Series: What does the Book of Mormon Teach?

Interns 2020-Class References

The majority of these pages are my notes, not formally organized for presentation.

Know this: The prophecy will be fulfilled when the Jews call upon God in the name of Jesus.

That day is beginning now.

"Yea, when ye shall call upon the Father in my name, with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then shall ye know that the Father hath remembered the covenant which he made unto your fathers, O house of Israel;"

--Ether 1:112

"And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications; and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

--Zechariah 12:10

Understanding Hebrew origin of Words Helps us understand meaning.

Take this example: What does it mean to take God's Name in Vain?

The answer is not what we (gentiles) say it is. The true meaning can only be understood by

looking back to the original meaning of words.

See "Taking God's Name in Vain" https://www.ancient-hebrew.org/god-yhwh/the-image-of-god.htm

This list below of scholarly books can largely be found online as google books, but can also be purchased (new or used).

Many of these authors are the premier researchers in Hebrew Poetry. While none of their books refer to the Book of Mormon,

All of their books contain examples of poetic structure which are found in the Book of Mormon.
