1 Nephi 1:Intro An account of Lehi and his wife Sariah, and his four sons, being called (beginning at the eldest), Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi. The Lord warns Lehi to depart out of the land of Jerusalem, because he prophesieth unto the people concerning their iniquity; and they seek to destroy his life. He taketh three day's journey into the wilderness with his family. Nephi taketh his brethren and returns to the land of Jerusalem after the record of the Jews. The account of their sufferings. They take the daughters of Ishmael to wife. They take their families and depart into the wilderness. Their sufferings and afflictions in the wilderness. The course of their travels. They come to the large waters. Nephi's brethren rebelleth against him. He confoundeth them, and buildeth a ship. They call the place Bountiful. They cross the large waters into the promised land, &c. This is according to the account of Nephi; or in other words, I, Nephi wrote this record.

1 Nephi 1:1 I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days -- nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days; yea, I make a record in the language of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians.

1 Nephi 1:14 And after this manner was the language of my father in the praising of his God; for his soul did rejoice, and his whole heart was filled, because of the things which he had seen; yea, which the Lord had shewn unto him.

1 Nephi 1:15 And now I, Nephi, do not make a full account of the things which my father hath written, for he hath written many things which he saw in visions and in dreams;

1 Nephi 1:16 And he also hath written many things which he prophesied and spake unto his children, of which I shall not make a full account; but I shall make an account of my proceedings in my days.

1 Nephi 1:22 And they also sought his life, that they might take it away.

1 Nephi 2:48 And it came to pass after I had prayed unto the Lord, I beheld a large and spacious field.

1 Nephi 2:92 And all these things did my father see, and hear, and speak, as he dwelt in a tent, in the valley of Lemuel; and also a great many more things, which can not be written upon these plates.

1 Nephi 2:93 And now, as I have spoken concerning these plates, behold, they are not the plates upon which I make a full account of the history of my people;

1 Nephi 2:95 Wherefore, they are called the plates of Nephi, after mine own name; and these plates also are called the plates of Nephi.

1 Nephi 2:98 Wherefore, these plates are for the more part of the ministry; and the other plates are for the more part of the reign of the kings, and the wars and contentions of my people.

1 Nephi 3:7 And he spake also concerning a prophet, who should come before the Messiah, to prepare the way of the Lord;

1 Nephi 3:14 And also concerning the dwindling of the Jews in unbelief.

1 Nephi 3:36 And the Holy Ghost giveth authority that I should speak these things and deny them not.

1 Nephi 3:191 And after it had come forth unto them, I beheld other books which came forth by the power of the Lamb, from the Gentiles unto them, unto the convincing of the Gentiles, and the remnant of the seed of my brethren, and also the Jews, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth, that the records of the prophets and of the twelve apostles of the Lamb are true.

1 Nephi 3:192 And the angel spake unto me, saying, These last records which thou hast seen among the Gentiles shall establish the truth of the first, which are of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, and shall make known the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them;

1 Nephi 3:253 And I have not written but a small part of the things which I saw.

1 Nephi 3:254 And I bear record, that I saw the things which my father saw, and the angel of the Lord did make them known unto me.

1 Nephi 5:27 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did speak much unto my brethren, because they had hardened their hearts again, even unto complaining against the Lord their God.

1 Nephi 5:50 But behold, we know that he lies unto us; and he tells us these things, and he worketh many things by his cunning arts, that he may deceive our eyes, thinking, perhaps, that he may lead us away into some strange wilderness;

1 Nephi 5:70 And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto me, saying, Thou shalt construct a ship, after the manner which I shall shew thee, that I may carry thy people across these waters.

1 Nephi 5:71 And I said, Lord, whither shall I go, that I may find ore to molten, that I may make tools to construct the ship, after the manner which thou has shewn unto me?

1 Nephi 5:72 And it came to pass that the Lord told me whither I should go to find ore, that I might make tools.

1 Nephi 5:73 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did make bellows wherewith to blow the fire, of the skins of beasts;

1 Nephi 5:74 And after I had made bellows, that I might have wherewith to blow the fire, I did smite two stones together, that I might make fire.

1 Nephi 5:75 For the Lord had not hitherto suffered that we should make much fire, as we journeyed in the wilderness;

1 Nephi 5:83 Wherefore, I, Nephi, did strive to keep the commandments of the Lord, and I did exhort my brethren to faithfulness and diligence.

1 Nephi 5:116 And there was not anything done, save it were by his word.

1 Nephi 5:181 We did put forth into the sea, and were driven forth before the wind, towards the promised land;

1 Nephi 5:217 And we did find all manner of ore, both of gold, and of silver, and of copper.

1 Nephi 5:219 And upon the plates which I made, I did engrave the record of my father, and also our journeyings in the wilderness, and the prophecies of my father; and also many of mine own prophecies have I engraven upon them.

1 Nephi 5:224 And that the things which were written, should be kept for the instruction of my people, who should possess the land, and also for other wise purposes, which purposes are known unto the Lord;

1 Nephi 6:7 For after this manner has the prophet written:

1 Nephi 6:21 All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; who among them hath declared these things unto them? The Lord hath loved him; yea, and he will fulfill his word which he hath declared by them; and he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall come upon the Chaldeans.

1 Nephi 6:40 They shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor the sun smite them; for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

1 Nephi 6:46 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

1 Nephi 7:20 And not only unto the Gentiles, but unto all the house of Israel, unto the making known of the covenants of the Father of heaven unto Abraham, saying, In thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

1 Nephi 7:21 And I would, my brethren, that ye should know that all the kindreds of the earth can not be blessed unless he shall make bare his arm in the eyes of the nations.

1 Nephi 7:64 But, behold, all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, shall dwell safely in the Holy One of Israel, if it so be that they will repent.

2 Nephi 1:72 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.

2 Nephi 1:75 That he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.

2 Nephi 2:13 And I will give unto him a commandment, that he shall do none other work save the work which I shall command him.

2 Nephi 2:33 And I will give judgment unto him in writing.

2 Nephi 2:34 Yet I will not loose his tongue, that he shall speak much: for I will not make him mighty in speaking.

2 Nephi 2:35 But I will write unto him my law, by the finger of mine own hand; and I will make a spokesman for him.

2 Nephi 2:42 Because of their faith, their words shall proceed forth out of my mouth unto their brethren, who are the fruit of thy loins;

2 Nephi 3:52 Wilt thou deliver me out of the hands of mine enemies?

2 Nephi 3:56 O Lord, wilt thou encircle me around in the robe of thy righteousness?

2 Nephi 3:57 O Lord, wilt thou make a way for mine escape before mine enemies?

2 Nephi 4:18 And it came to pass that we began to prosper exceedingly, and to multiply in the land.

2 Nephi 4:45 And I, Nephi, had kept the records upon my plates, which I had made of my people, thus far.

2 Nephi 5:52 O, House of Israel, is my hand shortened at all that it can not redeem, or have I no power to deliver?

2 Nephi 5:53 Behold, at my rebuke, I dry up the sea, I make their rivers a wilderness and their fish to stink, because the waters are dried up; and they die because of thirst.

2 Nephi 5:72 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places;

2 Nephi 5:75 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation:

2 Nephi 8:44 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, and shall say, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let not this ruin come under thy hand;

2 Nephi 8:88 Wo unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart-rope;

2 Nephi 9:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, hear ye indeed, but they understood not; and see ye indeed, but they perceived not.

2 Nephi 9:18 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

2 Nephi 9:103 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return; the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

2 Nephi 9:117 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, and spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

2 Nephi 9:129 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together; they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

2 Nephi 9:134 Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

2 Nephi 10:11 And I will punish the world for evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay down the haughtiness of the terrible;

2 Nephi 10:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldee's excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

2 Nephi 10:44 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.

2 Nephi 11:156 And the meek also shall increase, and their joy shall be in the Lord; and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

2 Nephi 12:99 And Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more, for a long time.

2 Nephi 12:100 And now my beloved brethren, I must make an end of my sayings.

2 Nephi 15:4 For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry; and I know that the Lord God will consecrate my prayers, for the gain of my people.

Jacob 2:28 And all flesh is of the dust; and for the self-same end hath he created them, that they should keep his commandments, and glorify him for ever.

Jacob 2:69 These plates are called the plates of Jacob; and they were made by the hand of Nephi.

Jacob 4:12 Behold, will ye reject these words?

Jacob 5:46 And I told him the things which my brother Nephi had commanded me; and he promised obedience unto the commands.

Omni 1:4 And it came to pass that two hundred and seventy and six years had passed away, and we had many seasons of peace; and we had many seasons of serious war and bloodshed.

Omni 1:11 Now I, Chemish, write what few things I write, in the same book with my brother: for behold, I saw the last which he wrote, that he wrote it with his own hand; and he wrote it in the day that he delivered them unto me.

Omni 1:16 And behold, the record of this people is engraven upon plates which is had by the kings, according to the generations;

Omni 1:18 Behold, I am Amaleki, the son of Abinadom.

Omni 1:53 And I am about to lie down in my grave; and these plates are full.

Words of Mormon 1:12 And my prayer to God, is concerning my brethren, that they may once again come to the knowledge of God; yea, the redemption of Christ; that they may once again be a delightsome people.

Mosiah 1:14 And it came to pass that after King Benjamin had made an end of teaching his sons that he waxed old; and he saw that he must very soon go the way of all the earth; therefore, he thought it expedient that he should confer the kingdom upon one of his sons.

Mosiah 1:43 I say unto you, that as I have been suffered to spend my days in your service, even up to this time, and have not sought gold nor silver, nor any manner of riches of you;

Mosiah 6:1 I, Zeniff, having been taught in all the language of the Nephites, and having had a knowledge of the land of Nephi, or of the land of our fathers' first inheritance, and having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites, that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them;

Mosiah 7:96 Thou shalt have no other God before me.

Mosiah 7:112 I perceive that ye have studied and taught iniquity the most part of your lives.

Mosiah 8:4 I say unto you that it is expedient that ye should keep the Law of Moses as yet; but I say unto you, that the time shall come when it shall no more be expedient to keep the Law of Moses.

Mosiah 8:24 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no evil, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Mosiah 8:34 Yea, even so he shall be led, crucified and slain, the flesh becoming subject even unto death, the will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father;

Mosiah 9:107 And now King Limhi did have continual peace in his kingdom, for the space of two years, that the Lamanites did not molest them nor seek to destroy them.

Mosiah 11:195 But now that they may foresee that he will come, and that he remembereth every creature of his creating;

Mosiah 13:12 And if my son should turn again to his pride and vain things, he would recall the things which he had said, and claim his right to the kingdom, which would cause him and also this people to commit much sin.

Mosiah 13:35 Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right;

Alma 1:69 And it came to pass that Amlici did arm his men with all manner of weapons of war, of every kind; and he also appointed rulers and leaders over his people, to lead them to war against their brethren.

Alma 1:81 And behold, the Amlicites have joined them, and they are upon our brethren in that land; and they are fleeing before them with their flocks, and their wives, and their children, towards our city.

Alma 3:44 Behold, my brethren, do ye suppose that such an one can have a place to sit down in the kingdom of God, with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob, and also all the holy prophets, whose garments are cleansed, and are spotless, pure, and white?

Alma 3:53 I say unto you, that such an one is not prepared, and I would that he should prepare quickly, for the hour is close at hand, and he knoweth not when the time shall come; for such an one is not found guiltless.

Alma 8:14 And the angel said unto me, He is a holy man; wherefore I know he is a holy man, because it was said by an angel of God.

Alma 8:19 Nevertheless, there were some among them who thought to question them, that by their cunning devices they might catch them in their words, that they might find witness against them, that they might deliver them to the Judges,

Alma 8:22 Now these lawyers were learned in all the arts and cunning of the people; and this was to enable them that they might be skillful in their profession.

Alma 12:18 And the Lord said unto them also, Go forth among the Lamanites, thy brethren, and establish my word;

Alma 12:119 But this is not all; for he expounded unto them the plan of redemption, which was prepared from the foundation of the world;

Alma 12:187 And Ammon said unto him, No one hath told me, save it be God; and he said unto me, Go and deliver thy brethren, for they are in prison in the land of Middoni.

Alma 13:52 And it came to pass that when Aaron had said these words, the king did bow down before the Lord, upon his knees; yea, even he did prostrate himself upon the earth, and cried mightily, saying, O God, Aaron hath told me that there is a God;

Alma 14:23 Now the king conferred the kingdom upon his son and he called his name Anti-Nephi-Lehi.

Alma 14:27 Now there was not one soul among all the people who had been converted unto the Lord, that would take up arms against their brethren;

Alma 16:34 And ye keep them down, even as it were, in bondage, that ye may glut yourselves with the labors of their hands, that they durst not look up with boldness, and that they durst not enjoy their rights and privileges;

Alma 16:35 Yea, they durst not make use of that which is their own, lest they should offend their priests, who do yoke them according to their desires, and have brought them to believe by their traditions, and their dreams, and their whims, and their visions, and their pretended mysteries, that they should, if they did not do according to their words, offend some unknown being, who they say is God; a being who never has been seen nor known, who never was nor ever will be.

Alma 16:201 And now it came to pass that after Alma had spoken these words unto them, he sat down upon the ground, and Amulek arose and began to teach them, saying, My brethren, I think that it is impossible that ye should be ignorant of the things which have been spoken concerning the coming of Christ, who is taught by us to be the Son of God;

Alma 16:251 Now this did stir up the Zoramites to anger against the people of Ammon, and they began to mix with the Lamanites, and to stir them up also to anger against them;

Alma 17:47 But if ye keep the commandments of God, and do with these things which are sacred, according to that which the Lord doth command you (for you must appeal unto the Lord for all things whatsoever ye must do with them), behold no power of earth or hell can take them from you, for God is powerful to the fulfilling of all his words:

Alma 17:60 For behold, there is a curse upon all this land, that destruction shall come upon all those workers of darkness, according to the power of God, when they are fully ripe; therefore I desire that this people might not be destroyed.

Alma 21:7 Then Alma said unto him, Blessed art thou: and the Lord shall prosper thee in this land.

Alma 21:32 And Amalickiah was desirous to be a king; and those people who were wroth, were also desirous that he should be their king; and they were the greater part of them the lower judges of the land; and they were seeking for power.

Alma 21:92 And it came to pass that when Amalickiah found that he could not get Lehonti to come down off from the mount, he went up into the mount, nearly to Lehonti's camp; and he sent again the fourth time, his message unto Lehonti, desiring that he would come down, and that he would bring his guards with him.

Alma 21:137 And this was their faith, that by so doing, God would prosper them in the land; or in other words, if they were faithful in keeping the commandments of God, that he would prosper them in the land; yea, warn them to flee, or to prepare for war, according to their danger;

Alma 24:17 But behold, it came to pass in the twenty and seventh year of the reign of the Judges, that Teancum, by the command of Moroni, who had established armies to protect the south and west borders of the land, had begun his march towards the land Bountiful, that he might assist Teancum with his men, in retaking the cities which they had lost.

Alma 24:18 And it came to pass that Teancum had received orders to make an attack upon the city of Mulek, and retake it if it were possible.

Alma 24:57 And this city became an exceeding stronghold ever after; and in this city they did guard the prisoners of the Lamanites; yea, even within a wall, which they had caused them to build with their own hands.

Alma 25:60 And they were thus cautious, that no poison should be administered among them; for if their wine would poison a Lamanite, it would also poison a Nephite; and thus they did try all their liquors.

Alma 26:22 And in the commencement of the twenty and seventh year, we had prepared our city and ourselves for defense.

Alma 26:23 Now we were desirous that the Lamanites should come upon us; for we were not desirous to make an attack upon them in their strongholds.

Alma 26:48 Now we were not sufficiently strong to contend with them; yea, I would not suffer that my little sons should fall into their hands; therefore we did continue our march; and we took our march into the wilderness.

Alma 26:71 But I sent an epistle unto the king, that we were sure our forces were sufficient to take the city of Antiparah by our force; and by delivering up the prisoners for that city, we should suppose ourselves unwise, and that we would only deliver up our prisoners on exchange.

Alma 26:136 And it came to pass that when they saw that we were not strong, according to our numbers, and fearing that we should cut them off from their support, except they should come out to battle against us, and kill us,

Alma 27:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, after Moroni had received and had read Helaman's epistle, he was exceedingly rejoiced because of the welfare, yea, the exceeding success which Helaman had had, in obtaining those lands which were lost;

Alma 27:39 Have ye forgot the many times we have been delivered out of the hands of our enemies?

Helaman 2:132 And they did multiply and wax exceeding strong in the land. And they did raise many flocks and herds, yea, many fatlings.

Helaman 3:85 And now it came to pass, that the judges did expound the matter unto the people, and did cry out against Nephi, saying, Behold we know that this Nephi must have agreed with some one to slay the judge, and then he might declare it unto us, that he might convert us unto his faith, that he might raise himself to be a great man, chosen of God, and a prophet;

Helaman 3:98 And ye shall say unto him, Have ye murdered your brother? And he shall stand with fear, and wist not what to say.

Helaman 3:116 And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but have sought my will, and to keep my commandments.

Helaman 4:33 And thus in time, yea, even in the space of not many years, they became an exceeding great band of robbers; and they did search out all the secret plans of Gadianton; and thus they became robbers of Gadianton.

3 Nephi 1:6 And they began to rejoice over their brethren, saying, Behold, the time is past, and the words of Samuel are not fulfilled; therefore, your joy and your faith concerning this thing hath been vain.

3 Nephi 2:37 And they were exceeding sorrowful because of their enemy.

3 Nephi 2:94 Therefore I have made my record of these things according to the record of Nephi, which was engraven on the plates which were called the plates of Nephi.

3 Nephi 2:97 Behold I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.

3 Nephi 2:99 Yea, a small record of that which hath taken place from the time that Lehi left Jerusalem, even down until the present time;

3 Nephi 2:100 Therefore I do make my record from the accounts which have been given by those who were before me, until the commencement of my day; and then do I make a record of the things which I have seen with mine own eyes.

3 Nephi 2:101 And I know the record which I make to be a just and a true record; nevertheless there are many things which, according to our language, we are not able to write.

3 Nephi 3:22 And there began to be men inspired from heaven, and sent forth, standing among the people in all the land, preaching and testifying boldly of the sins and iniquities of the people,

3 Nephi 4:74 And it came to pass that in the ending of the thirty and fourth year, behold I will shew unto you that the people of Nephi who were spared, and also those who had been called Lamanites, who had been spared, did have great favors shewn unto them, and great blessings poured out upon their heads, insomuch that soon after the ascension of Christ into heaven, he did truly manifest himself unto them, shewing his body unto them, and ministering unto them;

3 Nephi 5:81 And again it is written. Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths.

3 Nephi 9:53 Thy hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

3 Nephi 9:64 The Father having raised me up unto you first, and sent me to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities; and this because ye are the children of the covenant.

3 Nephi 10:10 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3 Nephi 10:19 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted; behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

3 Nephi 11:19 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened, and heard; and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

3 Nephi 12:5 Behold I was about to write them all which were engraven upon the plates of Nephi, but the Lord forbid it, saying, I will try the faith of my people; therefore I, Mormon, do write the things which have been commanded me of the Lord.

3 Nephi 13:36 And they were converted unto the Lord, and were united unto the church of Christ, and thus the people of that generation were blessed, according to the word of Jesus.

3 Nephi 13:60 Yea, and wo unto him that shall say at that day, that there can be no miracle wrought by Jesus Christ, to get gain; for he that doeth this, shall become like unto the son of perdition, for whom there was no mercy, according to the word of Christ.

4 Nephi 1:59 And he did hide them up unto the Lord, that they might come again unto the remnant of the house of Jacob, according to the prophecies and the promises of the Lord. And thus is the end of the record of Ammoron.

Mormon 1:24 And it came to pass that in the three hundred and twenty and seventh year, the Lamanites did come upon us with exceeding great power, insomuch that they did frighten my armies; therefore they would not fight, and they began to retreat towards the north countries.

Mormon 1:43 And now the city of Jashon was near the land where Ammoron had deposited the records unto the Lord, that they might not be destroyed.

Mormon 1:44 And behold, I had gone according to the word of Ammoron, and taken the plates of Nephi, and did make a record according to the words of Ammoron.

Mormon 2:6 But behold, the judgments of God will overtake the wicked; and it is by the wicked, that the wicked are punished; for it is the wicked that stir up the hearts of the children of men unto bloodshed.

Mormon 4:14 And whoso receiveth this record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it, the same shall know of greater things than these.

Mormon 4:15 Behold, I am Moroni; and were it possible, I would make all things known unto you.

Ether 1:49 And also we shall perish, for in them we can not breathe, save it is the air which is in them; therefore we shall perish.

Ether 1:81 Behold this body, which ye now behold, is the body of my spirit; and man have I created after the body of my spirit; and even as I appear unto thee to be in the spirit, will I appear unto my people in the flesh.

Ether 3:70 And it came to pass that he did flatter many people, because of his cunning words, until he had gained the half of the kingdom.

Ether 4:60 And it came to pass that Levi did serve in captivity after the death of his father, for the space of forty and two years.

Ether 4:70 And the whole face of the land northward was covered with inhabitants; and they were exceeding industrious, and they did buy and sell, and traffic one with another, that they might get gain.

Ether 4:73 And they did have silks, and fine twined linen; and they did work all manner of cloth, that they might clothe themselves from their nakedness.

Ether 4:74 And they did make all manner of tools to till the earth, both to plow and to sow, to reap and to hoe, and also to thrash.

Ether 4:75 And they did make all manner of tools with which they did work their beasts.

Ether 5:3 For he did cry from the morning, even until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe in God unto repentance, lest they should be destroyed, saying unto them, that by faith all things are fulfilled;

Ether 5:27 And when I had said this, the Lord spake unto me, saying, Fools mock, but they shall mourn; and my grace is sufficient for the meek, that they shall take no advantage of your weakness; and if men come unto me, I will shew unto them their weakness.

Ether 6:109 Now the last words which are written by Ether, are these: Whether the Lord will that I be translated, or that I suffer the will of the Lord in the flesh, it mattereth not, if it so be that I am saved in the kingdom of God. Amen.

Moroni 7:20 And now I come to that faith, of which I said I would speak; and I will tell you the way whereby ye may lay hold on every good thing.

DC 1:5g and he that repents not, from him shall be taken even the light which he has received, for my Spirit shall not always strive with man, saith the Lord of Hosts.

DC 3:7b Behold, I do not say that you shall not show it unto the righteous; but as you can not always judge the righteous, or as you can not always tell the wicked from the righteous;

DC 6:5c therefore, thou shalt exercise thy gift, that thou mayest find out mysteries, that thou mayest bring many to the knowledge of the truth; yea, convince them of the error of their ways.

DC 7:2b I say unto thee, Peter, this was a good desire, but my beloved has desired that he might do more, or a greater work yet among men, than what he has before done; yea, he has undertaken a greater work;

DC 7:2c therefore, I will make him as flaming fire, and a ministering angel; he shall minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation who dwell on the earth;

DC 21:1a Behold, I speak unto you, Oliver, a few words. Behold, thou art blessed, and art under no condemnation. But beware of pride, lest thou shouldst enter into temptation.

DC 23:7d Yea, and also, all those whom thou hast ordained. And they shall do even according to this pattern. Amen.

DC 24:3a And verily I say unto thee, that thou shalt lay aside the things of this world, and seek for the things of a better.

DC 32:2e yea, open your mouths and spare not, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your backs, for lo, I am with you;

DC 43:5e Prepare yourselves for the great day of the Lord: for if I, who am a man, do lift up my voice and call upon you to repent, and ye hate me, what will ye say when the day cometh when the thunders shall utter their voices from the ends of the earth, speaking to the ears of all that live, saying:

DC 48:2b The place is not yet to be revealed, but after your brethren come from the east, there are to be certain men appointed, and to them it shall be given to know the place, or to them it shall be revealed;

DC 52:1a Behold, thus saith the Lord unto the elders whom he hath called and chosen, in these last days, by the voice of his Spirit, saying,

DC 56:6b for, behold, the Lord shall come, and his recompense shall be with him, and he shall reward every man, and the poor shall rejoice; and their generations shall inherit the earth from generation to generation, for ever and ever.

DC 57:5c And thus let those of whom I have spoken, be planted in the land of Zion, as speedily as can be, with their families, to do those things even as I have spoken.

DC 60:2a And it shall come to pass, if they are not more faithful unto me, it shall be taken away, even that which they have, for I, the Lord, ruleth in the heavens above, and among the armies of the earth;

DC 60:2e And from thence let my servants Sidney Rigdon, and Joseph Smith, Jr., and Oliver Cowdery, take their journey for Cincinnati: and in this place let them lift up their voice, and declare my word with loud voices, without wrath or doubting, lifting up holy hands upon them.

DC 63:6b nevertheless he that endureth in faith and doeth my will, the same shall overcome, and shall receive an inheritance upon the earth, when the day of transfiguration shall come; when the earth shall be transfigured, even according to the pattern which was shown unto mine apostles upon the mount; of which account the fullness ye have not yet received.

DC 63:13h and in that day will I send mine angels, to pluck out the wicked, and cast them into unquenchable fire.

DC 65:Intro SECTION 65 Joseph Smith, Jr., and Sidney Rigdon lived in the home of John Johnson at Hiram, Ohio, during September and October 1831 while they continued work on the Holy Scriptures. Here Joseph received the following revelation on prayer.

DC 65:1b The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth;

DC 65:1c yea, a voice crying, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, prepare ye the supper of the Lamb, make ready for the Bridegroom;

DC 67:2b this you also know: now seek ye out of the Book of Commandments, even the least that is among them, and appoint him that is the most wise among you;

DC 72:4d that they also may obtain funds which shall benefit the church in all things, that they also may render themselves approved in all things, and be accounted as wise stewards.

DC 76:2a For thus saith the Lord, I, the Lord, am merciful and gracious unto those who fear me, and delight to honor those who serve me in righteousness and in truth unto the end;

DC 76:2c yea, even the wonders of eternity shall they know, and things to come will I show them, even the things of many generations; their wisdom shall be great, and their understanding reach to heaven; and before them the wisdom of the wise shall perish, and the understanding of the prudent shall come to naught;

DC 76:8a But great and marvelous are the works of the Lord and the mysteries of his kingdom which he showed unto us, which surpasses all understanding in glory, and in might, and in dominion, which he commanded us we should not write, while we were yet in the Spirit, and are not lawful for man to utter,

DC 81:5b and the soul that sins against this covenant, and hardeneth his heart against it, shall be dealt with according to the laws of my church, and shall be delivered over to the buffetings of Satan until the day of redemption.

DC 83:4e for he was baptized while he was yet in his childhood, and was ordained by the angel of God at the time he was eight days old unto this power:

DC 83:17c Glory, and honor, and power, and might, Be ascribed to our God, for he is full of mercy, Justice, grace and truth, and peace, For ever and ever, Amen.

DC 83:19b And if any man among you be strong in the Spirit, let him take with him he that is weak, that he may be edified in all meekness, that he may become strong also.

DC 85:20a Behold, I will hasten my work in its time; and I give unto you who are the first laborers in this last kingdom, a commandment, that you assemble yourselves together, and organize yourselves, and prepare yourselves; and sanctify yourselves;

DC 86:1b that inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold, it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together, to offer up your sacraments before him.

DC 90:9 My servant Newel K. Whitney, also a bishop of my church, hath need to be chastened, and set in order his family, and see that they are more diligent and concerned at home, and pray always, or they shall be removed out of their place.

DC 90:10 Now I say unto you, my friends, Let my servant Sidney Rigdon go his journey, and make haste, and also proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the gospel of salvation, as I shall give him utterance, and by your prayer of faith with one consent, I will uphold him.

DC 95:2b therefore, I, the Lord, justify you and your brethren of my church in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land; and as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than these, cometh of evil.

DC 98:1a Verily, I say unto you, concerning your brethren who have been afflicted, and persecuted, and cast out from the land of their inheritance, I, the Lord, have suffered the affliction to come upon them, wherewith they have been afflicted in consequence of their transgressions;

DC 99:9d and if, after a careful rehearing, any additional light is shown upon the case, the decision shall be altered accordingly; but in case no additional light is given, the first decision shall stand, the majority of the council having power to determine the same.

DC 101:2b It is wisdom in me; therefore, a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall organize yourselves, and appoint every man his stewardship, that every man may give an account unto me of the stewardship which is appointed unto him;

DC 101:11b and there shall be a seal upon the treasury, and all the sacred things shall be delivered into the treasury, and no man among you shall call it his own, or any part of it, for it shall belong to you all with one accord; and I give it unto you from this very hour;

DC 102:11a And again, I say unto you, Sue for peace, not only the people that have smitten you, but also to all people;

DC 102:11b and lift up an ensign of peace, and make a proclamation for peace unto the ends of the earth;

DC 104:11e The seventy are also called to preach the gospel, and to be especial witnesses unto the Gentiles and in all the world--thus differing from other officers in the church in the duties of their calling; and they form a quorum equal in authority to that of the twelve especial witnesses, or apostles, just named.

DC 107:1a Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your offering and acknowledgments, which you have made, for unto this end have I raised you up, that I might show forth my wisdom through the weak things of the earth.

DC 107:13f But if they will not hearken to my voice, nor unto the voice of these men whom I have appointed, they shall not be blessed, because they pollute mine holy grounds, and mine holy ordinances and charters, and my holy words, which I give unto them.

DC 107:15d and I will answer judgment, wrath and indignation, wailing and anguish, and gnashing of teeth, upon their heads, unto the third and fourth generation, so long as they repent not, and hate me, saith the Lord your God.

DC 108:1a Hearken, O ye people of my church, saith the Lord your God, and hear the word of the Lord concerning you; the Lord who shall suddenly come to his temple; the Lord who shall come down upon the world with a curse to judgment; yea, upon all the nations that forget God, and upon all the ungodly among you.

DC 108:5b Listen, ye elders of my church together, and hear the voice of the Lord, for he calleth upon all men and he commandeth all men everywhere to repent; for, behold, the Lord God hath sent forth the angel, crying through the midst of heaven, saying:

DC 108:7d And it shall be answered upon their heads, for the presence of the Lord shall be as the melting fire that burneth, and as the fire which causeth the waters to boil.

DC 108:12e When I called again, there was none of you to answer, yet my arm was not shortened at all, that I could not redeem, neither my power to deliver.

DC 110:2a I wrote a few words of revelation to you concerning a recorder. I have had a few additional views in relation to this matter, which I now certify.

DC 119:7c And on this day they should refrain from unnecessary work; nevertheless, nothing should be permitted to go to waste on that day, nor should necessary work be neglected.

DC 120:9c a sufficient number to fill the vacancies now existing in the high council, that the high council may be properly organized and prepared to hear matters of grave importance when presented to them.

DC 122:5f Whatever burden the quorum may have felt rested upon them in this regard, they are now absolved from, the end designed by it having been reached;

DC 122:10c The Scriptures and the church articles and covenants, with the rules adopted by the church, shall govern in procedure.

DC 125:4c He is not to meddle with branch affairs or district affairs.

DC 125:15c Pray over the sick, anoint them with oil, as commanded in the law, and leave them in my hands, that the Spirit may deal with them according to my wisdom.

DC 127:5b They should be visited and comforted and encouraged.

DC 130:6a The Spirit saith further: That the Bishopric may be still further put in condition to perform the duties of the office of caring for the temporalities of the church, the imminent necessity of which appears clear to all,

DC 131:2a Thus saith the Spirit unto the church: The time has now come when the necessities of the work require that the servants of the church, Bishops Edwin A. Blakeslee and Edmund L.
