125 But it came to pass in the ninetieth year of the reign of the Judges, there were great signs given unto the people, and wonders; and the words of the prophets began to be fulfilled;
Helaman 5:126 And angels did appear unto men, wise men, and did declare unto them glad tidings of great joy; thus in this year the scriptures began to be fulfilled.
Helaman 5:128 Some things they may have guessed right, among so many; but behold, we know that all these great and marvelous works can not come to pass, of which has been spoken.

3 Nephi 1:36 And there was also a cause of much sorrow among the Lamanites, for behold, they had many children who did grow up and began to wax strong in years, that they became for themselves, and were led away by some who were Zoramites, by their lyings and their flattering words, to join those Gadianton robbers;
3 Nephi 1:37 And thus were the Lamanites afflicted also, and began to decrease as to their faith and righteousness, because of the wickedness of the rising generation.

3 Nephi 2:72 And now, Gidgiddoni, being aware of their design, and knowing of their weakness because of the want of food, and the great slaughter which had been made among them, therefore he did send out his armies in the night time, and did cut off the way of their retreat, and did place his armies in the way of their retreat;
3 Nephi 3:4 And they granted unto those robbers who had entered into a covenant to keep the peace of the land, who were desirous to remain Lamanites, lands, according to their numbers, that they might have, with their labors, wherewith to subsist upon; and thus they did establish peace in all the land.
