AB, ABC, ABCD Couplet Parallelism in the Book of Mormon
Hebrew Poetry exists in phrases called 'couplets.'
The couplets occur in pairs where couplet A (the first statement) is explained by couplet B.
Rhythm exists within the phrases where A is stated (slight pause) then B.
A_____, (pause)
B_____.
B always explains or adds to A. If there is an A, there will be a B.
"B" (or C or D if they exist) are often the conclusion summary. AB Couplets overlap synthetic parallelism.
Watson and Kugel teach that the point of stating "A" is to state "B." Or in other words, "B" the conclusion, is the most important point.
Some Hebrew Poetry adds a "C" and "D" explanation. Sometimes the B/C/D comes by contrasting with "A" (the antithesis).
Proverbs is the best biblical book of AB couplets, but they occur through out the Bible and Book of Mormon.
(A) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:
(B) But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(B is the point, made by antithesis)
(A) My son, hear the instruction of thy father,
(B) And forsake not the law of thy mother:
(Notice in Proverbs how (B) phrase expands on (A).)
The Book of Mormon contains beautiful Hebrew Couplets.
Punctuation in the existing printed Book of Mormon does not always show the format of AB/ABC/ABCD couplets. Formatting has been added here:

(LDS: Alma 29:11)

O my brethren, if ye could
be healed by merely casting about your eyes that ye might behold, would ye not
behold quickly? Or would ye rather harden your hearts in unbelief and be
slothful, that ye would not cast about your eyes that ye might perish?
If so, wo shall come upon you; But if not so, then cast about your eyes and
begin to believe in the Son of God, that He will come to redeem His people, And
that He shall suffer and die to atone for their sins,
(LDS: Alma 33:22)
Therefore, may God grant
unto you, my brethren, that ye might begin to exercise your faith unto
repentance, That ye begin to call upon His holy name that He would have mercy
upon you; Yea, cry unto Him for mercy, for He is mighty to save;
Yea, humble yourselves and continue in prayer unto Him - Cry unto Him when ye
are in your fields, yea, over all your flocks; Cry unto Him in your houses,
yea, over all your household, both morning, midday and evening; Yea, cry unto
Him against the power of your enemies; Yea, cry unto Him against the devil which
is an enemy to all righteousness;
Cry unto Him over the crops of your fields that ye may prosper in them; Cry
over the flocks of your fields that they may increase.
But this is not all - Ye must pour out your souls in your closets and your
secret places and in your wilderness;
Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, Let your hearts be full, drawn out
in prayer unto Him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of
those that are around you.
(LDS: Alma 34:27)

(B) But they are cast out and consigned to partake of the fruits of their labors or their works which have been evil,
And they drink
the dregs of a bitter cup.
(A) And now my son, I have somewhat to say concerning the restoration
of which has been spoken,
(B) For behold, some have wrested the
scriptures and have gone far astray because of this thing;
(A) And I perceive that thy mind hath been worried also concerning
this thing,
(B) But behold, I will explain it unto
thee.
(A) I say unto thee, my son, that the plan of restoration is requisite
with the justice of God,

should be restored to their proper order;
(LDS: Alma 41:2)
(A) And thus we see that all mankind were fallen;
(B) And they were in the grasp of
justice, yea, the justice of God which consigned them forever to be cut off

atonement should be made;

(A) To bring about the plan of mercy
(B) To appease the demands of justice,
(A) That God might be a perfect just God
(B) And a merciful God also.
(LDS: Alma 42:15)
(A) O my son, I desire that ye should
deny the justice of God no more;
(B) Do not endeavor to excuse yourself in the least point because of
your sins, by denying the justice of God,

(B) But let it bring you down to the
dust in humility.

treasures unto Me save it be the righteous;
(A) And he that hideth not up his treasure unto Me, cursed is he, and
also the treasure,
