1 Nephi 1:53 And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto me, saying, Blessed art thou Nephi, because of thy faith, for thou hast sought me diligently, with lowliness of heart.

1 Nephi 1:64 Therefore go, my son, and thou shalt be favored of the Lord, because thou hast not murmured.
1 Nephi 1:75 But, behold, I said unto them, that as the Lord liveth, and as we live, we will not go down unto our father in the wilderness, until we have accomplished the thing which the Lord hath commanded us.
1 Nephi 1:77 Therefore let us go down to the land of our father's inheritance, for behold he left gold and silver, and all manner of riches.
1 Nephi 1:83 And also that we may preserve unto them the words which have been spoken by the mouth of all the holy prophets, which have been delivered unto them by the spirit and power of God, since the world began, even down unto this present time.
1 Nephi 1:98 Behold he is a mighty man, and he can command fifty, yea, even he can slay fifty; then why not us?
1 Nephi 1:111 But I said in my heart, Never at any time have I shed the blood of man, and I shrunk and would that I might not slay him.
1 Nephi 1:115 It is better that one man should perish, than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief.
1 Nephi 1:116 And now, when I, Nephi, had heard these words, I remembered the words of the Lord which he spake unto me in the wilderness, saying, That inasmuch as thy seed shall keep my commandments, they shall prosper in the land of promise.
1 Nephi 1:118 And I also knew that the law was engraven upon the plates of brass.

1 Nephi 1:172 And it came to pass that thus far I and my father had kept the commandments wherewith the Lord had commanded us.
1 Nephi 4:10 And they said unto me, We have not; for the Lord maketh no such thing known unto us.
1 Nephi 4:12 How is it that ye will perish because of the hardness of your hearts?
1 Nephi 4:41 Wherefore, I, Nephi, did exhort them to give heed unto the word of the Lord;
1 Nephi 5:3 And now, my brethren, if ye were righteous, and were willing to hearken to the truth, and give heed unto it, that ye might walk uprightly before God, then ye would not murmur because of the truth, and say, Thou speakest hard things against us.
1 Nephi 5:7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, took one of the daughters of Ishmael to wife; and also, my brethren took of the daughters of Ishmael to wife; and also, Zoram took the eldest daughter of Ishmael to wife.
1 Nephi 5:57 And so great were the blessings of the Lord upon us, that while we did live upon raw meat in the wilderness, our women did give plenty of suck for their children, and were strong, yea, even like unto the men; and they began to bear their journeyings without murmurings.
1 Nephi 5:58 And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled.
1 Nephi 5:77 And I will also be your light in the wilderness;
1 Nephi 5:78 And I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments;
1 Nephi 5:82 Yea, that I did bring you out of the land of Jerusalem.
1 Nephi 5:98 And we know that the people who were in the land of Jerusalem, were a righteous people;
1 Nephi 5:225 Wherefore I, Nephi, did make a record upon the other plates, which gives an account, or which gives a greater account of the wars and contentions and destructions of my people.
1 Nephi 7:66 Wherefore, my brethren, I would that ye should consider that the things which have been written upon the plates of brass, are true;
1 Nephi 7:68 Wherefore, ye need not suppose that I and my father are the only ones that have testified, and also taught them.
2 Nephi 1:11 Wherefore, this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring.
2 Nephi 1:17 For, behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance.
2 Nephi 1:19 And they shall be kept from all other nations, that they may possess this land unto themselves.
2 Nephi 1:21 And there shall be none to molest them, nor to take away the land of their inheritance; and they shall dwell safely for ever.
2 Nephi 1:33 O my sons, that these things might not come upon you, but that ye might be a choice and a favored people of the Lord!
2 Nephi 1:39 Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust.
2 Nephi 1:57 And nothing, save it shall be iniquity among them, shall harm or disturb their prosperity upon the face of this land for ever.
2 Nephi 1:107 And the days of the children of men were prolonged, according to the will of God, that they might repent while in the flesh;

2 Nephi 3:8 For the Lord God hath said, That inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land;
2 Nephi 4:13 And all those who were with me, did take upon them to call themselves the people of Nephi.
2 Nephi 4:46 And it came to pass that the Lord God said unto me, Make other plates; and thou shalt engraven many things upon them which are good in my sight, for the profit of thy people.
2 Nephi 6:55 And they are restored to that God who gave them breath, which is the Holy One of Israel.
2 Nephi 11:46 Wherefore, the law hath become dead unto us, and we are made alive in Christ, because of our faith;
2 Nephi 12:75 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I would speak unto you: for I, Nephi, would not suffer that ye should suppose that ye are more righteous than the Gentiles shall be.
2 Nephi 13:8 And now, I would ask of you, my beloved brethren, wherein the Lamb of God did fulfill all righteousness in being baptized by water? Know ye not that he was holy?
2 Nephi 13:12 And he said unto the children of men, Follow thou me.
2 Nephi 13:17 Yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel.
2 Nephi 13:24 For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water: and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire, and by the Holy Ghost.

Jacob 2:54 Behold, the Lamanites, your brethren, whom ye hate, because of their filthiness and the cursings which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you;
Jacob 3:139 And if ye labor with your mights with me, ye shall have joy in the fruit which I shall lay up unto myself, against the time which will soon come.
Jacob 3:142 And the wild branches began to be plucked off, and to be cast away; and they did keep the root and the top thereof equal, according to the strength thereof.
Jacob 3:146 And I have preserved the natural fruit, that it is good, even like as it was in the beginning; and blessed art thou.
Enos 1:13 And while I was thus struggling in the spirit, behold, the voice of the Lord came unto my mind again, saying,
Omni 1:2 Wherefore, in my days, I would that ye should know that I fought much with the sword, to preserve my people, the Nephites, from falling into the hands of their enemies, the Lamanites.
Omni 1:4 And it came to pass that two hundred and seventy and six years had passed away, and we had many seasons of peace; and we had many seasons of serious war and bloodshed.
Omni 1:7 Behold, it came to pass that three hundred and twenty years had passed away, and the more wicked part of the Nephites were destroyed:
Omni 1:11 Now I, Chemish, write what few things I write, in the same book with my brother: for behold, I saw the last which he wrote, that he wrote it with his own hand; and he wrote it in the day that he delivered them unto me.
Jarom 1:21 And thus being prepared to meet the Lamanites, they did not prosper against us.
Jarom 1:22 But the word of the Lord was verified, which he spake unto our fathers, saying, That inasmuch as ye will keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land.
Jarom 1:31 But behold, my brethren, ye can go to the other plates of Nephi: for behold, upon them the record of our wars are engraven, according to the writings of the kings, or those which they caused to be written.
Mosiah 1:3 And he caused that they should be taught in all the language of his fathers, that thereby they might become men of understanding; and that they might know concerning the prophecies which had been spoken by the mouths of their fathers, which were delivered them by the hand of the Lord.
Mosiah 1:5 For it were not possible that our father Lehi could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates:
Mosiah 1:6 For he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians, therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.
Mosiah 1:11 And now, my sons, I would that ye should remember to search them diligently, that ye may profit thereby;
Mosiah 1:16 For on the morrow, I shall proclaim unto this my people, out of mine own mouth, that thou art a king and a ruler over this people, whom the Lord our God hath given us.
Mosiah 1:31 And also, that they might give thanks to the Lord their God, who had brought them out of the land of Jerusalem, and who had delivered them out of the hands of their enemies, and had appointed just men to be their teachers, and also, a just man to be their king,
Mosiah 1:44 Neither have I suffered that ye should be confined in dungeons, nor that ye should make slaves one of another, or that ye should murder, or plunder, or steal, or commit adultery,
Mosiah 1:54 I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole soul, yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
Mosiah 1:55 And behold, all that he requires of you, is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments, ye should prosper in the land;
Mosiah 1:70 And now, my brethren, I would that ye should do as ye have hitherto done.
Mosiah 1:71 As ye have kept my commandments, and also the commandments of my father, and have prospered, and have been kept from falling into the hands of your enemies,
Mosiah 1:87 I pray that ye should awake to a remembrance of the awful situation of those that have fallen into transgression;
Mosiah 2:9 I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long suffering towards the children of men,
Mosiah 2:48 And finally, I can not tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin: for there are divers ways and means, even so many, that I can not number them.
Mosiah 3:5 And it is the faith which we have had on the things which our king has spoken unto us, and has brought us to this great knowledge, whereby we do rejoice with such exceeding great joy;
Mosiah 3:21 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him, who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.
Mosiah 4:3 And again: It came to pass that when King Benjamin had made an end of all these things, and had consecrated his son Mosiah, to be a ruler and a king over his people, and had given him all the charges concerning the kingdom,
Mosiah 4:7 And King Benjamin lived three years and he died.
Mosiah 6:47 And again: that they were wronged while in the land of their first inheritance, after they had crossed the sea;
Mosiah 7:1 And now it came to pass that Zeniff conferred the kingdom upon Noah, one of his sons; therefore Noah began to reign in his stead; and he did not walk in the ways of his father.
Mosiah 7:93 And they answered and said, that salvation did come by the Law of Moses.
Mosiah 7:94 But now Abinadi said unto them, I know if ye keep the commandments of God, ye shall be saved;
Mosiah 7:102 Neither have I told you that which ye requested that I should tell: therefore, God will not suffer that I shall be destroyed at this time.
Mosiah 7:110 But this much I tell you: What you do with me, after this, shall be as a type and a shadow of things which are to come.
Mosiah 7:113 And now, ye remember that I said unto you, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of things which are in heaven above, or which are in the earth beneath, or which are in the water under the earth.
Mosiah 7:124 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man servant, nor his maid servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.
Mosiah 8:55 And there cometh a resurrection, even a first resurrection; yea, even a resurrection of those that have been, and who are, and who shall be, even until the resurrection of Christ: for so shall he be called.
Mosiah 8:61 But behold, and fear, and tremble before God; for ye ought to tremble: for the Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him, and die in their sins;
Mosiah 9:40 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life:
Mosiah 9:173 Yea, they did mourn for their departure, for they knew not whither they had fled.
Mosiah 9:174 Now they would have gladly joined with them, for they themselves had entered into a covenant with God, to serve him, and keep his commandments.
Mosiah 11:14 Yea, even out of the hands of King Noah and his people, and also from the bonds of iniquity, even so I desire that ye should stand fast in this liberty wherewith ye have been made free, and that ye trust no man to be a king over you;
Mosiah 11:141 Now I say unto you, Go; and whosoever will not repent of his sins, the same shall not be numbered among my people: and this shall be observed from this time forward.
Mosiah 11:161 And he became a great hinderment to the prosperity of the church of God; stealing away the hearts of the people, causing much dissension among the people; giving a chance for the enemy of God to exercise his power over them.
Mosiah 11:201 Traveling round about through all the land, publishing to all the people the things which they had heard and seen, and preaching the word of God in much tribulation, being greatly persecuted by those who were unbelievers, being smitten by many of them;
Mosiah 12:14 Now King Mosiah had no one to confer the kingdom upon, for there was not any of his sons who would accept of the kingdom;
Mosiah 13:14 Therefore I will be your king the remainder of my days;
Mosiah 13:16 Now it is better that a man should be judged of God than of man, for the judgments of God are always just, but the judgments of man are not always just;
Mosiah 13:17 Therefore, if it were possible that ye could have just men to be your kings, who would establish the laws of God, and judge this people according to his commandments; yea, if ye could have men for your kings, who would do even as my father Benjamin did for this people, I say unto you, If this could always be the case, then it would be expedient that ye should always have kings to rule over you.
Mosiah 13:28 And behold, now I say unto you, Ye can not dethrone an iniquitous king, save it be through much contention, and the shedding of much blood.
Mosiah 13:51 Yea, all his iniquities and abominations, and all the wars, and contentions, and bloodshed, and the stealing, and the plundering, and the committing of whoredoms, and all manner of iniquities, which can not be enumerated,
Mosiah 13:63 And it came to pass that Alma was appointed to be the chief judge; he being also the high priest; his father having conferred the office upon him, and had given him the charge concerning all the affairs of the church.
Mosiah 13:65 And thus commenced the reign of the judges throughout all the land of Zarahemla, among all the people who were called the Nephites: And Alma was the first and chief judge.
Alma 1:35 And also many withdrew themselves from among them.
Alma 1:108 Therefore whosoever suffered himself to be led away by the Lamanites, was called under that head, and there was a mark set upon him.
Alma 3:34 Or otherwise, can ye imagine yourselves brought before the tribunal of God, with your souls filled with guilt and remorse; having a remembrance of all your guilt;
Alma 3:71 And now my brethren, I would that ye should hear me, for I speak in the energy of my soul;
Alma 5:26 Yea, I say unto you, Come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction;
Alma 5:27 Yea, come and go forth, and shew unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins, and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day, by going into the waters of baptism;
Alma 5:38 And now my beloved brethren, I have said these things unto you, that I might awaken you to a sense of your duty to God, that ye may walk blameless before him; that ye may walk after the holy order of God, after which ye have been received.
Alma 6:18 It came to pass that while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying, Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice:
Alma 6:21 Yea, say unto them, except they repent, the Lord God will destroy them.
Alma 7:7 And they stood forth to lay their hands on me; but behold, they did not.
Alma 7:14 But behold, this is not all: he has commanded you to repent, or he will utterly destroy you from off the face of the earth; yea, he will visit you in his anger, and in his fierce anger he will not turn away.
Alma 7:15 Behold, do ye not remember the words which he spake unto Lehi, saying, that inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land?
Alma 7:16 And again it is said, that inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments, ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord.
Alma 9:50 And this he made known unto them according to their faith and repentance, and their holy works;
Alma 9:51 Wherefore he gave commandments unto men, they having first transgressed the first commandments as to things which were temporal, and becoming as gods, knowing good from evil, placing themselves in a state to act, or being placed in a state to act according to their wills and pleasures, whether to do evil or to do good;
Alma 9:59 Yea, according to his word in the last provocation, as well as the first, to the everlasting destruction of your souls; therefore, according to his word, unto the last death, as well as the first.
Alma 9:61 But let us enter into the rest of God, which is prepared according to his word.
Alma 9:68 Or in fine: in the first place they were on the same standing with their brethren; thus this holy calling being prepared from the foundation of the world for such as would not harden their hearts, being in and through the atonement of the only begotten Son, who was prepared;
Alma 12:79 Now when King Lamoni heard that Ammon was preparing his horses and his chariots, he was more astonished, because of the faithfulness of Ammon, saying,
Alma 13:28 And Ammon did preach unto the people of King Lamoni. And it came to pass that he did teach them all things concerning things pertaining to righteousness.
Alma 13:43 And he said, Yea, I believe that the Great Spirit created all things, and I desire that ye should tell me concerning all these things, and I will believe thy words.
Alma 14:73 And it came to pass that when the Lamanites saw that they could not overpower the Nephites, they returned again to their own land; and many of them came over to dwell in the land of Ishmael and the land of Nephi, and did join themselves to the people of God, who were the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi;
Alma 16:2 Now their dead were not numbered, because of the greatness of their numbers, neither were the dead of the Nephites numbered;
Alma 16:85 Now the Zoramites were dissenters from the Nephites; therefore they had the word of God preached unto them.
Alma 16:260 Therefore, he caused that his sons should be gathered together that he might give unto them every one his charge, separately, concerning the things pertaining unto righteousness.
Alma 16:261 And we have an account of his commandments, which he gave unto them according to his own record.
Alma 17:Intro The commandments of Alma, to his son, Helaman.
Alma 17:10 But I was racked with eternal torment, for my soul was harrowed up to the greatest degree, and racked with all my sins. Yea, I did remember all my sins and iniquities, for which I was tormented with the pains of hell;
Alma 17:28 And I have always retained in remembrance their captivity: yea, and ye also ought to retain in remembrance, as I have done, their captivity.
Alma 17:29 But behold, my son, this is not all; for ye ought to know, as I do know, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God, ye shall prosper in the land;
Alma 17:42 And it may suffice, If I only say, they are preserved for a wise purpose, which purpose is known unto God: for he doth counsel in wisdom over all his works, and his paths are straight and his course is one eternal round.
Alma 17:43 O remember, remember, my son Helaman, how strict are the commandments of God.
Alma 17:45 And now remember, my son, that God has entrusted you with these things, which are sacred, which he has kept sacred, and also which he will keep and preserve for a wise purpose in him, that he may shew forth his power unto future generations.
Alma 17:46 And now behold, I tell you by the spirit of prophecy, that if ye transgress the commandments of God, behold, these things which are sacred, shall be taken away from you by the power of God, and ye shall be delivered up unto Satan, that he may sift you as chaff before the wind;
Alma 17:50 And now behold, one purpose hath he fulfilled, even to the restoration of many thousands of the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth; and he hath shewn forth his power in them, and he will also still shew forth his power in them, unto future generations; therefore they shall be preserved;
Alma 17:67 Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart: for such shall find rest to their souls.
Alma 17:84 Go unto this people, and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell.
Alma 18:Intro The commandments of Alma, to his son, Shiblon.
Alma 18:1 My son, give ear to my words; for I say unto you, even as I said unto Helaman, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God, ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God, ye shall be cast off from his presence.
Alma 18:18 Now go, my son, and teach the word unto this people. Be sober. My son, farewell.

Alma 21:50 And it came to pass that when Moroni had proclaimed these words, behold, the people came running together, with their armor girded about their loins, rending their garments in token, or as a covenant, that they would not forsake the Lord their God;
Alma 21:54 Moroni said unto them, Behold, we are a remnant of the seed of Jacob; yea, we are a remnant of the seed of Joseph, whose coat was rent by his brethren, into many pieces;
Alma 21:79 And it came to pass that when the proclamation had gone forth among them, they were exceeding fraid; yea, they feared to displease the king, and they also feared to go to battle against the Nephites, lest they should lose their lives.
Alma 21:86 And it came to pass that they had gathered themselves together upon the top of the mount which was called Antipas in preparation to battle.
Alma 21:136 Yea, and they were also taught never to give an offense; yea, and never to raise the sword, except it were against an enemy, except it were to preserve their lives;
Alma 21:138 And also that God would make it known unto them, whither they should go to defend themselves against their enemies; and by so doing, the Lord would deliver them, and this was the faith of Moroni;
Alma 21:147 Nevertheless, they could not suffer to lay down their lives, that their wives and their children should be massacred by the barbarous cruelty of those who were once their brethren, yea, and had dissented from their church, and had left them, and had gone to destroy them, by joining the Lamanites;
Alma 21:182 And it came to pass that he was exceeding angry with his people, because he had not obtained his desire over the Nephites; he had not subjected them to the yoke of bondage;
Alma 22:19 And thus we see how merciful and just are all the dealings of the Lord, to the fulfilling of all his words unto the children of men;
Alma 22:20 Yea, we can behold that his words are verified, even at this time, which he spake unto Lehi saying, Blessed art thou and thy children; and they shall be blessed; inasmuch as they shall keep my commandments, they shall prosper in the land.
Alma 22:22 And we see that these promises have been verified to the people of Nephi; for it has been their quarrelings and their contentions, yea, their murderings, and their plunderings, their idolatry, their whoredoms, and their abominations, which were among themselves, which brought upon them their wars and their destructions.
Alma 24:76 And they were all young men, and they were exceeding valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all: they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted;
Alma 26:166 But behold they have received many wounds; nevertheless they stand fast in that liberty wherewith God has made them free;
Alma 27:37 Or is it that ye have neglected us because ye are in the heart of our country, and ye are surrounded by security, that ye do not cause food to be sent unto us, and also men to strengthen our armies?
Alma 27:46 And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority, shall become extinct;
Alma 27:54 Behold, the Lord saith unto me, If those whom ye have appointed your governors, do not repent of their sins and iniquities, ye shall go up to battle against them.

Helaman 2:54 And it came to pass because of the greatness of the number of the Lamanites, the Nephites were in great fear, lest they should be overpowered, and trodden down, and slain, and destroyed;
Helaman 2:66 And it came to pass that Nephi had become weary, because of their iniquity; and he yielded up the judgment seat, and took it upon him to preach the word of God all the remainder of his days, and his brother Lehi also, all the remainder of his days; for they remembered the words which their father Helaman spake unto them.
Helaman 2:76 And it came to pass that these were the words which Helaman taught to his sons; yea, he did teach them many things which are not written, and also many things which are written.
Helaman 2:157 And now behold, he had got great hold upon the hearts of the Nephites; yea, insomuch that they had become exceeding wicked;
Helaman 2:160 And they did grow in their iniquities, in the sixty and eighth year also, to the great sorrow and lamentation of the righteous.
Helaman 3:2 And they did reject all his words, insomuch that he could not stay among them, but returned again unto the land of his nativity;
Helaman 3:6 And he did exclaim in the agony of his soul, O that I could have had my days in the days when my father Nephi first came out of the land of Jerusalem, that I could have joyed with him in the promised land;
Helaman 3:34 Why seest thou this man and hearest him revile against this people and against our law?
Helaman 3:115 Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word which I have given unto thee, unto this people.
Helaman 5:Intro The prophecy of Samuel, the Lamanite, to the Nephites.
Helaman 5:92 But behold, salvation hath come unto them, through the preaching of the Nephites; and for this intent hath the Lord prolonged their days.
Helaman 5:123 And these were the conditions, also, in the eighty and eighth year of the reign of the Judges.
3 Nephi 2:104 Surely he hath blessed the house of Jacob, and hath been merciful unto the seed of Joseph.
3 Nephi 3:15 And thus there became a great inequality in all the land, insomuch that the church began to be broken up; yea, insomuch that in the thirtieth year the church was broken up in all the land, save it were among a few of the Lamanites, who were converted unto the true faith;
3 Nephi 5:65 For verily I say unto you, One jot nor one tittle hath not passed away from the law, but in me it hath all been fulfilled.
3 Nephi 5:66 And behold I have given you the law and the commandments of my Father, that ye shall believe in me, and that ye shall repent of your sins, and come unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.
3 Nephi 5:67 Behold, ye have the commandments before you, and the law is fulfilled; therefore come unto me and be ye saved;
3 Nephi 7:10 Behold, I am the law, and the light; look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live, for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life.
3 Nephi 8:38 And it came to pass that they did so, and did drink of it, and were filled; and they gave unto the multitude, and they did drink, and they were filled.
3 Nephi 8:45 And when the rain descends, and the floods come, and the winds blow, and beat upon them, they shall fall, and the gates of hell are already open to receive them:
3 Nephi 8:58 And now it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he turned his eyes again upon the disciples whom he had chosen, and said unto them,
3 Nephi 8:66 Therefore keep these sayings which I have commanded you, that ye come not under condemnation, for wo unto him whom the Father condemneth.
4 Nephi 1:12 And they were married, and given in marriage, and were blessed according to the multitude of the promises which the Lord had made unto them.
Moroni 4:1 The manner of their elders and priests administering the flesh and blood of Christ unto the church:
Moroni 4:3 And they did kneel down with the church and prayed to the Father in the name of Christ, saying,
Moroni 8:11 Behold I say unto you, that this thing shall ye teach, repentance and baptism unto those who are accountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little children, and they shall all be saved with their little children: and their little children need no repentance, neither baptism.
Moroni 8:28 Behold, my son, this thing ought not to be; for repentance is unto them that are under condemnation, and under the curse of a broken law.
Moroni 10:31 And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen. The End
DC 1:1d and the voice of warning shall be unto all people, by the mouths of my disciples, whom I have chosen in these last days, and they shall go forth and none shall stay them, for I the Lord have commanded them.
DC 1:3e but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol, which waxeth old and shall perish in Babylon, even Babylon the great, which shall fall.
DC 1:4e that the fullness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple, unto the ends of the world, and before kings and rulers.
DC 1:5d and after having received the record of the Nephites, yea, even my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., might have power to translate, through the mercy of God, by the power of God, the Book of Mormon;
DC 1:5e and also those to whom these commandments were given might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity, and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I the Lord am well pleased, speaking unto the church collectively and not individually;
DC 1:6c and also the Lord shall have power over his saints, and shall reign in their midst, and shall come down in judgment upon Idumea*, or the world.*Idumea: Edom (ancient)
DC 2:2b for although a man may have many revelations, and have power to do many mighty works, yet, if he boast in his own strength, and sets at naught the counsels of God, and follows after the dictates of his own will and carnal desires, he must fall and incur the vengeance of a just God upon him.
DC 2:3a Behold, you have been intrusted with these things, but how strict were your commandments;
DC 3:6d Thus Satan thinketh to overpower your testimony in this generation, that the work may not come forth in this generation;
DC 3:13b Now I do not say this to destroy my church, but I say this to build up my church; therefore, whosoever belongeth to my church need not fear, for such shall inherit the kingdom of heaven;
DC 5:4a And now I command you, my servant Joseph, to repent and walk more uprightly before me, and yield to the persuasions of men no more;
DC 5:5e but if he deny this he will break the covenant which he has before covenanted with me, and behold he is condemned.
DC 5:6c And now, because I foresee the lying in wait to destroy thee; yea, I foresee that if my servant Martin Harris humbleth not himself, and receive a witness from my hand, that he will fall into transgression; and there are many that lie in wait to destroy thee from off the face of the earth;
DC 5:6d and for this cause, that thy days may be prolonged, I have given unto thee these commandments; yea, for this cause I have said, Stop and stand still until I command thee, and I will provide means whereby thou mayest accomplish the thing which I have commanded thee;
DC 6:2c therefore, if you will ask of me you shall receive, if you will knock it shall be opened unto you.
DC 6:4a Verily, verily I say unto you, Even as you desire of me, so shall it be unto you; and if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation.
DC 6:9a Behold, thou art Oliver, and I have spoken unto thee because of thy desires; therefore, treasure up these words in thy heart.
DC 6:16b Behold, I do not condemn you, go your ways and sin no more: perform with soberness the work which I have commanded you; look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not:
DC 8:2b therefore this is thy gift; apply unto it and blessed art thou, for it shall deliver you out of the hands of your enemies, when, if it were not so, they would slay you, and bring your soul to destruction.
DC 10:2c therefore, if you will ask of me, you shall receive; if you will knock, it shall be opened unto you.
DC 10:4b Say nothing but repentance unto this generation.
DC 10:8c and then, behold, according to your desires, yea, even according to your faith, shall it be done unto you.
DC 10:9b yea, cleave unto me with all your heart, that you may assist in bringing to light those things of which have been spoken; yea, the translation of my work; be patient until you shall accomplish it.
DC 10:12b but verily, verily I say unto you, that as many as receive me, them will I give power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on my name. Amen.
DC 11:3a Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you,
DC 12:3a Seek to bring forth and establish my Zion.
DC 13:1c for many times you have desired of me to know that which would be of the most worth unto you.
DC 14:1c for many times you have desired of me to know that which would be of the most worth unto you.
DC 15:3a Wherefore you have received the same power, and the same faith, and the same gift like unto him;
DC 16:2c And now marvel not that I have called him unto mine own purpose, which purpose is known in me;
DC 16:6d You must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ; for all men must repent and be baptized, and not only men, but women; and children who have arrived to the years of accountability.
DC 16:7c wherefore, the blessings which I give unto you are above all things.
DC 16:7e Behold I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, and your Redeemer, by the power of my Spirit, have spoken it. Amen.
DC 17:Intro SECTION 17
This section is a compilation of instructions received from time to time in connection with the organization of the church. The "Book of Commandments" describes the section as "the Articles and Covenants of the Church of Christ, given in Fayette, New York, June, 1830," but that part of the instruction which set the date for the organization of the church was given prior to April 6, 1830.
Joseph wrote in "Times and Seasons" (3:928):
"In this manner did the Lord continue to give us instructions from time to time concerning the duties which now devolved upon us, and among many other things of the kind, we obtained of him the following, by the spirit of prophecy and revelation, which not only gave us much information, but also pointed out to us the precise day upon which according to his will and commandment, we should proceed to organize his church once again, here upon the earth."
All editions of the Doctrine and Covenants include paragraphs 16 and 17 of this section, which did not appear in the "Book of Commandments." This further instruction was probably received after July 20, 1833, and selected for inclusion with related material in this section on the same principle as other material received at different times.
DC 17:1a The rise of the church of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly organized and established agreeably to the laws of our country, by the will and commandments of God in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April;
DC 17:2b but after repenting, and humbling himself, sincerely, through faith, God ministered unto him by an holy angel whose countenance was as lightning, and whose garments were pure and white above all other whiteness,
DC 17:4a By these things we know that there is a God in heaven who is infinite and eternal, from everlasting to everlasting the same unchangeable God, the framer of heaven and earth and all things which are in them, and that he created man male and female;
DC 17:22c He shall kneel with the church and call upon the Father in solemn prayer, saying,
DC 18:2e Eternal punishment is God's punishment. Endless punishment is God's punishment.
DC 19:1c which church was organized and established, in the year of your Lord eighteen hundred and thirty, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month, which is called April.
DC 20:1d Wherefore, enter ye in at the gate, as I have commanded, and seek not to counsel your God. Amen.
DC 24:4a Continue in the spirit of meekness, and beware of pride. Let thy soul delight in thy husband, and the glory which shall come upon him.
DC 25:1b And all things shall be done by common consent in the church, by much prayer and faith; for all things you shall receive by faith. Amen.
DC 27:Intro SECTION 27
Revelation given to Oliver Cowdery through Joseph Smith, Jr., in September 1830 at Fayette, New York.
Hiram Page had come into possession of a stone by use of which he had obtained certain "revelations" concerning the building of Zion, church organization, and similar matters. Oliver Cowdery and the Whitmer family, to whom Hiram was related, tended to accept his claims. The instruction now received appoints Oliver to an important mission and then sets forth the associated principles of prophetic guidance and common consent according to the church covenants and the prayer of faith. It should be noted that Oliver, who had shared responsibility for the difficulties which had arisen, is now commanded to take responsibility for their settlement.
DC 27:1 Behold, I say unto thee, Oliver, that it shall be given unto thee that thou shalt be heard by the church in all things whatsoever thou shalt teach them by the Comforter, concerning the revelations and commandments which I have given.
DC 27:2a But, behold, verily, verily I say unto thee, No one shall be appointed to receive commandments and revelations in this church excepting my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., for he receiveth them even as Moses;
DC 28:3a And again, verily, verily I say unto you, and it hath gone forth in a firm decree, by the will of the Father,
DC 28:9b behold, I gave unto him that he should be an agent unto himself; and I gave unto him commandment, but no temporal commandment gave I unto him;
DC 29:1c wherefore, you are left to inquire for yourself, at my hand, and ponder upon the things which you have received.
DC 29:2d and none have I appointed to be his counselor, over him, in the church, concerning church matters, except it is his brother Joseph Smith, Jr.
DC 34:5d and inasmuch as ye do not write, behold, it shall be given unto him to prophesy; and thou shalt preach my gospel; and call on the holy prophets to prove his words, as they shall be given him.
DC 36:7a The Lord said unto Enoch, Behold these your brethren; they are the workmanship of my own hands, and I gave unto them their knowledge, in the day I created them;
DC 41:3a And again, it is meet that my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., should have a house built, in which to live and translate.
DC 42:Intro SECTION 42
Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., and addressed to the elders of the church. It was given February 9, 1831, in the presence of twelve elders who had assembled at Kirtland, Ohio, in harmony with instruction given them in an earlier revelation (D. and C. 41:1b). In the 1835 edition of the Doctrine and Covenants this revelation appears as Section 13, and is headed "Laws of the Church."
DC 42:7g Thou knowest my laws concerning these things are given in my Scriptures; he that sinneth and repenteth not, shall be cast out.
DC 42:8c and inasmuch as ye impart of your substance unto the poor, ye will do it unto me, and it shall be laid before the bishop of my church and his counselors, two of the elders, or high priests, such as he shall or has appointed and set apart for that purpose.
DC 42:20c And again I say unto you, that ye shall be watchful and careful, with all inquiry, that ye receive none such among you if they are married, and if they are not married, they shall repent of all their sins, or ye shall not receive them.
DC 43:Intro SECTION 43
Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., February 1831 at Kirtland, Ohio. It is addressed to the elders of the church, and contains directions sought by Joseph for the guidance of some who had been misled by a Mrs. Hubble, who claimed to have received "revelations" concerning the government of the church. A similar difficulty had arisen in connection with Hiram Page's "peepstone" (see section 27). The church was not again disturbed over this question until the death of Joseph Smith in 1844.
DC 43:1a O hearken, ye elders of my church, and give ear to the words which I shall speak unto you: for, behold, verily, verily I say unto you, that ye have received a commandment for a law unto my church, through him whom I have appointed unto you, to receive commandments and revelations from my hand.
DC 43:2a But verily, verily I say unto you, that none else shall be appointed unto this gift except it be through him, for if it be taken from him he shall not have power, except to appoint another in his stead;
DC 43:2c For verily I say unto you, that he that is ordained of me, shall come in at the gate and be ordained as I have told you before, to teach those revelations which you have received, and shall receive through him whom I have appointed.
DC 43:8b Treasure these things up in your hearts, and let the solemnities of eternity rest upon your minds.
DC 46:3b but ye are commanded in all things to ask of God, who giveth liberally, and that which the Spirit testifies unto you, even so I would that you should do in all holiness of heart,
DC 46:4a Wherefore, beware, lest ye are deceived, and that ye may not be deceived, seek ye earnestly the best gifts, always remembering for what they are given;
DC 48:2c and they shall be appointed to purchase the lands, and to make a commencement, to lay the foundation of the city;
DC 53:2b Take upon you mine ordinances, even that of an elder, to preach faith and repentance, and remission of sins, according to my word, and the reception of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands.
DC 56:1a Hearken, O ye people who profess my name, saith the Lord your God, for, behold, mine anger is kindled against the rebellious, and they shall know mine arm and mine indignation in the day of visitation and of wrath upon the nations.
DC 57:Intro SECTION 57
Revelation addressed to the elders who had come to Independence, Missouri, in fulfillment of the instructions given them in Kirtland. It was given through Joseph Smith, Jr., in July 1831. In it the Center Place and "the spot for the temple" are designated, and the instructions previously given to Edward Partridge, Sidney Gilbert, W. W. Phelps, and Oliver Cowdery are confirmed.
DC 58:1a Hearken, O ye elders of my church, and give ear to my word, and learn of me what I will concerning you, and also concerning this land unto which I have sent you;
DC 58:6f But he that doeth not anything until he is commanded, and receiveth a commandment with doubtful heart, and keepeth it with slothfulness, the same is damned.
DC 59:Intro SECTION 59
Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., prophet and seer to the church, August 7, 1831, in Missouri. Events were happening very rapidly during the week of August 1 to August 7. Monday, August 2, Joseph assisted the Colesville Saints to lay the first log for a house as the foundation for Zion. It was consecrated and dedicated by Elder Rigdon for the gathering of the Saints. August 3, the spot for the Temple, a little west of the center of Independence, was dedicated. August 4, the first conference in the land of Zion was held in the home of Joshua Lewis in Kaw township. August 7 was the funeral of Polly Knight, mother of Newel Knight. This was the first death in the church in the land of Zion. These important events constitute the background for this revelation.
DC 59:1b yea, blessed are they whose feet stand upon the land of Zion, who have obeyed my gospel, for they shall receive for their reward the good things of the earth;
DC 59:5a And it pleaseth God that he hath given all these things unto man; for unto this end were they made, to be used with judgment, not to excess, neither by extortion:
DC 63:3c Yea, signs come by faith, unto mighty works, for without faith no man pleaseth God: and with whom God is angry he is not well pleased: wherefore, unto such he showeth no signs, only in wrath unto their condemnation.
DC 63:6b nevertheless he that endureth in faith and doeth my will, the same shall overcome, and shall receive an inheritance upon the earth, when the day of transfiguration shall come; when the earth shall be transfigured, even according to the pattern which was shown unto mine apostles upon the mount; of which account the fullness ye have not yet received.
DC 63:7a And now, verily I say unto you, that as I said that I would make known my will unto you, behold, I will make it known unto you, not by the way of commandment, for there are many who observe not to keep my commandments;
DC 63:16c These things remain to overcome, through patience, that such may receive a more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; otherwise, a greater condemnation. Amen.
DC 64:3a Verily I say, For this cause ye shall do these things.
DC 67:1c Ye endeavored to believe that ye should receive the blessing which was offered unto you, but, behold, verily, I say unto you, There were fears in your hearts; and verily this is the reason that ye did not receive.
DC 67:2a And now, I, the Lord, give unto you a testimony of the truth of these commandments which are lying before you; your eyes have been upon my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., and his language you have known; and his imperfections you have known; and you have sought in your hearts knowledge, that you might express beyond his language:
DC 67:4 Let not your minds turn back, and when ye are worthy, in mine own due time, ye shall see and know that which was conferred upon you by the hands of my servant Joseph Smith, Jr. Amen.
DC 68:1h and unto you it shall be given to know the signs of the times, and the signs of the coming of the Son of man; and of as many as the Father shall bear record, to you shall be given power to seal them up unto eternal life. Amen.
DC 68:3a And again, no bishop, or high priest, who shall be set apart for this ministry, shall be tried or condemned for any crime, save it be before the First Presidency of the church;
DC 68:4i These sayings are true and faithful; wherefore transgress them not, neither take therefrom. Behold, I am Alpha and Omega, and I come quickly. Amen.
DC 69:Intro SECTION 69
Revelation given through rough Joseph Smith, Jr., November 1831, at Hiram, Ohio. The compilation of the revelations to comprise the "Book of Commandments" was authorized at one of the four special conferences held in Hiram during the first half of November 1831. It was decided that Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer should carry the revelations to Independence, Missouri, where they would be printed by W. W. Phelps and Company. This instruction was sought and received in connection with the mission of these brethren.
DC 69:2b nevertheless, let my servant John Whitmer travel many times from place to place, and from church to church, that he may the more easily obtain knowledge--preaching and expounding, writing, copying, selecting, and obtaining all things which shall be for the good of the church, and for the rising generations, that shall grow up on the land of Zion, to possess it from generation to generation, for ever and ever. Amen.
DC 70:1a Behold and hearken, O ye inhabitants of Zion, and all ye people of my church, who are far off, and hear the word of the Lord, which I give unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., and also unto my servant Martin Harris, and also unto my servant Oliver Cowdery, and also unto my servant John Whitmer, and also unto my servant Sidney Rigdon, and also unto my servant William W. Phelps, by the way of commandment unto them, for I give unto them a commandment;
DC 71:2b Verily this is a mission for a season which I give unto you; wherefore labor ye in my vineyard.
DC 71:2f Wherefore let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.
DC 72:1e Verily I say unto you, The elders of the church in this part of my vineyard shall render an account of their stewardship unto the bishop which shall be appointed of me, in this part of my vineyard.
DC 75:1a Verily, verily, I say unto you, I who speak even by the voice of my Spirit; even Alpha and Omega, your Lord and your God; hearken, O ye who have given your names to go forth to proclaim my gospel, and to prune my vineyard.
DC 76:5a And again, we bear record for we saw and heard, and this is the testimony of the gospel of Christ, concerning them who come forth in the resurrection of the just:
DC 77:3a And he who breaketh it shall lose his office and standing in the church, and shall be delivered over to the buffetings of Satan until the day of redemption.
DC 83:2e Esaias also lived in the days of Abraham and was blessed of him, which Abraham received the priesthood from Melchisedec; who received it through the lineage of his fathers, even till Noah;
DC 83:4b but they hardened their hearts, and could not endure his presence, therefore, the Lord, in his wrath (for his anger was kindled against them), swore that they should not enter into his rest, while in the wilderness, which rest is the fullness of his glory.
DC 83:8a And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received, which vanity and unbelief hath brought the whole church under condemnation.
DC 85:40 Let him offer himself in prayer upon his knees before God, in token or remembrance of the everlasting covenant; and when any shall come in after him, let the teacher arise, and, with uplifted hands to heaven, yea, even directly, salute his brother or brethren with these words:
DC 86:3b Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls, and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals and for mild drinks and also other grain.
DC 89:1 Verily, thus saith the Lord, I give unto the united order, organized agreeable to the commandment previously given, a revelation and commandment concerning my servant Shederlaomach, that ye shall receive him into the order. What I say unto one I say unto all.
DC 90:Intro SECTION 90
A conference of high priests met in Kirtland, Ohio, May 4, 1833, to consider the building of a schoolhouse for the instruction of the elders in the work of their ministry. This was in harmony with the revelation of December 27, 1832 (D. and C. 85:36). This revelation was received through Joseph Smith two days later, May 6, 1833, at Kirtland, Ohio.
DC 90:3b I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fullness,
DC 90:4c The Spirit of truth is of God. I am the Spirit of truth.
DC 90:4d And John bore record of me, saying, He received a fullness of truth; yea, even of all truth, and no man receiveth a fullness unless he keepeth his commandments.
DC 90:6d But I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth,
DC 90:6f And now a commandment I give unto you, if you will be delivered: you shall set in order your own house, for there are many things that are not right in your house.
DC 90:8a Verily I say unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., or, in other words, I will call you friends, for you are my friends, and you shall have an inheritance with me.
DC 91:4a And on the third lot shall my servant Hyrum Smith receive his inheritance.
DC 92:2b therefore, I commanded you to tarry, even as mine apostles at Jerusalem; nevertheless my servants sinned a very grievous sin; and contentions arose in the school of the prophets, which was very grievous unto me, saith your Lord; therefore I sent them forth to be chastened.
DC 93:1d for, behold, verily I say unto you, This is the most expedient in me, that my word should go forth unto the children of men, for the purpose of subduing the hearts of the children of men, for your good. Even so. Amen.
DC 94:2a Behold, I say unto you, concerning the school in Zion, I, the Lord, am well pleased that there should be a school in Zion;
DC 97:4a And now I give unto you a word concerning Zion: Zion shall be redeemed, although she is chastened for a little season.
DC 97:4c Therefore, let your hearts be comforted, for all things shall work together for good to them that walk uprightly, and to the sanctification of the church;
DC 98:6f Might not this money be given to the exchangers? for there is no need of these things!
DC 98:9e nevertheless, as I have said unto you in a former commandment, let not your gathering be in haste, nor by flight; but let all things be prepared before you;
DC 100:1a Verily I say unto you, my friends, Behold, I will give unto you a revelation and commandment, that you may know how to act in the discharge of your duties concerning the salvation and redemption of your brethren, who have been scattered on the land of Zion, being driven and smitten by the hands of mine enemies; on whom I will pour out my wrath without measure in mine own time;
DC 100:2b Behold, they shall, for I have decreed it, begin to prevail against mine enemies from this very hour, and by hearkening to observe all the words which I, the Lord their God, shall speak unto them, they shall never cease to prevail until the kingdoms of the world are subdued under my feet; and the earth is given unto the saints, to possess it for ever and ever.
DC 100:6a Let no man be afraid to lay down his life for my sake; for whoso layeth down his life for my sake, shall find it again. And whoso is not willing to lay down his life for my sake, is not my disciple.
DC 100:6f But verily I say unto you, A commandment I give unto you, that ye shall not go up unto the land of Zion, until you have obtained one hundred of the strength of my house, to go up with you unto the land of Zion.
DC 100:7b Let my servant Parley P. Pratt, journey with my servant Joseph Smith, Jr. Let my servant Lyman Wight, journey with my servant Sidney Rigdon. Let my servant Hyrum Smith, journey with my servant Frederick G. Williams.
DC 101:7c yea, verily this is the stewardship which I have appointed unto my servant Ahashdah; even this whole Ozondah establishment, him and his agent, and his seed after him;
DC 101:13f I give unto you a promise, that you shall be delivered this once, out of your bondage; inasmuch as you obtain a chance to loan (borrow) money by hundreds, or thousands, even until you shall loan (borrow) enough to deliver yourselves from bondage, it is your privilege, and pledge the properties which I have put into your hands, this once, by giving your names, by common consent, or otherwise, as it shall seem good unto you.
DC 102:10a Verily I say unto you, It is expedient in me that the first elders of my church should receive their endowment from on high, in my house, which I have commanded to be built unto my name in the land of Kirtland;
DC 104:6 An elder has a right to officiate in his stead when the high priest is not present.
DC 104:9b to commune with the general assembly and church of the Firstborn; and to enjoy the communion and presence of God the Father, and Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant.
DC 104:31c and also teachers to preside over those who are of the office of a teacher, in like manner; and also the deacons:
DC 106:2c behold, verily I say unto you, It shall not be a land of Zion unto you; and this shall be an ensample unto all the stakes of Zion. Even so. Amen.
DC 107:15a Verily, verily I say unto you, that when I give a commandment to any of the sons of men, to do a work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might, and with all they have, to perform that work, and cease not their diligence, and their enemies come upon them, and hinder them performing that work;
DC 107:27c And with my servant Almon Babbitt there are many things with which I am not well pleased; behold, he aspireth to establish his council instead of the council which I have ordained, even the presidency of my church, and he setteth up a golden calf for the worship of my people.
DC 107:27f Therefore let my servant William put his trust in me, and cease to fear concerning his family, because of the sickness of the land.
DC 107:46c and a commandment I give unto you that you should fill all these offices and approve of those names which I have mentioned, or else disapprove of them, at my General Conference, and that ye should prepare rooms for all these offices in my house when you build it unto my name, saith the Lord your God. Even so. Amen.
DC 108:11b and for the Lord's errand in the day when the weak shall confound the wise, and the little one become a strong nation, and two should put their tens of thousands to flight; and by the weak things of the earth, the Lord should thresh the nations by the power of his Spirit.
