Omni 1:19 Behold, I will speak unto you somewhat concerning Mosiah, who was make king over the land of Zarahemla:
Omni 1:21 And it came to pass that he did according as the Lord had commanded him.
Omni 1:22 And they departed out of the land into the wilderness, as many as would hearken unto the voice of the Lord; and they were led by many preachings and prophesyings.
Omni 1:26 Behold, it came to pass that Mosiah discovered that the people of Zarahemla, came out from Jerusalem, at the time that Zedekiah, king of Judah, was carried away captive into Babylon.
Omni 1:47 Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth, ye will be saved.
Omni 1:48 And now, I would speak somewhat concerning a certain number who went up into the wilderness, to return to the land of Nephi:
Omni 1:49 For there was a large number who were desirous to possess the land of their inheritance; wherefore, they went up into the wilderness.
Omni 1:50 And their leader being a strong and a mighty man, and a stiff- necked man, wherefore he caused a contention among them; and they were all slain, save fifty, in the wilderness, and they returned again to the land of Zarahemla.
Mosiah 1:23 And moreover, he also gave him charge concerning the records which were engraven on the plates of brass; and also, the plates of Nephi;
Mosiah 5:4 And it came to pass that on the morrow, they started to go up, having with them one Ammon, he being a strong and mighty man, and a descendant of Zarahemla; and he was also their leader.
Mosiah 5:28 Therefore, lift up your heads, and rejoice, and put your trust in God, in that God who was the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob;
Mosiah 5:60 And the king said unto him, Being grieved for the afflictions of my people, I caused that forty and three of my people should take a journey into the wilderness, that thereby they might find the land of Zarahemla; that we might appeal unto our brethren to deliver us out of bondage;
Mosiah 6:1 I, Zeniff, having been taught in all the language of the Nephites, and having had a knowledge of the land of Nephi, or of the land of our fathers' first inheritance, and having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites, that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them;
Mosiah 6:3 But he being an austere and a bloodthirsty man, commanded that I should be slain; but I was rescued by the shedding of much blood;
Mosiah 6:5 And we returned, those of us that were spared, to the land of Zarahemla, to relate that tale to their wives, and their children.
Mosiah 6:6 And yet, I being overzealous to inherit the land of our fathers, collected as many as were desirous to go up to possess the land, and started again on our journey into the wilderness, to go up to the land; but we were smitten with famine and sore afflictions; for we were slow to remember the Lord our God.
Mosiah 6:38 And they had their heads shaved, that they were naked; and they were girded with a leathern girdle about their loins.
Mosiah 6:45 Yet they were a strong people, as to the strength of men; they were a wild, and ferocious, and a bloodthirsty people, believing in the tradition of their fathers, which is this:
Mosiah 6:47 And again: that they were wronged while in the land of their first inheritance, after they had crossed the sea;
Mosiah 6:51 And again: they were wroth with him when they had arrived to the promised land, because they said that he had taken the ruling of the people out of their hands; and they sought to kill him.
Mosiah 9:71 And now the king said that Alma was stirring up the people to rebellion against him; therefore he sent his army to destroy them.
Mosiah 9:81 And now the king was not so much concerned about his people, as he was about his own life; nevertheless, Gideon did spare his life.
Mosiah 9:92 And now Limhi was desirous that his father should not be destroyed; nevertheless, Limhi was not ignorant of the iniquities of his father, he himself being a just man.
Mosiah 9:93 And it came to pass that Gideon sent men into the wilderness secretly, to search for the king, and those that were with him.
Mosiah 9:99 And the men of Gideon told them of all that had happened to their wives and their children; and that the Lamanites had granted unto them that they might possess the land by paying a tribute to the Lamanites of one half of all they possessed.
Mosiah 9:104 And it came to pass that Limhi began to establish the kingdom, and to establish peace among his people.
Mosiah 9:110 And now the priests of King Noah, being ashamed to return to the city of Nephi, yea, and also fearing that the people would slay them, therefore they durst not return to their wives and their children.
Mosiah 9:111 And having tarried in the wilderness, and having discovered the daughters of the Lamanites, they laid and watched them; and when there were but few of them gathered together to dance, they came forth out of their secret places, and took them and carried them into the wilderness.
Mosiah 9:129 For do ye not remember the priests of thy father, whom this people sought to destroy?
Mosiah 9:134 And now let us pacify the king, and we fulfill the oath which we have made unto him: for it is better that we should be in bondage, than that we should lose our lives; therefore, let us put a stop to the shedding of so much blood.
Mosiah 9:160 And the king himself did not trust his person without the walls of the city, unless he took his guards with him, fearing that he might by some means fall into the hands of the Lamanites.
Mosiah 9:165 And had they been the priests of Noah, he would have caused that they should be put to death; but when he found that they were not, but that they were his brethren, and had come from the land of Zarahemla, he was filled with exceeding great joy.
Mosiah 9:177 And Ammon declined doing this thing, considering himself an unworthy servant; therefore they did not at that time form themselves into a church, waiting upon the Spirit of the Lord.
Mosiah 10:2 And even they did cause that all the people should gather themselves together; and this they did that they might have the voice of the people concerning the matter.
Mosiah 10:8 And Gideon said unto him, Behold the back pass through the back wall, on the back side of the city.
Mosiah 10:10 And I will go according to thy command, and pay the last tribute of wine to the Lamanites, and they will be drunken; and we will pass through the secret pass on the left of their camp, when they are drunken and asleep;
Mosiah 10:13 And King Limhi caused that his people should gather their flocks together; and he sent the tribute of wine to the Lamanites; and he also sent more wine, as a present unto them; and they did drink freely of the wine which King Limhi did send unto them.
Mosiah 10:14 And it came to pass that the people of King Limhi did depart by night into the wilderness with their flocks and their herds, and they went round about the land of Shilom in the wilderness and bent their course towards the land of Zarahemla, being led by Ammon and his brethren.
Mosiah 10:15 And they had taken all their gold, and silver, and their precious things, which they could carry; and also their provisions with them, into the wilderness; and they pursued their journey.
Mosiah 10:17 And it came to pass that Mosiah received them with joy; and he also received their records, and also the records which had been found by the people of Limhi.
Mosiah 10:18 And now it came to pass when the Lamanites had found that the people of Limhi had departed out of the land by night, that they sent an army into the wilderness to pursue them;
Mosiah 10:19 And after they had pursued them two days, they could no longer follow their tracks; therefore they were lost in the wilderness.
Mosiah 11:Intro An account of Alma and the people of the Lord, who were driven into the wilderness by the people of King Noah.
Mosiah 11:2 And the Lord did strengthen them, that the people of King Noah could not overtake them, to destroy them.
Mosiah 11:33 And Alma and his brethren went forth and delivered themselves up into their hands; and the Lamanites took possession of the land of Helam.
Mosiah 11:38 And the Lamanites had compassion on Amulon and his brethren, and did not destroy them, because of their wives.
Mosiah 11:68 And in the morning the Lord caused a deep sleep to come upon the Lamanites, yea, and all their task-masters were in a profound sleep.
Mosiah 11:74 Therefore get thee out of this land, and I will stop the Lamanites in this valley, that they come no further in pursuit of this people.
Mosiah 11:75 And it came to pass that they departed out of the valley, and took their journey unto the wilderness.
Mosiah 11:77 And now King Mosiah caused that all the people should be gathered together.
Mosiah 12:12 And it came to pass that Mosiah granted that they might go, and do according to their request;
Alma 1:93 And it came to pass that when they had all crossed the river Sidon that the Lamanites and the Amlicites began to flee before them, notwithstanding they were so numerous that they could not be numbered;
Alma 1:94 And they fled before the Nephites, towards the wilderness which was west and north, away beyond the borders of the land;
Alma 1:95 And the Nephites did pursue them with their might, and did slay them; yea, they were met on every hand, and slain, and driven, until they were scattered on the west, and on the north, until they had reached the wilderness, which was called Hermounts;
Alma 1:96 And it was that part of the wilderness which was infested by wild and ravenous beasts.
Alma 3:5 And behold, I say unto you, They were delivered out of the hands of the people of King Noah, by the mercy and power of God.
Alma 6:3 And thus ended the ninth year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi.
Alma 6:5 And he began to teach the people in the land of Melek, according to the holy order of God by which he had been called; and he began to teach the people throughout all the land of Melek.
Alma 7:9 Do ye not remember that our father Lehi was brought out of Jerusalem by the hand of God?
Alma 11:1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year of the reign of the Judges over the people of Nephi, on the fifth day of the second month, there having been much peace in the land of Zarahemla; there having been no wars nor contentions for a certain number of years; even until the fifth day of the second month, in the eleventh year, there was a cry of war heard throughout the land;
Alma 11:2 For behold, the armies of the Lamanites had come in upon the wilderness side, into the borders of the land, even into the city of Ammonihah, and began to slay the people, and to destroy the city.
Alma 11:3 And now it came to pass before the Nephites could raise a sufficient army to drive them out of the land, they had destroyed the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, and also some around the borders of Noah, and taking others captive into the wilderness.
Alma 11:6 Now Zoram and his two sons, knowing that Alma was high priest over the church, and having heard that he had the spirit of prophecy,
Alma 11:8 And it came to pass that Alma inquired of the Lord concerning the matter.
Alma 11:10 And behold there shall ye meet them, on the east of the river Sidon, and there the Lord will deliver unto thee thy brethren who have been taken captive by the Lamanites,
Alma 11:11 And it came to pass that Zoram and his sons crossed over the river Sidon with their armies, and marched away beyond the borders of Manti, into the south wilderness, which was on the east side of the river Sidon.
Alma 11:15 Yea, every living soul of the Ammonihahites were destroyed, and also their great city, which they said God could not destroy, because of its greatness.
Alma 12:11 Nevertheless they departed out of the land of Zarahemla, and took their swords, and their spears, and their bows, and their arrows, and their slings;
Alma 12:12 And this they did that they might provide food for themselves while in the wilderness:
Alma 12:13 And thus they departed into the wilderness, with their numbers which they had selected, to go up to the land of Nephi, to preach the word of God unto the Lamanites.
Alma 12:115 And rehearsed and laid before him the records and the holy scriptures of the people, which had been spoken by the prophets, even down to the time that their father Lehi left Jerusalem;
Alma 13:67 And it came to pass that when the king saw that the people were pacified, he caused that Aaron and his brethren should stand forth in the midst of the multitude, and that they should preach the word unto them.
Alma 13:68 And it came to pass that the king sent a proclamation throughout all the land, amongst all his people who were in all his land, who were in all the regions round about, which was bordering even to the sea, on the east, and on the west, and which was divided from the land of Zarahemla by a narrow strip of wilderness,
Alma 13:69 Which ran from the sea east, even to the sea west, and round about on the borders of the sea-shore, and the borders of the wilderness which was on the north, by the land of Zarahemla, through the borders of Manti, by the head of the river Sidon, running from the east towards the west; and thus were the Lamanites and the Nephites divided.
Alma 13:72 And also there were many Lamanites on the east by the sea-shore, whither the Nephites had driven them. And thus the Nephites were nearly surrounded by the Lamanites;
Alma 13:73 Nevertheless the Nephites had taken possession of all the northern parts of the land, bordering on the wilderness, at the head of the river Sidon, from the east to the west, round about on the wilderness side; on the north, even until they came to the land which they called Bountiful.
Alma 13:74 And it bordered upon the land which they called Desolation; it being so far northward, that it came into the land which had been peopled, and been destroyed, of whose bones we have spoken, which was discovered by the people of Zarahemla; it being the place of their first landing. And they came from there up into the south wilderness.
Alma 13:79 And thus the Nephites in their wisdom, with their guards and their armies, had hemmed in the Lamanites on the south, that thereby they should have no more possession on the north, that they might not overrun the land northward;
Alma 14:62 And among the Lamanites who were slain, were almost all the seed of Amulon and his brethren, who were the priests of Noah, and they were slain by the hands of the Nephites;
Alma 14:64 For many of them, after having suffered much loss and so many afflictions, began to be stirred up in remembrance of the words which Aaron and his brethren had preached to them in their land:
Alma 14:66 And it came to pass that those rulers who were the remnant of the children of Amulon, caused that they should be put to death, yea, all those that believed in these things.
Alma 14:109 And moreover, they did say, Let us take up arms against them, that we destroy them and their iniquity out of the land, lest they overrun us, and destroy us.
Alma 15:13 And now it came to pass that Ammon went and told the king all the words which the Lord had said unto him.
Alma 15:26 And now behold, this will we do unto our brethren, that they may inherit the land Jershon; and we will guard them from their enemies with our armies, on conditions they will give us a portion of their substance to assist us, that we may maintain our armies.
Alma 15:35 And thus they were a zealous and beloved people, a highly favored people of the Lord.
Alma 16:79 For it was the cause of great sorrow to Alma, to know of iniquity among his people: therefore his heart was exceeding sorrowful, because of the separation of the Zoramites from the Nephites.
Alma 16:177 Do ye remember to have read what Zenos, the prophet of old, has said concerning prayer or worship?
Alma 16:190 But behold, this is not all; these are not the only ones who have spoken concerning the Son of God.
Alma 16:220 Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them: cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.
Alma 17:72 And behold, there can not any man work after the manner of so curious a workmanship.
Alma 17:76 They were slothful, and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence, and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey:
Alma 20:24 But they were not armed with breastplates, nor shields; therefore they were exceeding afraid of the armies of the Nephites, because of their armor, notwithstanding their number being so much greater than the Nephites.
Alma 20:25 Behold, now it came to pass, that they durst not come against the Nephites in the borders of Jershon; therefore they departed out of the land of Antionum, into the wilderness, and took their journey round about in the wilderness, away by the head of the river Sidon, that they might come into the land of Manti, and take possession of the land; for they did not suppose that the armies of Moroni would know whither they had gone.
Alma 20:26 But it came to pass, as soon as they had departed into the wilderness, Moroni sent spies into the wilderness, to watch their camp; and Moroni, also, knowing of the prophecies of Alma, sent certain men unto him, desiring him that he should inquire of the Lord whither the armies of the Nephites should go, to defend themselves against the Lamanites.
Alma 20:30 And he caused that all the people in that quarter of the land, should gather themselves together to battle, against the Lamanites, to defend their lands and their country, their rights and their liberties; therefore they were prepared against the time of the coming of the Lamanites.
Alma 20:74 And now it came to pass that when Zerahemnah had heard these sayings, he came forth and delivered up his sword and his cimeter, and his bow into the hands of Moroni, and said unto him,
Alma 20:86 Now there were many, when they heard these words, and saw the scalp which was upon the sword, that were struck with fear, and many came forth and threw down their weapons of war, at the feet of Moroni, and entered into a covenant of peace.
Alma 20:94 And it came to pass that Moroni caused that the work of death should cease again among the people.
Alma 21:65 Therefore Moroni thought it was expedient that he should take his armies, who had gathered themselves together, and armed themselves, and entered into a covenant to keep the peace:
Alma 21:66 And it came to pass that he took his army, and marched out into the wilderness, to cut off the course of Amalickiah in the wilderness.
Alma 21:77 But there were many who died with old age; and those who died in the faith of Christ, are happy in him, as we must needs suppose.
Alma 21:110 And it came to pass that when all they who loved the king, when they heard these words, came forth and pursued after the servants of the king.
Alma 21:126 And thus he did appoint chief captains of the Zoramites, they being the most acquainted with the strength of the Nephites, and their places of resort, and the weakest parts of their cities; therefore he appointed them to be chief captains over his armies.
Alma 21:162 And behold, his chief captains durst not attack the Nephites at the city of Ammonihah, for Moroni had altered the management of affairs among the Nephites, insomuch that the Lamanites were disappointed in their places of retreat, and they could not come upon them;
Alma 21:179 There were about fifty who were wounded, who had been exposed to the arrows of the Lamanites through the pass, but they were shielded by their shields, and their breastplates, and their head-plates, insomuch that their wounds were upon their legs: many of which were very severe.
Alma 22:6 Thus Moroni did prepare strongholds against the coming of their enemies, round about every city in all the land.
Alma 22:8 And the land of Nephi did run in a straight course from the east sea to the west.
Alma 22:10 And he also placed armies on the south, in the borders of their possessions, and caused them to erect fortifications that they might secure their armies and their people from the hands of their enemies.
Alma 24:26 And it came to pass that Moroni, having no hopes of meeting them upon fair grounds, therefore he resolved upon a plan that he might decoy the Lamanites out of their strongholds.
Alma 26:47 And it came to pass that before the dawn of the morning, behold, the Lamanites were pursuing us.
Alma 26:48 Now we were not sufficiently strong to contend with them; yea, I would not suffer that my little sons should fall into their hands; therefore we did continue our march; and we took our march into the wilderness.
Alma 26:133 And we did take courage with our small force which we had received, and were fixed with a determination to conquer our enemies, and to maintain our lands, and our possessions, and our wives, and our children, and the cause of our liberty.
Alma 26:134 And thus we did go forth with all our might against the Lamanites, who were in the city of Manti; and we did pitch our tents by the wilderness side, which was near to the city.
Alma 26:137 And also supposing that they could easily destroy us with their numerous hosts, therefore they began to make preparations to come out against us to battle.
Alma 26:140 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did come out with their numerous army against us.
Alma 26:141 And when they had come and were about to fall upon us with the sword, I caused that my men, those who were with me, should retreat into the wilderness.
Alma 26:145 And it came to pass that when they had cut them off, they ran to the city, and fell upon the guards who were left to guard the city, insomuch that they did destroy them, and did take possession of the city.
Alma 26:147 And it came to pass that Gid and Teomner, by this means, had obtained possession of their strongholds.
Alma 26:148 And it came to pass that we took our course, after having traveled much in the wilderness, towards the land of Zarahemla.
Alma 26:153 And thus it came to pass, that by this stratagem, we did take possession of the city of Manti, without the shedding of blood.
Alma 29:38 Now Ammoron, the king of the Lamanites, was also with them.
Helaman 1:48 But behold, when Gadianton had found that Kishkumen did not return, he feared lest that he should be destroyed; therefore he caused that his band should follow him.
Helaman 3:46 But behold, ye not only deny my words, but ye also deny all the words which hath been spoken by our fathers, and also the words which were spoken by this man, Moses, who had such great power given unto him; yea, the words which he hath spoken concerning the coming of the Messiah.
Helaman 4:31 And also, a certain number who were real descendants of the Lamanites, being stirred up to anger by them, or by those dissenters, therefore they commenced a war with their brethren.
Helaman 4:34 Now behold, these robbers did make great havoc, yea, even great destruction among the people of Nephi, and also among the people of the Lamanites.
Helaman 4:38 And it came to pass in the commencement of the eighty and first year, they did go forth again against this band of robbers, and did destroy many;
Helaman 4:40 And it came to pass that thus ended this year. And the robbers did still increase and wax strong, insomuch that they did defy the whole armies of the Nephites, and also of the Lamanites; and they did cause great fear to come unto the people, upon all the face of the land;
3 Nephi 2:21 And so great and marvelous were the words and prophecies of Lachoneus, that they did cause fear to come upon all the people, and they did exert themselves in their might, to do according to the words of Lachoneus.
3 Nephi 2:24 Now it was the custom among all the Nephites, to appoint for their chief captains, save it were in their times of wickedness, some one that had the spirit of revelation, and also prophecy; therefore this Gidgiddoni was a great prophet among them, and also was the chief judge.
3 Nephi 2:38 And Gidgiddoni did cause that they should make weapons of war, of every kind, that they should be strong with armor, and with shields, and with bucklers, after the manner of his instructions.
3 Nephi 2:40 And began to take possession of the lands both which was in the land south, and which was in the land north, and began to take possession of all the lands which had been deserted by the Nephites, and the cities which had been left desolate.
3 Nephi 2:41 But behold there were no wild beasts nor game in those lands which had been deserted by the Nephites, and there was no game for the robbers save it were in the wilderness.
3 Nephi 2:57 And notwithstanding the threatenings and the oaths which Giddianhi had made, behold, the Nephites did beat them, insomuch that they did fall back from before them.
3 Nephi 2:58 And it came to pass that Gidgiddoni commanded that his armies should pursue them as far as the borders of the wilderness, and that they should not spare any that should fall into their hands by the way;
3 Nephi 2:66 But behold this was an advantage to the Nephites; for it was impossible for the robbers to lay siege sufficiently long to have any effect upon the Nephites, because of their much provision which they had laid up in store, and because of the scantiness of provisions among the robbers;
3 Nephi 2:67 For behold they had nothing save it were meat for their subsistence, which meat they did obtain in the wilderness.
