Alma 1:57 Therefore, if it were possible that Amlici should gain the voice of the people, he being a wicked man, would deprive them of their rights and privileges of the church, etc.; for it was his intent to destroy the church of God.

Alma 1:60 And it came to pass that the voice of the people came against Amlici, that he was not made king over the people.

Alma 1:73 Nevertheless the Lord did strengthen the hand of the Nephites, that they slew the Amlicites with a great slaughter, that they began to flee before them.

Alma 1:78 Now those whom he had sent out to watch the camp of the Amlicites, were called Zeram, and Amnor, and Manti, and Limher; these were they who went out with their men to watch the camp of the Amlicites.

Alma 1:87 And it came to pass that Alma fought with Amlici with the sword, face to face; and they did contend mightily, one with another.

Alma 2:10 And in all these things were they lifted up in the pride of their eyes, for they began to wear very costly apparel.

Alma 5:1 Behold my beloved brethren, seeing that I have been permitted to come unto you, therefore I attempt to address you in my language;

Alma 5:2 Yea, by my own mouth, seeing that it is the first time that I have spoken unto you by the words of my mouth, I having been wholly confined to the judgment seat, having had much business that I could not come unto you;

Alma 5:3 And even I could not have come now at this time, were it not that the judgment seat hath been given to another to reign in my stead; and the Lord in much mercy hath granted that I should come unto you.

Alma 5:7 And I trust, according to the Spirit of God which is in me, that I shall also have joy over you;

Alma 5:8 Nevertheless I do not desire that my joy over you should come by the cause of so much afflictions and sorrow which I have had for the brethren at Zarahemla;

Alma 5:9 For behold, my joy cometh over them after wading through much afflictions and sorrow.

Alma 5:15 Behold, I do not say that he will come among us at the time of his dwelling in his mortal tabernacle; for behold, the Spirit hath not said unto me that this should be the case.

Alma 5:16 Now as to this thing I do not know; but this much I do know, that the Lord God hath power to do all things which are according to his word.

Alma 5:31 And now because your faith is strong concerning that, yea, concerning the things which I have spoken, great is my joy.

Alma 6:10 Now Satan had gotten great hold upon the hearts of the people of the city of Ammonihah; therefore they would not hearken unto the words of Alma.

Alma 6:16 Now when the people had said this, and had withstood all his words, and reviled him, and spit upon him, and caused that he should be cast out of their city, he departed thence and took his journey towards the city which was called Aaron.

Alma 7:26 And it shall be according to the fierce anger of the Lord; for he will not suffer you that ye shall live in your iniquities to destroy his people.

Alma 8:4 And behold, I am also a man of no small reputation among all those who know me;

Alma 8:5 Yea, and behold, I have many kindred and friends, and I have also acquired much riches, by the hand of my industry;

Alma 8:6 Nevertheless, after all this, I never have known much of the ways of the Lord, and his mysteries and marvelous power.

Alma 8:45 And there was one among them whose name was Zeezrom.

Alma 8:102 Now this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous;

Alma 10:111 And thus ended the tenth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi.

Alma 12:4 For they were men of a sound understanding, and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God.

Alma 12:5 But this is not all: they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting, therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with power and authority, even as with the power and authority of God.

Alma 12:8 Now these are the circumstances which attended them in their journeyings, for they had many afflictions;

Alma 12:13 And thus they departed into the wilderness, with their numbers which they had selected, to go up to the land of Nephi, to preach the word of God unto the Lamanites.

Alma 12:34 And Ammon said unto him, Yea, I desire to dwell among this people for a time; yea, and perhaps until the day I die.

Alma 12:46 And thus we will reserve the flocks unto the king, and he will not slay us.

Alma 12:64 Behold, is not this the Great Spirit who doth send such great punishments upon this people, because of their murders?

Alma 12:144 Now when he had said these words, his heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy: and the queen also sank down, being overpowered by the Spirit.

Alma 14:38 Yea, and he has made these things known unto us beforehand, because he loveth our souls as well as he loveth our children; therefore in his mercy he doth visit us by his angels, that the plan of salvation might be made known unto us as well as unto future generations. O how merciful is our God!

Alma 14:63 And the remainder having fled into the east wilderness, and having usurped the power and authority over the Lamanites, caused that many of the Lamanites should perish by fire, because of their belief:

Alma 14:96 Yea, and we have been instruments in his hands, of doing this great and marvelous work; therefore let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God for ever.

Alma 15:41 And thus the cry of mourning was heard among every one of them: mourning for their kindred who had been slain.

Alma 15:64 Yea, I have always remembered the captivity of my fathers; and that same God who delivered them out of the hands of the Egyptians, did deliver them out of bondage; yea, and that same God did establish his church among them;

Alma 15:65 Yea, and that same God hath called me by a holy calling, to preach the word unto this people, and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full; but I do not joy in my own success alone, but my joy is more full because of the success of my brethren, who have been up to the land of Nephi.

Alma 16:22 And it came to pass that he caused that he should be carried out of the land.

Alma 16:40 Now Alma said unto him, Thou knowest that we do not glut ourselves upon the labors of this people; for behold, I have labored even from the commencement of the reign of the Judges, until now, with mine own hands, for my support, notwithstanding my many travels round about the land, to declare the word of God unto my people.

Alma 16:68 And he said unto me, There is no God; yea, and he taught me that which I should say. And I have taught his words; and I taught them, because they were pleasing unto the carnal mind;

Alma 16:121 And it came to pass that they did go forth, and began to preach the word of God unto the people, entering into their synagogues, and into their houses; yea, and even they did preach the word in their streets.

Alma 16:136 And now as I said unto you, that because ye were compelled to be humble, ye were blessed, do ye not suppose that they are more blessed who truly humble themselves because of the word?

Alma 16:140 Now I ask, Is this faith? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for if a man knoweth a thing, he hath no cause to believe, for he knoweth it.

Alma 16:164 And behold, as the tree beginneth to grow, ye will say, let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up and bring forth fruit unto us.

Alma 16:202 Yea, I know that these things were taught unto you, bountifully, before your dissension from among us, and as ye have desired of my beloved brother, that he should make known unto you what ye should do, because of your afflictions; and he hath spoken somewhat unto you to prepare your minds; yea, and he hath exhorted you unto faith, and to patience;

Alma 18:4 For I knew that thou wast in bonds; yea, and I also knew that thou wast stoned for the word's sake; and thou didst bear all these things with patience, because the Lord was with thee; and now thou knowest that the Lord did deliver thee.

Alma 18:13 And now, as ye have begun to teach the word, even so I would that ye should continue to teach; and I would that ye would be diligent and temperate in all things.

Alma 19:2 Behold, has he not set a good example for thee?

Alma 19:55 Now my son, I do not say that their resurrection cometh at the resurrection of Christ; but behold, I give it as my opinion, that the souls and the bodies are reunited, of the righteous at the resurrection of Christ, and his ascension into heaven.

Alma 20:23 They had only their swords, and their cimeters, their bows and their arrows, their stones and their slings; but they were naked, save it were a skin which was girded about their loins; yea, all were naked, save it were the Zoramites and the Amalekites.

Alma 21:1 Behold, now it came to pass that the people of Nephi were exceedingly rejoiced, because the Lord had again delivered them out of the hands of their enemies;

Alma 21:72 And they began to have peace again in the land; and thus they did maintain peace in the land, until nearly the end of the nineteenth year of the reign of the Judges.

Alma 21:75 And there were some who died with fevers, which at some seasons of the year was very frequent in the land;

Alma 21:144 But as I have said in the latter end of the nineteenth; yea, notwithstanding their peace amongst themselves, they were compelled reluctantly to contend with their brethren, the Lamanites;

Alma 22:30 Therefore, Morianton put it into their hearts that they should flee to the land which was northward, which was covered with large bodies of water, and take possession of the land which was northward.

Alma 23:7 And it came to pass that this matter of their contention was settled, by the voice of the people.

Alma 23:16 And it came to pass that when the men who were called king-men, had heard that the Lamanites were coming down to battle against them, they were glad in their hearts, and they refused to take up arms; for they were so wroth with the chief judge, and also with the people of liberty, that they would not take up arms to defend their country.

Alma 23:39 And it came to pass that Teancum and his men did pitch their tents in the borders of the land Bountiful; and Amalickiah did pitch his tents in the borders on the beach by the sea-shore, and after this manner were they driven.

Alma 24:3 And it came to pass that the brother of Amalickiah was appointed king over the people; and his name was Ammoron; thus King Ammoron, the brother of King Amalickiah, was appointed to reign in his stead.

Alma 24:10 And he also sent orders unto him, that he should fortify the land Bountiful, and secure the narrow pass which led into the land northward, lest the Lamanites should obtain that point, and should have power to harass them on every side.

Alma 24:14 Now the king (Ammoron) had departed out of the land of Zarahemla, and had made known unto the queen concerning the death of his brother, and had gathered together a large number of men, and had marched forth against the Nephites, on the borders by the west sea;

Alma 24:35 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did pursue Teancum until they came near the city Bountiful, and then they were met by Lehi, and a small army, which had been left to protect the city Bountiful.

Alma 24:44 And it came to pass that they fought on both hands with exceeding fury; and there were many slain on both sides; yea, and Moroni was wounded, and Jacob was killed.

Alma 26:17 Yea, and they were depressed in body as well as in spirit; for they had fought valiantly by day, and toiled by night, to maintain their cities; and thus they had suffered great afflictions of every kind.

Alma 26:119 For behold they remembered that which we had hitherto done; therefore we could not decoy them away from their strongholds;

Alma 26:147 And it came to pass that Gid and Teomner, by this means, had obtained possession of their strongholds.

Alma 27:31 For were it not for the wickedness which first commenced at our head, we could have withstood our enemies, that they could have gained no power over us; yea, had it not been for the war which broke out among ourselves;

Alma 27:32 Yea, were it not for those king-men, who caused so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, at the time we were contending among ourselves, if we had united our strength as we hitherto have done;

Alma 27:35 But behold, now the Lamanites are coming upon us, and they are murdering our people with the sword; yea, our women and our children; taking possession of our lands, and also carrying them away captive; causing them that they should suffer all manner of afflictions; and this because of the great wickedness of those who are seeking for power and authority; yea, even those king-men.

Alma 27:46 And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority, shall become extinct;

Alma 29:40 For behold, the Nephites and the Lamanites also, were weary because of the greatness of the march; therefore they did not resolve upon any stratagem in the night time, save it were Teancum:

Alma 29:54 And Pahoran did return to his judgment seat; and Helaman did take upon him again to preach unto the people the word of God: for because of so many wars and contentions, it had become expedient that a regulation should be made again in the church;

Alma 30:6 And it came to pass that Hagoth, he being an exceeding curious man, therefore he went forth, and built him an exceeding large ship, on the borders of the land Bountiful, by the land Desolation, and launched it forth into the west sea, by the narrow neck which led into the land northward.

Alma 30:9 And in the thirty and eighth year, this man built other ships.

Helaman 1:18 Therefore he did stir them up to anger, and he did gather together his armies, and he did appoint Coriantumr to be their leader, and did cause that they should march down to the land of Zarahemla, to battle against the Nephites.

Helaman 2:1 And now it came to pass in the forty and third year of the reign of the Judges, there was no contention among the people of Nephi, save it were a little pride which was in the church, which did cause some little dissensions among the people, which affairs were settled in the ending of the forty and third year.

Helaman 2:2 And there was no contention among the people in the forty and fourth year; neither was there much contention in the forty and fifth year.

Helaman 2:9 And the people who were in the land northward, did dwell in tents, and in houses of cement, and they did suffer whatsoever tree should spring up upon the face of the land, that it should grow up, that in time they might have timber to build their houses, yea, their cities and their temples, and their synagogues, and their sanctuaries, and all manner of their buildings.

Helaman 2:29 And in the fifty and first year of the reign of the Judges, there was peace also, save it were the pride which began to enter into the church; not into the church of God, but into the hearts of the people who professed to belong to the church of God; and they were lifted up in pride, even to the persecution of many of their brethren.

Helaman 2:34 And it came to pass that he did fill the judgment seat with justice and equity; yea, he did keep the commandments of God, and did walk in the ways of his father.

Helaman 2:134 And thus the sixty and fourth year did pass away in peace.

Helaman 3:83 And behold the judges inquired of them to know concerning the matter, and they told them all that they had done, saying, We ran and came to the place of the judgment seat, and when we saw all things, even as Nephi had testified, we were astonished, insomuch that we fell to the earth; and when we were recovered from our astonishment, behold they cast us into prison.

Helaman 3:96 And now behold, I will shew unto you another sign, and see if ye will in this thing seek to destroy me.

Helaman 3:113 And it came to pass that Nephi went his way towards his own house, pondering upon the things which the Lord had shewn unto him.

Helaman 4:27 And also they had peace in the seventy and eighth year, save it were a few contentions concerning the points of doctrine which had been laid down by the prophets.

Helaman 4:38 And it came to pass in the commencement of the eighty and first year, they did go forth again against this band of robbers, and did destroy many;

Helaman 5:136 And many more things did the people imagine up in their hearts, which were foolish and vain;

3 Nephi 1:33 And it came to pass that the ninety and third year did also pass away in peace, save it were for the Gadianton robbers, who dwelt upon the mountains, who did infest the land;

3 Nephi 1:34 For so strong were their holds and their secret places that the people could not overpower them; therefore they did commit many murders, and did do much slaughter among the people.

3 Nephi 1:35 And it came to pass that in the ninety and fourth year, they began to increase in a great degree, because there were many dissenters of the Nephites who did flee unto them, which did cause much sorrow unto those Nephites who did remain in the land;

3 Nephi 1:46 Therefore, nine years had passed away, and Nephi, who was the father of Nephi, who had the charge of the records, did not return to the land of Zarahemla, and could nowhere be found in all the land.

3 Nephi 1:47 And it came to pass that the people did still remain in wickedness, notwithstanding the much preaching and prophesying which was sent among them; and thus passed away the tenth year also; and the eleventh year also passed away in iniquity.

3 Nephi 2:59 And thus they did pursue them, and did slay them, to the borders of the wilderness, even until they had fulfilled the commandment of Gidgiddoni.

3 Nephi 2:65 Now they had appointed unto themselves another leader, whose name was Zemnarihah; therefore it was Zemnarihah that did cause that this siege should take place.

3 Nephi 2:88 But as many as there were who did not enter into a covenant, and who did still continue to have those secret murders in their hearts; yea; as many as were found breathing out threatenings against their brethren, were condemned and punished according to the law.

3 Nephi 2:102 And now I make an end of my saying which is of myself, and proceed to give my account of the things which have been before me. I am Mormon, and a pure descendant of Lehi.

3 Nephi 3:38 And every tribe did appoint a chief, or a leader over them; and thus they became tribes, and leaders of tribes.

3 Nephi 6:22 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

3 Nephi 7:15 And not at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell it unto your brethren at Jerusalem; neither at any time hath the Father given me commandment, that I should tell unto them concerning the other tribes of the house of Israel, whom the Father hath led away out of the land.

3 Nephi 13:28 But it came to pass that they did again minister upon the face of the earth; nevertheless they did not minister of the things which they had heard and seen, because of the commandment which was given them in heaven.

Moroni 9:11 For behold, many of the daughters of the Lamanites have they taken prisoners: and after depriving them of that which was most dear and precious above all things, which is chastity and virtue; and after they had done this thing, they did murder them in a most cruel manner, torturing their bodies even unto death; and after they have done this, they devour their flesh like unto wild beasts, because of the hardness of their hearts; and they do it for a token of bravery.
