Jacob 1:Intro The words of his preaching unto his brethren. He confoundeth a man who seeketh to overthrow the doctrine of Christ. A few words concerning the history of the people of Nephi.
Jacob 2:52 And the Lamanites which are not filthy like unto you, (nevertheless, they are cursed with a sore cursing,) shall scourge you even unto destruction.
Jacob 3:48 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard went his way, and hid the natural branches of the tame olive tree in the nethermost parts of the vineyard; some in one, and some in another, according to his will and pleasure.
Jacob 3:61 And he said unto the servant, Take of the fruit thereof, and lay it up, against the season, that I may preserve it unto mine own self;
Jacob 3:63 And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master, How comest thou hither to plant this tree, or this branch of the tree? for behold, it was the poorest spot in all the land of thy vineyard.
Jacob 3:65 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said unto his servant, Look hither: behold, I have planted another branch of the tree also; and thou knowest that this spot of ground was poorer than the first.
Jacob 3:67 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said again unto his servant, Look hither, and behold another branch also, which I have planted; behold that I have nourished it also, and it hath brought forth fruit.
Jacob 3:71 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard, and the servant of the Lord of the vineyard, did nourish all the fruit of the vineyard.
Jacob 3:72 And it came to pass that a long time had passed away, and the Lord of the vineyard said unto his servant, Come, let us go down into the vineyard, that we may labor again in the vineyard.
Jacob 3:75 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard did taste of the fruit, every sort according to its number.
Jacob 3:76 And the Lord of the vineyard said, Behold, this long time have we nourished this tree, and I have laid up unto myself against the season, much fruit.
Jacob 3:125 Wherefore, go to, and call servants, that we may labor diligently with our mights in the vineyard, that we may prepare the way, that I may bring forth again the natural fruit, which natural fruit is good, and the most precious above all other fruit.
Jacob 3:126 Wherefore, let us go to, and labor with our mights, for this last time; for behold the end draweth nigh: and this is for the last time that I shall prune my vineyard.
Jacob 3:127 Graft in the branches; begin at the last, that they may be first, and that the first may be last, and dig about the trees, both old and young, the first and the last, and the last and the first, that all may be nourished once again for the last time.
Jacob 3:137 And the Lord of the vineyard said unto them, Go to and labor in the vineyard, with your mights.
Jacob 3:138 For behold, this is the last time that I shall nourish my vineyard: for the end is nigh at hand, and the season speedily cometh;
Jacob 3:144 And they became like unto one body; and the fruit were equal; and the Lord of the vineyard had preserved unto himself the natural fruit, which was most precious unto him from the beginning.
Jacob 3:147 For because ye have been diligent in laboring with me in my vineyard, and have kept my commandments, and have brought unto me again the natural fruit, that my vineyard is no more corrupted, and the bad is cast away, behold, ye shall have joy with me, because of the fruit of my vineyard.
Jacob 3:148 For behold, for a long time will I lay up of the fruit of my vineyard unto mine own self, against the season, which speedily cometh;
Jacob 3:149 And for the last time have I nourished my vineyard, and pruned it, and dug about it, and dunged it;
Jacob 3:150 Wherefore I will lay up unto mine own self of the fruit for a long time, according to that which I have spoken.
Jacob 4:2 That the things which this prophet Zenos spake, concerning the house of Israel, in the which he likened them unto a tame olive tree, must surely come to pass.
Jacob 5:7 And he had hope to shake me from the faith, notwithstanding the many revelations, and the many things which I had seen concerning these things; for I truly had seen angels, and they had ministered unto me.
Jacob 5:42 And it came to pass that I, Jacob, began to be old; and the record of this people being kept on the other plates of Nephi, wherefore, I conclude this record, declaring that I have written according to the best of my knowledge, by saying,
Enos 1:25 And I had faith, and I did cry unto God, that he would preserve the records;
Enos 1:41 And I saw wars between the Nephites and the Lamanites, in the course of my days.
Omni 1:25 Now, there was great rejoicing among the people of Zarahemla; and also, Zarahemla did rejoice exceedingly, because the Lord had sent the people of Mosiah with the plates of brass which contained the record of the Jews.
Omni 1:26 Behold, it came to pass that Mosiah discovered that the people of Zarahemla, came out from Jerusalem, at the time that Zedekiah, king of Judah, was carried away captive into Babylon.
Omni 1:27 And they journeyed in the wilderness, and were brought by the hand of the Lord, across the great waters, into the land where Mosiah discovered them; and they had dwelt there from that time forth.
Omni 1:28 And at the time that Mosiah discovered them, they had become exceeding numerous.
Omni 1:38 It also spake a few words concerning his fathers.
Jarom 1:28 For they did prick their hearts with the word, continually stirring them up unto repentance.
Words of Mormon 1:15 And they were handed down from King Benjamin, from generation to generation, until they have fallen into my hands.
Mosiah 1:3 And he caused that they should be taught in all the language of his fathers, that thereby they might become men of understanding; and that they might know concerning the prophecies which had been spoken by the mouths of their fathers, which were delivered them by the hand of the Lord.
Mosiah 1:5 For it were not possible that our father Lehi could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates:
Mosiah 1:9 O my sons, I would that ye should remember that these sayings are true; and also, that these records are true.
Mosiah 1:42 Yet, as I have been chosen by this people, and was consecrated by my father, and was suffered by the hand of the Lord that I should be a ruler, and a king over this people; and have been kept and preserved by his matchless power, to serve thee with all the might, mind, and strength which the Lord hath granted unto me;
Mosiah 1:63 And ye behold that I am old, and am about to yield up this mortal frame to its mother earth;
Mosiah 1:64 Therefore, as I said unto you that I had served you, walking with a clear conscience before God, even so I at this time have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together, that I might be found blameless, and that your blood should not come upon me, when I shall stand to be judged of God of the things whereof he hath commanded me concerning you.
Mosiah 1:67 And moreover, I say unto you, that I have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together, that I might declare unto you that I can no longer be your teacher, nor your king;
Mosiah 1:76 I say unto you, that there are not any among you, except it be your little children, that have not been taught concerning these things, but what knoweth that ye are eternally indebted to your heavenly Father,
Mosiah 1:96 For the Lord hath heard thy prayers, and hath judged of thy righteousness, and hath sent me to declare unto thee that thou mayest rejoice; and that thou mayest declare unto thy people, that they may also be filled with joy.
Mosiah 1:120 But if he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man, and becometh a saint, through the atonement of Christ, the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.
Mosiah 1:121 And moreover, I say unto you, that the time shall come, when the knowledge of a Savior shall spread throughout every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
Mosiah 1:122 And behold, when that time cometh, none shall be found blameless before God, except it be little children, only through repentance and faith on the name of the Lord God Omnipotent;
Mosiah 2:7 And King Benjamin again opened his mouth, and began to speak unto them, saying, My friends and my brethren, my kindred and my people, I would again call your attention, that ye may hear and understand the remainder of my words which I shall speak unto you;
Mosiah 2:32 For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same being, even God, for all the substance which we have; for both food, and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind?
Mosiah 4:5 And Mosiah began to reign in his father's stead.
Mosiah 5:1 And now, it came to pass that after King Mosiah had had continual peace, for the space of three years, he was desirous to know concerning the people who went up to dwell in the land of Lehi-Nephi, or in the city of Lehi-Nephi:
Mosiah 5:26 And it came to pass that when they had gathered themselves together, that he spake unto them in this wise, saying,
Mosiah 5:34 And all this he did, for the sole purpose of bringing this people into subjection, or into bondage.
Mosiah 5:53 And it came to pass that after king Limhi had made an end of speaking to his people, for he spake many things unto them, and only a few of them have I written in this book, he told his people all the things concerning their brethren who were in the land of Zarahemla;
Mosiah 5:56 And it came to pass that after he had done all this, that King Limhi dismissed the multitude, and caused that they should return, every one unto his own house.
Mosiah 5:86 Yea, they are as a wild flock, which fleeth from the shepherd, and scattereth, and are driven, and are devoured by the beasts of the forest.
Mosiah 6:26 And it came to pass that we again began to establish the kingdom; and we again began to possess the land in peace.
Mosiah 7:17 And it came to pass that he caused many buildings to be built in the land of Shilom:
Mosiah 7:19 And thus he did do with the riches which he obtained by the taxation of his people.
Mosiah 7:24 Thus the Lamanites began to destroy them, and to exercise their hatred upon them.
Mosiah 7:42 I command you to bring Abinadi hither, that I may slay him; for he has said these things, that he might stir up my people to anger, one with another, and to raise contentions among my people; therefore I will slay him.
Mosiah 7:101 And they stood forth and attempted to lay their hands on him: but he withstood them, and said unto them, Touch me not, for God shall smite you if ye lay your hands upon me, for I have not delivered the message which the Lord sent me to deliver;
Mosiah 8:3 And now ye have said that salvation cometh by the Law of Moses.
Mosiah 8:49 And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that are still publishing peace!
Mosiah 8:65 Yea, neither can the Lord redeem such: for he can not deny himself; for he can not deny justice when it has its claim.
Mosiah 8:69 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations: and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Mosiah 9:32 And it came to pass that as many as did believe him, did go forth to a place which was called Mormon, having received its name from the king, being in the borders of the land having been infested, by times, or at seasons, by wild beasts.
Mosiah 9:45 And after Alma had said these words, both Alma and Helam were buried in the water; and they arose and came forth out of the water rejoicing, being filled with the Spirit.
Mosiah 9:48 Yea, and they were baptized in the waters of Mormon, and were filled with the grace of God:
Mosiah 9:151 And they went again to battle; but they were driven back again, suffering much loss.
Mosiah 9:162 For they were desirous to take them, that they might punish them: for they had come into the land of Nephi by night, and carried off their grain, and many of their precious things; therefore they laid wait for them.
Mosiah 9:176 And it came to pass that King Limhi and many of his people were desirous to be baptized; but there was none in the land that had authority from God.
Mosiah 9:179 They were desirous to be baptized, as a witness and a testimony that they were willing to serve God with all their hearts;
Mosiah 10:5 Now it came to pass that Gideon went forth and stood before the king, and said unto him, Now O king, thou hast hitherto hearkened unto my words many times when we have been contending with our brethren, the Lamanites.
Mosiah 11:66 And he said unto Alma, Thou shalt go before this people, and I will go with thee, and deliver this people out of bondage.
Mosiah 11:80 And now all the people of Nephi were assembled together, and also all the people of Zarahemla, and they were gathered together in two bodies.
Mosiah 11:81 And it came to pass that Mosiah did read, and caused to be read, the records of Zeniff to his people; yea, he read the records of the people of Zeniff, from the time they left the land of Zarahemla until they returned again.
Mosiah 11:104 And the Lord did pour out his Spirit upon them, and they were blessed, and prospered in the land.
Mosiah 11:140 And ye shall also forgive one another your trespasses: for verily I say unto you, He that forgiveth not his neighbor's trespasses, when he says that he repents, the same hath brought himself under condemnation.
Mosiah 11:199 And they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink beneath the glance of his all-searching eye.
Mosiah 12:21 And whosoever has these things, is called seer, after the manner of old times.
Mosiah 12:22 Now after Mosiah had finished translating these records, behold, it gave an account of the people, who were destroyed, from the time that they were destroyed, back to the building of the great tower, at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people;
Mosiah 13:1 And now, as I said unto you, that after King Mosiah had done these things, he took the plates of brass, and all the things which he had kept, and conferred them upon Alma, who was the son of Alma;
Mosiah 13:36 Therefore this shall ye observe, and make it your law to do your business by the voice of the people.
Mosiah 13:37 And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you;
Mosiah 13:66 And now it came to pass that his father died, being eighty and two years old, having lived to fulfill the commandments of God.
Alma 1:Intro The account of Alma, who was the son of Alma, the first and chief judge over the people of Nephi, and also the high priest over the church. An account of the reign of the judges and the wars and contentions among the people. And also an account of a war between the Nephites and the Lamanites, according to the record of Alma, the first and chief judge.
Alma 1:16 And it came to pass that he stood before Alma, and plead for himself with much boldness.
Alma 1:66 Yea, they did arm themselves with swords, and with cimeters, and with bows, and with arrows, and with stones, and with slings, and with all manner of weapons of war, of every kind;
Alma 1:108 Therefore whosoever suffered himself to be led away by the Lamanites, was called under that head, and there was a mark set upon him.
Alma 1:112 Thus the word of God is fulfilled, for these are the words which he said to Nephi:
Alma 1:122 And it came to pass that there was an army sent to drive them out of their land.
Alma 1:124 And they went up and slew many of the Lamanites, and drove the remainder of them out of the borders of their land;

Alma 5:13 For behold, I say unto you, There be many things to come; and behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all:
Alma 5:14 For behold, the time is not far distant, that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people.
Alma 5:36 And he doth not dwell in unholy temples; neither can filthiness, nor anything which is unclean be received into the kingdom of God;
Alma 5:43 And now my beloved brethren, I have spoken these words unto you, according to the Spirit which testifieth in me; and my soul doth exceedingly rejoice, because of the exceeding diligence and heed which ye have given unto my word.
Alma 6:18 It came to pass that while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying, Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice:
Alma 6:21 Yea, say unto them, except they repent, the Lord God will destroy them.
Alma 7:11 And have ye forgotten so soon how many times he delivered our fathers out of the hands of their enemies, and preserved them from being destroyed, even by the hands of their own brethren?
Alma 7:21 For it is because of the traditions of their fathers that cause them to remain in their state of ignorance; therefore the Lord will be merciful unto them, and prolong their existence in the land.
Alma 7:24 But behold, I say unto you, that if ye persist in your wickedness, that your days shall not be prolonged in the land, for the Lamanites shall be sent upon you;
Alma 7:33 Having been saved from famine, and from sickness, and all manner of diseases of every kind;
Alma 7:41 And behold, he cometh to redeem those who will be baptized unto repentance, through faith on his name;
Alma 7:48 And also because I said unto them that they were a lost and a fallen people, they were angry with me, and sought to lay their hands upon me, that they might cast me into prison;
Alma 8:27 Yea, well did Mosiah say, who was our last king, when he was about to deliver up the kingdom, having no one to confer it upon, causing that this people should be governed by their own voices;
Alma 8:33 But it is by the prayers of the righteous that ye are spared; now therefore if ye will cast out the righteous from among you, then will not the Lord stay his hand, but in his fierce anger he will come out against you;
Alma 8:47 Now the object of these lawyers was to get gain; and they got gain according to their employ.
Alma 8:51 And he judged the man according to the law and the evidences which were brought against him, and thus the man was compelled to pay that which he owed, or be striped, or be cast out from among the people, as a thief and a robber.
Alma 8:99 Now there is a death which is called a temporal death; and the death of Christ shall loose the bands of this temporal death, that all shall be raised from this temporal death;
Alma 9:28 And now behold I say unto you, then cometh a death, even a second death, which is a spiritual death;
Alma 9:29 Then is a time that whosoever dieth in his sins, as to a temporal death, shall also die a spiritual death: yea, he shall die as to things pertaining unto righteousness;
Alma 9:30 Then is the time when their torments shall be as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flames ascendeth up for ever and ever;
Alma 9:38 Now we see that Adam did fall by the partaking of the forbidden fruit, according to the word of God; and thus we see, that by his fall, all mankind became a lost and a fallen people.
Alma 9:40 And we see that death comes upon mankind, yea, the death which has been spoken of by Amulek, which is the temporal death; nevertheless there was a space granted unto man, in which he might repent;
Alma 9:48 Therefore he sent angels to converse with them, who caused men to behold of his glory.
Alma 9:61 But let us enter into the rest of God, which is prepared according to his word.
Alma 10:17 Behold, the scriptures are before you; if ye will wrest them it shall be to your own destruction.
Alma 10:22 Therefore we are thus highly favored, for we have these glad tidings declared unto us in all parts of our vineyard.
Alma 10:23 For behold, angels are declaring it unto many at this time in our land; and this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive his word, at the time of his coming in his glory.
Alma 10:25 Would to God that it might be in my day; but let it be sooner or later, in it I will rejoice.
Alma 10:42 And it came to pass that he began to cry unto the people, saying: Behold I am guilty, and these men are spotless before God.
Alma 10:101 And this was done to the great astonishment of all the people; and the knowledge of this went forth throughout all the land of Sidom.
Alma 11:25 And the establishment of the church became general throughout the land, in all the region round about, among all the people of the Nephites.
Alma 12:1 And now it came to pass that as Alma was journeying from the land of Gideon, southward, away to the land of Manti, behold, to his astonishment, he met the sons of Mosiah, journeying towards the land of Zarahemla.
Alma 12:33 And the king inquired of Ammon if it were his desire to dwell in the land among the Lamanites, or among his people?
Alma 12:67 And now, O king, we do not believe that a man has such great power, for we know that he can not be slain.
Alma 12:76 And they said unto him, Behold, he is feeding thy horses.
Alma 12:85 Therefore Ammon turned himself unto the king, and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do for thee, O king!
Alma 12:114 Now when Ammon had said these words, he began at the creation of the world, and also the creation of Adam, and told him all the things concerning the fall of man,
Alma 12:117 And he also rehearsed unto them concerning the rebellions of Laman and Lemuel, and the sons of Ishmael, yea, all their rebellions did he relate unto them;
Alma 12:140 And Ammon said unto her, Blessed art thou, because of thy exceeding faith; I say unto thee, woman, there has not been such great faith among all the people of the Nephites.
Alma 12:201 But Ammon stood forth and said unto him, Behold thou shalt not slay thy son, nevertheless, it were better that he should fall than thee:
Alma 12:211 And when he saw that Ammon had no desire to destroy him, and when he also saw the great love he had for his son, Lamoni, he was astonished exceedingly, and said,
Alma 13:19 And those who were cast into prison suffered many things, and they were delivered by the hand of Lamoni and Ammon; and they were fed and clothed.
Alma 14:8 Establishing churches, and consecrating priests and teachers throughout the land among the Lamanites, to preach and to teach the word of God among them; and thus they began to have great success.
Alma 14:59 And behold, now it came to pass that those Lamanites were more angry, because they had slain their brethren; therefore they swore vengeance upon the Nephites;
Alma 14:74 And they did also bury their weapons of war, according as their brethren had, and they began to be a righteous people; and they did walk in the ways of the Lord, and did observe to keep his commandments, and his statutes, yea, and they did keep the Law of Moses; for it was expedient that they should keep the Law of Moses as yet, for it was not all fulfilled.
Alma 15:36 And now it came to pass that after the people of Ammon were established in the land of Jershon, and a church also established in the land of Jershon; and the armies of the Nephites were set round about the land of Jershon; yea, in all the borders round about the land of Zarahemla; behold the armies of the Lamanites had followed their brethren into the wilderness.
Alma 15:38 Yea, and also there was a tremendous slaughter among the people of Nephi; nevertheless, the Lamanites were driven and scattered, and the people of Nephi returned again to their land.
Alma 15:41 And thus the cry of mourning was heard among every one of them: mourning for their kindred who had been slain.
Alma 16:40 Now Alma said unto him, Thou knowest that we do not glut ourselves upon the labors of this people; for behold, I have labored even from the commencement of the reign of the Judges, until now, with mine own hands, for my support, notwithstanding my many travels round about the land, to declare the word of God unto my people.
Alma 16:226 And now, my brethren, I would that after ye have received so many witnesses, seeing that the holy scriptures testify of these things, come forth and bring fruit unto repentance;
Alma 16:227 Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time, and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.
Alma 16:229 And now as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore I beseech of you, that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end;
Alma 16:231 Ye can not say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God.
Alma 17:21 But behold, my limbs did receive their strength again, and I stood upon my feet, and did manifest unto the people that I had been born of God;
Alma 17:26 And I know that he will raise me up at the last day, to dwell with him in glory; yea, and I will praise him for ever, for he has brought our fathers out of Egypt, and he has swallowed up the Egyptians in the Red Sea; and he led them by his power into the promised land;
Alma 19:22 Behold, I say unto you, that it is he that surely shall come, to take away the sins of the world; yea, he cometh to declare glad tidings of salvation unto his people.
Alma 19:24 And now I will ease your mind somewhat on this subject. Behold, you marvel why these things should be known so long beforehand.
Alma 19:26 Is it not as necessary that the plan of redemption should be made known unto this people, as well as unto their children?
Alma 19:32 But I shew unto you one thing, which I have inquired diligently of God, that I might know; that is, concerning the resurrection.
Alma 19:33 Behold, there is a time appointed that all shall come forth from the dead.
Alma 19:34 Now when this time cometh, no one knows; but God knoweth the time which is appointed.
Alma 19:35 Now whether there shall be one time, or a second time, or a third time, that men shall come forth from the dead, it mattereth not; for God knoweth all these things; and it sufficeth me to know that this is the case; that there is a time appointed that all shall rise from the dead.
Alma 19:36 Now there must needs be a space betwixt the time of death, and the time of the resurrection.
Alma 19:37 And now I would inquire what becometh of the souls of men, from this time of death, to the time appointed for the resurrection?
Alma 19:38 Now whether there is more than one time appointed for men to rise, it mattereth not: for all do not die at once: and this mattereth not; all is as one day, with God; and time only is measured unto men;
Alma 19:39 Therefore there is a time appointed unto men, that they shall rise from the dead; and there is a space between the time of death and the resurrection.
Alma 19:40 And now concerning this space of time. What becometh of the souls of men, is the thing which I have inquired diligently of the Lord to know; and this is the thing of which I do know.
Alma 19:46 And these shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping, and wailing and gnashing of teeth; and this because of their own iniquity; being led captive by the will of the devil.
Alma 19:55 Now my son, I do not say that their resurrection cometh at the resurrection of Christ; but behold, I give it as my opinion, that the souls and the bodies are reunited, of the righteous at the resurrection of Christ, and his ascension into heaven.
Alma 19:83 Now we see that the man had become as God, knowing good and evil; and lest he should put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever, the Lord God placed cherubim and the flaming sword, that he should not partake of the fruit;
Alma 20:29 Now Moroni, leaving a part of his army in the land of Jershon, lest by any means, a part of the Lamanites should come into that land and take possession of the city, took the remainder part of his army and marched over into the land of Manti.
Alma 21:8 But behold, I have somewhat to prophesy unto thee; but what I prophesy unto thee, ye shall not make known; yea, what I prophesy unto thee shall not be made known, even until the prophesy is fulfilled; therefore write the words which I shall say.
Alma 21:12 Yea, I say unto you, that because they shall sin against so great light and knowledge; yea, I say unto you, that from that day, even the fourth generation shall not all pass away, before this great iniquity shall come;

Helaman 5:17 But behold, if it were not for the righteous who are in this great city, behold I would cause that fire should come down out of heaven, and destroy it. But behold, it is for the righteous' sake that it is spared.
Helaman 5:32 For this cause hath the Lord God caused that a curse should come upon the land, and also upon your riches; and this because of your iniquities;

3 Nephi 1:Intro And Helaman was the son of Helaman, who was the son of Alma, who was the son of Alma, being a descendant of Nephi who was the son of Lehi, who came out of Jerusalem in the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah.
3 Nephi 1:4 And it came to pass that in the commencement of the ninety and second year, behold the prophecies of the prophets began to be fulfilled more fully; for there began to be greater signs and greater miracles wrought among the people.
3 Nephi 1:5 But there were some who began to say that the time was past for the words to be fulfilled, which were spoken by Samuel, the Lamanite.

Ether 1:20 And there shall be none greater than the nation which I will raise up unto me of thy seed, upon all the face of the earth.
Ether 1:29 And the Lord would not suffer that they should stop beyond the sea in the wilderness, but he would that they should come forth even unto the land of promise, which was choice above all other lands, which the Lord God had preserved for a righteous people;

DC 5:3f And you must wait yet a little while, for you are not yet ordained; and their testimony shall also go forth unto the condemnation of this generation, if they harden their hearts against them;

It is also printed in the forepart of the Inspired Version (pp. 7-9).
DC 23:6b And in whatsoever place ye shall enter, and they receive you not, in my name, ye shall leave a cursing instead of a blessing, by casting off the dust of your feet against them as a testimony, and cleansing your feet by the wayside.

DC 25:1b And all things shall be done by common consent in the church, by much prayer and faith; for all things you shall receive by faith. Amen.
DC 27:2b and thou shalt be obedient unto the things which I shall give unto him, even as Aaron, to declare faithfully the commandments and revelations, with power and authority unto the church.

Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., March 8, 1831, at Kirtland, Ohio. This is addressed to the Saints in Kirtland who needed guidance concerning the manner of locating members of the church arriving from the East (D. and C. 45:12). They were uncertain about the advisability of purchasing land in view of the projected move farther west, and about the Zionic principles on which lands should be allocated.
DC 48:1b and inasmuch as ye have lands, ye shall impart to the eastern brethren;
DC 48:1c and inasmuch as ye have not lands, let them buy for the present time in those regions round about as seemeth them good, for it must needs be that they have places to live for the present time.
DC 49:1e thus saith the Lord, for I am God and have sent mine only Begotten Son into the world, for the redemption of the world, and have decreed that he that receiveth him shall be saved, and he that receiveth him not shall be damned.
DC 50:8g and I am the good Shepherd (and the stone of Israel: he that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall), and the day cometh that you shall hear my voice and see me, and know that I am. Watch, therefore, that ye may be ready. Even so. Amen.

DC 61:3b wherefore, the days will come that no flesh shall be safe upon the waters, and it shall be said in days to come, that none is able to go up to the land of Zion, upon the waters, but he that is upright in heart.

DC 64:5c And it is not meet that my servants Newel K. Whitney and Sidney Gilbert should sell their store, and their possessions here, for this is not wisdom until the residue of the church, which remaineth in this place, shall go up unto the land of Zion.
DC 64:6b wherefore, as ye are agents, and ye are on the Lord's errand; and whatever ye do according to the will of the Lord, is the Lord's business, and he hath set you to provide for his Saints in these last days, that they may obtain an inheritance in the land of Zion, and, behold, I, the Lord, declare unto you, and my words are sure and shall not fail, that they shall obtain it;
DC 67:3a And again, verily I say unto you, that it is your privilege, and a promise I give unto you that have been ordained unto this ministry, that inasmuch as you strip yourselves from jealousies and fears, and humble yourselves before me, for ye are not sufficiently humble, the veil shall be rent, and you shall see me and know that I am;

DC 69:2b nevertheless, let my servant John Whitmer travel many times from place to place, and from church to church, that he may the more easily obtain knowledge--preaching and expounding, writing, copying, selecting, and obtaining all things which shall be for the good of the church, and for the rising generations, that shall grow up on the land of Zion, to possess it from generation to generation, for ever and ever. DC 71:Intro SECTION 71
Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., at Hiram, Ohio, late in November or on the first of December, 1831. Ezra Booth had apostatized and was attacking the church in print. In harmony with the instructions received, Joseph and Sidney returned to Kirtland and from this base preached in Shalersville, Ravenna, and other places where the people had become disturbed. Joseph later wrote that he and Sidney "did much towards allaying the excited feelings" which had developed.
DC 71:2f Wherefore let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.
DC 72:1b For verily thus saith the Lord, It is expedient in me for a bishop to be appointed unto you, or of you unto the church, in this part of the Lord's vineyard;
DC 72:1c and verily in this thing ye have done wisely, for it is required of the Lord, at the hand of every steward, to render an account of his stewardship, both in time and in eternity.
DC 73:2a Now, verily I say unto you, my servants Joseph Smith, Jr., and Sidney Rigdon, saith the Lord, It is expedient to translate again, and, inasmuch as it is practicable, to preach in the regions round about until Conference, and after that it is expedient to continue the work of translation until it be finished.
DC 76:4d having denied the Holy Spirit, after having received it, and having denied the only begotten Son of the Father; having crucified him unto themselves, and put him to an open shame:

DC 83:17a The Lord hath brought again Zion: The Lord hath redeemed his people, Israel, According to the election of grace, Which was brought to pass by the faith And covenant of their fathers.
DC 85:14b and then he withdrew from the first that he might visit the second also, and the third, and the fourth, and so on unto the twelfth;
DC 85:14d every man in his own order, until his hour was finished, even according as his lord had commanded him, that his lord might be glorified in him, and he in him, that they all might be glorified.
DC 85:18a And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you, and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.
DC 85:19c Behold, and lo, I will take care of your flocks and will raise up elders and send unto them.
DC 85:20c that I may testify unto your Father, and your God, and my God, that you are clean from the blood of this wicked generation, that I may fulfill this promise, this great and last promise which I have made unto you, when I will.
DC 85:22b He that seeketh me early shall find me, and shall not be forsaken.
DC 85:23b that their souls may escape the wrath of God, the desolation of abomination, which await the wicked, both in this world, and in the world to come.
DC 85:35a And then shall the second angel sound his trump, and reveal the secret acts of men, and the thoughts and intents of their hearts, and the mighty works of God in the second thousandth year:
DC 85:37a Therefore cease from all your light speeches, from all laughter, from all your lustful desires, from all your pride and light- mindedness, and from all your wicked doings.
DC 86:3d and shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint; and I, the Lord, give unto them a promise that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.
DC 87:1a Thus saith the Lord, Verily I say unto thee, my son, Thy sins are forgiven thee, according to thy petition, for thy prayers and the prayers of thy brethren have come up into my ears;
DC 87:5a And now, verily I say unto you, I give unto you a commandment, that you continue in the ministry and presidency, and when you have finished the translation of the prophets, you shall from henceforth preside over the affairs of the church and the school;
DC 87:6g that those things that are provided for you, to bring to pass my work, are not taken from you and given to those that are not worthy, and thereby you are hindered in accomplishing those things which I have commanded you.
DC 87:7b Verily I say unto you, that it is meet in mine eyes, that she should go up unto the land of Zion, and receive an inheritance from the hand of the bishop, that she may settle down in peace inasmuch as she is faithful, and not be idle in her days from thenceforth.
DC 90:3a And it shall come to pass, that if you are faithful, you shall receive the fullness of the record of John.
DC 91:4c These two houses are not to be built until I give unto you a commandment concerning them.
DC 92:1b Wherefore, ye must needs be chastened and stand rebuked before my face, for ye have sinned against me a very grievous sin, in that ye have not considered the great commandment in all things, that I have given unto you, concerning the building of mine house,

DC 95:7b and so on unto the second and the third time, and as oft as thine enemy repenteth of the trespass wherewith he has trespassed against thee, thou shalt forgive him, until seventy times seven;

A delegation arrived in Kirtland, February 22, 1834, with information for the First Presidency regarding the condition of the Saints in Missouri. The following revelation was given through Joseph Smith two days later. For "Baurak Ale" read "Joseph Smith". This revelation was first published without conference approval in 1844 and its retention was specifically approved by the 1970 World Conference.
DC 100:3e and ye must needs be led out of bondage by power, and with a stretched out arm; and as your fathers were led at the first, even so shall the redemption of Zion be.
DC 101:10b behold, all these properties are mine, or else your faith is vain, and ye are found hypocrites, and the covenants which ye have made unto me are broken; and if the properties are mine then ye are stewards, otherwise ye are no stewards.
DC 101:10c But verily I say unto you, I have appointed unto you to be stewards over mine house, even stewards indeed; and for this purpose I have commanded you to organize yourselves, even to shinelah my words, the fullness of my Scriptures, the revelations which I have given unto you, and which I shall hereafter, from time to time, give unto you,

Cowdery, should be appointed and ordained a presiding high priest over my church in the land of Freedom, and the regions round about, and should preach my everlasting gospel, and lift up his voice and warn the people, not only in his own place, but in the adjoining countries,
DC 104:29a And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation, and notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost, predicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation.

DC 107:7a And again, I say unto you, that it is my will that my servant Lyman Wight should continue in preaching for Zion, in the spirit of meekness, confessing me before the world,
DC 107:10e for a baptismal font there is not upon the earth; that they, my saints, may be baptized for those who are dead; for this ordinance belongeth to my house, and can not be acceptable to me, only in the days of your poverty, wherein ye are not able to build a house unto me.
DC 107:11a But, behold, at the end of this appointment, your baptisms for your dead shall not be acceptable unto me; and if you do not these things at the end of the appointment, ye shall be rejected as a church with your dead, saith the Lord your God.
DC 107:11b For, verily I say unto you, that after you have had sufficient time to build a house to me, wherein the ordinance of baptizing for the dead belongeth, and for which the same was instituted from before the foundation of the world, your baptisms for your dead can not be acceptable unto me; for therein are the keys of the holy priesthood ordained, that you may receive honor and glory.
DC 107:19c And they shall not receive less than fifty dollars for a share of stock in that house, and they shall be permitted to receive fifteen thousand dollars from any one man for stock in that house; but they shall not be permitted to receive over fifteen thousand dollars stock from any one man;
DC 107:29c that whatsoever he shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever he shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven;
DC 107:33c and when he shall prove himself faithful in all things that shall be intrusted unto his care--yea, even a few things--he shall be made ruler over many; let him, therefore, abase himself that he may be exalted. Even so. Amen.
DC 107:44a And again, I give unto you Joseph Young, Josiah Butterfield, Daniel Miles, Henry Herriman, Zera Pulsipher, Levi Hancock, James Foster, to preside over the quorum of seventies, which quorum is instituted for traveling elders to bear record of my name in all the world, wherever the traveling high council, my apostles, shall send them to prepare a way before my face.
DC 107:44b The difference between this quorum and the quorum of elders is, that one is to travel continually, and the other is to preside over the churches from time to time;

DC 110:Intro SECTION 110
This section is a continuation of the letter of Joseph Smith, Jr., addressed to the Saints of Nauvoo, Illinois (Doctrine and Covenants 109). It was written September 6, 1842, while Joseph was hiding from his persecutors and was first published in the "Times and Seasons" for October 1, 1842 (3:934). It was included in the second (1844) edition of the Doctrine and Covenants and has been retained in all subsequent editions. The Conference of 1970 ordered its removal to the Appendix. Concerning "baptism for the dead" see the Introduction to Section 107 (Appendix A).
NAUVOO, SEPTEMBER 6, 1842
DC 110:3b To obviate this difficulty, there can be a recorder appointed in each ward of the city, who is well qualified for taking accurate minutes; and let him be very particular and precise in taking the whole proceedings, certifying in his record that he saw with his eyes and heard with his ears, giving the date and names, etc., and the history of the whole transaction;
DC 110:18c It is the baptism for the dead. For we without them cannot be made perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect.
DC 110:21a And again, the voice of God in the chamber of old Father Whitmer, in Fayette, Seneca County, and at sundry times, and in divers places, through all the travels and tribulations of this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
DC 110:24c Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter Day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness, and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation.
DC 112:5a We believe that all men are bound to sustain and uphold the respective governments in which they reside, while protected in their inherent and inalienable rights by the laws of such governments, and that sedition and rebellion are unbecoming every citizen thus protected, and should be punished accordingly;

DC 117:9a Until such time as the quorum of the Twelve shall be filled, the decision of that quorum, a unanimous decision, shall be accounted final, as if such quorum were filled, according to my law as given in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants.
DC 117:13 Let contentions and quarrelings among you cease. Sustain each other in peace, and ye shall be blessed with my Spirit, in comforting and strengthening you for my work.
DC 118:Intro SECTION 118
Revelation given through President Joseph Smith III, September 28, 1882, at Lamoni, Iowa, in answer to the prayers of the General Conference.
DC 119:1a It is not yet expedient that the Quorum of the Twelve shall be filled; nevertheless separate my servants, James W. Gillen, Heman C. Smith, Joseph Luff, and Gomer T. Griffiths, unto the office of apostles, that the quorum may be more perfectly prepared to act before me.
DC 119:3d Avoid the use of tobacco and be not addicted to strong drink in any form, that your counsel to be temperate may be made effectual by your example.
DC 119:4a That the work of restoration to which the people of my church are looking forward may be hastened in its time, the elders must cease to be overcareful concerning the return of those who were once of the faith but were overcome in the dark and cloudy day, fearing lest they should bring in hidden heresies to the overthrowing of the work;
DC 119:4c The Spirit says "Come"; let not the ministers for Christ prevent their coming.
DC 119:6e Nevertheless, let the organ and the stringed instrument, and the instrument of brass be silent when the Saints assemble for prayer and testimony, that the feelings of the tender and sad may not be intruded upon.
DC 121:4a "It is my will that my servants shall contend no longer one with another in regard to the Chicago Branch. Let the branch be instructed to report to the conference of my Saints of the district where the branch is located, the Northern Illinois District.
DC 122:2a The burden of the care of the church is laid on him who is called to preside over the high priesthood of the church, and on those who are called to be his counselors;
DC 122:3b They are called and set apart to this duty; and are to travel and preach, under the direction and counsel of the Presidency.
DC 122:4a It is not yet expedient in me that the Quorum of the Presidency, and the Quorum of the Twelve apostles shall be filled, for reasons which will be seen and known unto you in due time.
DC 122:11 The Spirit saith further: That it is wisdom that the Presidency and Twelve in council together make such appointments as may be necessary to provide for the fields not named in the appointments made by the Presidency and recommended to the Twelve, as may be agreed by them.
DC 122:12b In the meantime the district may be left to the care of its districts organization subject to the direction of the Presidency, no one of the missionary force being appointed to the charge thereof for the conference year, or longer if it shall be found advisable.
DC 123:17 Resolved, further, that when a necessity occurs for changing men or placing new men in the field, between conferences, to meet special exigencies, those making the appointment should notify the ministers in charge of the fields affected, if practicable, so as to avoid irregularity or possible conflict.

DC 124:7d and to their sons shall come honor, or shame, as they shall approve, or disapprove themselves to God.
DC 124:8b It has pleased the Father to accept many of the sacrifices of his people; and, notwithstanding some have fallen while engaged in their work; some have been tried, and are still tried; some have been and are afflicted, yet the Lord has seen the affliction and trial and will accept and bless, and no man shall lose his reward.
DC 125:Intro SECTION 125
Revelation given through Joseph Smith III, April 15, 1901, at Independence, Missouri. This revelation was unusual in that --- for the first time --- the inspired message was presented to the General Conference without prior consideration by the quorums. Joseph explained that he was "bidden" to follow this procedure. The Conference referred the document to the quorums. After the quorums had reported favorably, it was approved by the body. At the same time it was ordered to be included in the Doctrine and Covenants.
STATEMENT AND REVELATION
DC 125:4c He is not to meddle with branch affairs or district affairs.
DC 125:7a My servant was directed to present to the church rules of representation, and he so stated to the body at different times that he was so led; but the conferences of my people saw proper to change these articles and rules of representation, and propositions are pending that they be still further changed.
DC 127:2c that he may be an assistant to those who seek the aid of this institution of the church, in his spiritual office and his calling as a physician,
DC 127:5d My servant Joseph F. Burton, though aged, will be an efficient officer and representative of the faith, and, choosing some one to go with him, may be intrusted with this difficult mission.
DC 127:7c The spirit of speculation, the exhibition of greed for gain is unseemly in the Saints and officers of the church, and should be avoided. It has the appearance of evil.
DC 129:8d "I am God; I change not"; has been known to the church and the eldership since the coming of the angel with the message of restoration.
DC 130:6a The Spirit saith further: That the Bishopric may be still further put in condition to perform the duties of the office of caring for the temporalities of the church, the imminent necessity of which appears clear to all,
DC 130:7a The Spirit saith further unto the church assembled and at large:
DC 131:1c In the still small voice which giveth light and understanding to the intelligence of man, exalting the soul and sanctifying the spirit, there came unto me the directing voice of Him whose work we are engaged in.
DC 131:3b and to do this Richard C. Kelley, son of my servant Bishop Edmund L. Kelley, should be called and ordained to the office of an elder, that he may act with the Bishopric in case of necessities and to work in the office of the Bishop in looking after and caring for the affairs appertaining to that office;
DC 132:2 Let Benjamin R. McGuire be set apart and ordained Presiding Bishop of the church, and two of the brethren be set apart as counselors to him, one to be selected by him and supported by the conference, the other to be Bishop James F. Keir.
DC 133:2b Let them not be unduly concerned with the work of the standing ministry, only as they shall be directed by the Presidency therein; and let contention cease concerning the prerogatives of the leading quorums.
DC 134:4 Let James A. Gillen be ordained president of the Quorum of Twelve.
DC 135:Intro SECTION 135
In the years prior to 1925 the Reorganization was passing through a period which brought to the fore problems of administrative prerogatives. These involved the leading quorums of the church. A climax was reached in the General Conference of 1925. A conflict of views between the First Presidency and the Presiding Bishopric occurred. The Order of Bishops presented a motion to the Conference recommending the honorable release from their positions of members of the Presiding Bishopric. The General Conference by motion deferred action and approved an appeal to the Lord through the prophet, in fasting and prayer. In response to the plea of the church the following revelation was received through President Frederick M. Smith, prophet and seer to the church, April 18, 1925.
To the Church: Before and since the decision of the conference to have a season of prayer for divine direction in the matter before the conference I have presented to the Lord the needs of the people; and through the voice of inspiration I am directed to say to the church:
DC 135:2a It is well that the documents from the joint council of April, 1924, have been approved; and the church is admonished once again that the great task laid upon it can not be accomplished if contention continues.
DC 136:1a Under conditions existing it is well that Bishop Albert Carmichael should be released from further responsibility as Presiding Bishop, he being commended for the faithful devotion to the onerous tasks which have been his to perform.
DC 137:4c And let those whose duty it is to select from the members of the priesthood those for setting apart as evangelists be admonished that the work of this class of ministers requires vigor, deep faith, and unreserved consecration, and men should be selected accordingly.
DC 137:6b Remember and keep the commandments, be alert to keep out of the church and from its members those forces which make for disunity, and in harmony and saintly accord be about the task of freeing Zion from her bondage.
DC 138:1e Acting further under the impulsion referred to I now present the names of Israel A. Smith and Lemuel F. P. Curry for ratification as Counselors in the First Presidency, Brother Curry to be released from further responsibility as Presiding Bishop.
DC 139:2c May God bless you in your deliberations; and if the quorums and the body shall have this message confirmed unto them, I shall rejoice, and I have faith that the church thereby will be blessed.
DC 141:3 In order that the Council of Twelve may be filled and the work of that Quorum be carried forward, it is my will that my servants Percy E. Farrow and Reed M. Holmes be ordained and set apart unto the apostolic office and appointed to mission responsibility.
DC 141:4b There are those with the body of my priesthood who are called and who will be chosen to succeed them, if faithful; therefore, all are admonished to qualify themselves in spirit by ministry and by witnessing for Christ.
DC 142:4a The church as a whole is commended for the spiritual growth and the preparation of the priesthood during the conference period, and this necessary work should proceed.
DC 143:1b Now that there is a vacancy in the Council of Twelve, and realizing the great need for apostolic ministry and direction, I have made it a subject of prayer, and I am directed to submit this name to you, the voice of inspiration to me being:

On May 28, 1952, President Israel A. Smith prepared and signed the following statement and placed it in the hands of his counselor, Elder F. Henry Edwards. After the death of President Smith on June 14, 1958, this document was brought to the attention of the Council of Twelve and other general church officers, and at the World Conference of 1958 it was unanimously approved by the quorums and orders of the priesthood and by the Conference assembly. The Conference ordered its insertion in the Doctrine and Covenants.
Elder William Wallace Smith was ordained as President of the High Priesthood and prophet, seer, and revelator to the church at the Auditorium at Independence, Missouri, on October 6, 1958.
To the church and to the Council of Twelve Apostles:
DC 144:1 As I am about to go overseas and realize the usual hazards of travel, and being ever conscious of the uncertainties of life and the certainty of death, and in order that my demise, whether soon or longer postponed, may not cause confusion, I hereby declare that in the event of my death, whenever it shall occur, my brother, William Wallace Smith, should be selected to succeed me as president of the high priesthood of the church, this having been manifested to me by the Lord at the time he was chosen and set apart as an apostle and again when he was called to be a counselor and member of the Quorum of the First Presidency, at the General Conference of 1950.
