1 Nephi 1:1 I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days -- nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days; yea, I make a record in the language of my father, which
consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians.
DC 110:8a Now the nature of this ordinance
consists in the power of the priesthood, by the revelation of Jesus Christ, wherein it is granted that whatsoever you bind on earth should be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven;
DC 110:11a Now the great and grand secret of the whole matter, and the summum bonum of the whole subject that is lying before us,
consists in obtaining the powers of the holy priesthood.
DC 110:14b And as are the records on the earth in relation to your dead, which are truly made out, so also are the records in heaven. This, therefore, is the sealing and binding power, and in one sense of the word, the keys of the kingdom, which
consists in the key of knowledge.
